- KnucklesDawson, on 10/11/2007, -3/+14I want to know if it'll be sold online to the Canadian Market from the equivalent carrier (Be it Rogers or Apple's Canadian store)
- Cyber_Akuma, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10Confirmed: AT&T Website will crash from load on June 29.
Anyone remember Amazon's $100 Xbox360 fiasco? - Lazyboy0172, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7I'd still like to know how much it costs...you know, a month. I have to pay for it for 2 years even after the first $600 is down, they may as well tell me how much i'll bepaying over those next 2 years.
- CraigJ, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8According to this, you will be able to buy on-line, just not on June 29th. http://www.businessweek.com/ap/financialnews/D8PQO0LO0.htm
- jun2san, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Oh cool. Now I don't have to be embarrassed about paying the huge deposit in front of a line of people due to bad credit.
JK! - nexlogic, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7In other News, iPhone will be sold on Ebay.

- BillyK, on 10/11/2007, -4/+7Confirmed: Water is Wet
- dgblackout, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3we in europe will probably get it before you thanks to the carriers in canada.
- Pyrorunner, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Actually the SIM tray is in the middle of the top view of the phone. The sleep button is to the right of that.
- Eddible, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Am I right in assuming if you buy one online, it's still on a contract and not handset only?
- troyallen069, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Don't buy a BMW, save you money and buy a honda
- Eddible, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Your sarcasm makes my eyes bleed!
- p51d007, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2The last two phones I've owned were unlocked and on AT&T's network, never had an issue with it.
The current phone I use, I used for almost a year before AT&T started selling it. - DonCarcharo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I haven't purchased a cell phone from AT&T/Cingular/AT&T in ages. I get all my phones unlocked on eBay as so I don't have to extend my contract. Not that it makes any difference, though. AT&T/Cingular/AT&T seem to renew my contract year after year without my consent anyway.
"Sir we wouldn't just renew your contract unless you specifically requested it."
"Ma'am, why would I request that you renew my contract when I haven't had a new phone or a new plan in the last 3 years?"
"Sir how would I know that? I'm just saying you got a new contract so you must have asked for it." - enicholas, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I'm more inclined to trust Apple's own web site, which says it is indeed coming on the 29th:
http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?nnmm=browse&mco=5518F4BB&node=home/its_coming - onestep, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Definite crash on the Apple & AT&T websites... they have no idea what they are in store for.
- pigg123, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2im waiting for an unlocked one to hit the market.... only one site is online stating they'll have it:
http://www.puremobile.com/Apple/Apple-iPhone-Black-GSM-Phone/ - DonCarcharo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Curse the new Digg and it's lack of paragraphs! Curse you I say!
- noreturn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2The replies to said comments are just as WTF inducing.
- fortezza, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I also have purchased my last 3 phones unlocked on eBay and then selected my carrier arbitrarily. It is more than doable, its been done.
- Jholder112233, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Yes sell a contract phone on ebay. While its still in contract! CLEVER =]
*I hope people notice the sarchasm* - jwdav, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Apple should post the cost for the phone plus the cost of service for the term just like all the other phone manufacturers do.
Sheesh. - ericdano, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2170 hours until the blood bath begins. One iPhone to rule them all.
- jd91dc, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2While repairing computers at my old school there was an Apple rep there to fix a Macbook Pro. We started talking about the iPhone. He waas saying that it was 3.5gp capable, and storage upgrades will be available through something that uses the mini usb port. I also asked if it required a data plan and he said it didn't due to the iPhone having wi-fi.Has anyone else heard if it required a data plan?
- awilke, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Both Puremobile.ca and hi-mobile.net are carrying it. I emailed hi-mobile and they told me early July.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1wa...I can't wait anymore to buy one :)
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1can it edit them? no? useless, i can CREATE power point slides, excel spreadsheets and word documents on my tytn as well as my older prophet, and those phones are 2.5 years old
- Gee1004, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Was your other phones an iPhone and made by Apple with an exclusive contract between Apple and ATT? I thought so
- TexasFlood93, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1it now shows Available at Apple Retail,
over 1,800 AT&T locations,
or the online Apple Store.
with only the apple retail store as a link - xerexes1, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3That's right. Stoke the jealousy.
- kashem, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Textedit (OSX version of Notepad) can save or edit files into Word format, so I wouldn't be too surprised if the iPhone has this capability built in as well.
- madi-allen, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Word to the sie: AT&T will automatically renew your contract EVERY TIME YOU do an ESN change.
- TexanPsycho, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1The official UK launch is near Christmas. Sucks to be in the UK.
btw: I'm currently in the UK. - PasteEater, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I'm wondering the same thing. It's rumored that you *must* by a data plan for $40/month AND a calling plan. This could easily cost over $100/month. And like you said, the phone is expensive, costing either $500 or $600. So, after four months of usage, this phone might cost you $1,000. After 2 years (at $100/month) that's $3,000. For a phone.
I'm a huge Mac fan, but I think I will pass this one by. Besides, I don't like AT&T. - Sethwm2, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Hell no I am going to be at an Apple store to get my hands on it that day it comes out...
- randydid, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1"Does this change your plans?"
From an Apple fan with two Macs and an 80 gig iPod: No. I still won't buy one, The ATT part of it is a deal breaker for me. I will NEVER subject myself to their abusive customer service again. Plus, I never buy any first gen Mac Products, I wait until they have rev. b or c out before. - Dantehman17, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Why does it being sold online surprise so many of you?
- CraigJ, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I agree - I didn't see that. One thing that is clear from all the stuff flying around is that AT&T and Apple need to get on the same page about this stuff...
- mentor972, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2This is the first phone sold online that anyone gives a crap about. Plus, it beats waiting in line for one.
- cleverboy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Heh. They might even be selling it at iPhone.com. At least in Google ads:
http://www.myphonewar.com/index/news-updates/iphone.com-casualty-of-war-what-to-do-with-mistaken-identity.html - nxusername, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1BBQ
- yozef, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1hmmm... I tried calling them to pre-order... seems this company has it's customer service shut down??
- digiguy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Just convert them and import them using iTunes.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0phones with SDHC slots have 8GB HOT SWAPPABLE cards, which means like 32GB of space with 4 cards, most cases have sd card slot holders anyways
- cfphpl, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1OK, here is the deal for online apple sales. I work for at&a in one of the inbound sales centers (we used to be one of cingulars call centers) and the memo that has been sent out to us is that only apple.com and not at&t.com will sell the iphone. The phone will be available in apple stores and at&t corp. owned stores. The phone is only being sold with a 2 year contract and will use the smart phone data plans. That is basically all we have been told, I do know that the reason that allot of these restrictions have been placed on its sale are stipulations apple demanded for at&t to get exclusive sales rights,
- machater81, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0This story is very old....i talked live to a rep on apple.com and he tole me like a month ago that we can buy them online.....
- fanboydcs, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18Gb is a ton of space for flash memory. What other cell phones have more space? Don't tell me you want a harddrive in a phone..
