- reknaps, on 10/11/2007, -10/+148I think its funny how nearly all of the crazy awesome mac setups out there are using a non-mac mouse.
I think Apple needs to get over themselves, admit defeat and make a realistically usable, comfortable, two button mouse. - moonboots, on 10/11/2007, -9/+132that must have cost a bitch
- Pulp, on 10/11/2007, -2/+98@moonboots
Bitches are not legal tender. - deadbaby, on 10/11/2007, -9/+96A little too flashy for my tastes. I'd prefer Al Gore's 3x30" setup instead.
- YaDontWannaKnow, on 10/11/2007, -2/+88He's got a G5 AND a MacPro on the other side.

- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -15/+56cost: 1 billion dollars

- StarManta, on 10/11/2007, -2/+33Yeah, few people defend Apple's mice. The mighty mouse is on the right track but their one button two button thing is stupid.
- fuzzmeister, on 10/11/2007, -1/+29He says that the Orb tracks visitors to his web site, so I assume that he runs some kind of (very profitable) web business. Could just be his blog, however.

eh, old dell dimension box. that's a big negative. - aaronm67, on 10/11/2007, -9/+31Hell...I'd say ditch two of the screens, ditch one of the computers (probably the G5), and a couple of the iPods and take yourself on a nice vacation with the $2000+ and stilll have a pretty awesome setup...and enjoy the $20 a month in savings on your electric bill.
Also...has anyone actually tried using a 30'' screen? I had a 25''+ (I want to say 27'', but it has been a while) screen at work for a while, and I ended up getting rid of it because I went home from work every day with a sore neck, because you end up having to look up just to see anything. Also, the multiple screens can be useful, but the way he has it set up the left and right screens are too far away to actually read anything on them, so I really can't imagine what he would use them for. - niqhil, on 10/11/2007, -0/+17The rear speakers of his "5.1 Speaker system with Titanium casing" should have got better place.
- Soulglow, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18I know plenty of 'entrepreneurs' with setups like that.. built with trust fund money.
- emorphien, on 10/11/2007, -0/+17That's a lot of kit, too bad his speakers are laid out stupidly.
- cvrefugee, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15The dude needs to invest in a tripod, the large pic is pretty blurry.
- DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16pr5owner: You have got to be kidding me. How old are you? Aren't you up past your bedtime?
- gwhardyiv, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16Is that excessive, or am I just jealous?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+17Too geeky.
Adding big LCDs and cleaning up the papers from your desk doesn't automatically make a setup cool. - DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -2/+15You would know!
- championchap, on 10/11/2007, -2/+15@deadbaby (#7104905)
Same, Its a bit "PC Gamer"ish ..but with Macs.
Kinda ruins the simplicity of the Macs design for me. - xstarsprinklesx, on 10/11/2007, -6/+18Actually, that whole page disproves itself.
- benjic, on 10/11/2007, -5/+16Last time I checked, OS 10 IS unix.
- Ricapar, on 10/11/2007, -12/+23Doesn't beat this:

- g33kfu, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11***** the setup, I want all his L lenses!
- nullvector, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11That person sure can waste money.
$2500 for the desk? wtf - speaker219, on 10/11/2007, -6/+15@Drakin030 (#7105770)
Dugg down.... because nobody cares. - Harbinger67, on 10/11/2007, -5/+14So...what exactly would one do on that setup that would actually make it useful? It's cool and all, but what's the point behind all of it other than to reach Apple Power User Level 19 or whatnot?
- benggg, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9yeah, Al Gores setup just looks badass. Not badass in a blue LEDs glowing ***** way, but badass as in a 'I can get a bunch of ***** done' way. God I hope he runs.
- violator462, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8i don't understand why people buy 5.1 systems only to use them as 2.1's
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+11It's a sad day when Maddox gets buried on a tech geek site.
- lysdexia, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8I'd be embarrassed with that audio setup.
- JoeBaynham, on 10/11/2007, -10/+17I would Murder for that set up. Although it will be outdated in the next month or so (LED ACD).
- Jerk, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Apple *design* is what makes the Macs so attractive, doesn't matter who builds them. As you've noted, there are only a handful of companies that actually make computers.
- DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Some people use their office for work, not games.
- 666dorado, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6yeah, but there's a jog/shuttle control, which indicates video...
- FrederikNS, on 10/11/2007, -5/+11@Kratisto
Oh you didn't get the news? Windows can run on macs now... - SgtBlue, on 10/11/2007, -7/+13This Mac setup beats that crappy Dell setup you linked by quite a bit, sorry.
- zioxide, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8"i would much rather play BF2142 at a decent frame rate with SLI cards than surf the internet on a fast mac with a good video card."
The Mac Pro is a workstation computer, not a computer to surf the internet.
Nobody gives a ***** if you'd rather play games. If you want to do that, then do it, and stop wasting our ***** time. - Cloud7654, on 10/11/2007, -6/+12Holy shi– Me wants!
- swoopdog, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6this setup looks like someone got too many gift certificates to thinkgeek
its not "THE COOLEST EVAR!"
apparently no one ever saw Al Gore's Mac setup:

to be able to stand up or sit down and work is a nice option with those - Cmain, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Actually he says that he is "an entrepreneur and security consultant."
- gregulate, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5He's got a PowerMate too! (I love those things)
