- feylanks, on 10/12/2007, -6/+306CONFIRMED: this has not been confirmed
- Jadinlee, on 10/12/2007, -25/+236NO DIG for comments that say "title says it all"
- BadassCheese, on 10/12/2007, -4/+58The patent is years old.
- cazabam, on 10/12/2007, -5/+57Buried - not only is it obviously nothing more than a rumour, the submitter couldn't even be bothered to fill in details. For example, what the title doesn't "say" is the source of this information, the context, or even the fact that the news is not confirmed at all.
Who diggs this stuff? Please, stop it! - CMiYC, on 10/12/2007, -4/+54This isn't confirmed.
Confirmed happens with a press announcement. - PoVRAZOR, on 10/12/2007, -3/+48Confirmed: Word "CONFIRMED" = +400 diggs bonus
- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -2/+43I believe the article's headline should read
"ANOTHER RUMOR: Touchscreen iPod to come Some Time"
I'm not saying it's an impossibility, but untill I see that thing in Steve Job's hands, I won't believe any of it - solarisom, on 10/12/2007, -7/+40The title does NOT say it all...
- thewebguy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31duke forever is being developed for the touch-screen ipod
- NewChar, on 10/12/2007, -6/+28CONFIRMED: Touchscreen iPod rumor
- Khamel83, on 10/12/2007, -10/+31CONFIRMED: iPod hype is out of control
- Chewie67, on 10/12/2007, -4/+24Yet again, I'll say "I hope so", but until I can walk into the local Apple store and buy it, I'm not holding my breath.
With all of the latest round of rumors, I was hoping we'd see this before December though. How about a nice Halloween gift, Uncle Steve? - afeitarse, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21For god's sake, why are people digging this? If I said 'CONFIRMED:Osama Bin Laden is Really A Parakeet', would you monkeys believe that too?
- PinkoCommie, on 10/12/2007, -22/+40I agree this well placed executive wouldn't dare have loose lips if he really worked for Apple. Apple even delayed the release of the G4 cubes because ATI accidentally announced it on their website first. They opened up the race so that NVidia could develop a video chip/driver for the Mac as a result. This company thrives on secrecy.
- rragle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17CONFIRMED: Bad photoshop artist
- rodrigo74, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19Marked as innacurate.
- UltimaNut, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Inaccurate. Unless the URL says apple.com im not going to beleive it.
- Ludwig, on 10/12/2007, -6/+19That 3G iPod photoshopped into a phone looks awful.
- pirateNoBeard, on 10/12/2007, -12/+24Dugg - however, "skeptical" doesn't even begin to describe my frame of mind on this.
- OmniMe, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16he says it's fanboy art, not the real deal.
- dongiaconia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9@SteaminTmann
They will never make one with a built in tuner when they can get an additional $50 off the FM Tuner Remote for the iPod.
Question: Why is iPod still not in the dictionary digg uses for spell check? - Ub3rg33k, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13Have any of you actually used a touchscreen on a daily basis? Do you understand how nasty they can get? This would be especially annoying if the controls are located over a typical viewing area. You smear up the screen and find yourself constantly cleaning it. Depending on the touch technology used, this cleaning is interpreted by the device as control commands from your finger... and you see where I'm going.
I don't think this would matter if you want to use the device primarily as a music player, but for a portable video device, this isn't as hot an idea as everyone thinks. - MaynardsTool, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11You would pay Microsoft to DRM all of your music...and play your videos back on a big, low resoultion screen?
- zetsurin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Confirmed? So before reading the article I expect to be reading that Steve Jobs said it's coming or it's listed on the Apple store. After reading the article I see neither, so... Innacurate *click*
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9These Apple story submitters have been dreaming a lot lately.
- carcrazy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I don't want to argue about the validity of this rumor, but I seriously am skeptical about a *touchscreen* iPod. You wouldn't ever be able to see what you're trying to watch for all the fingerprints!
- mmortal03, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9I'll believe it when i touch it.
- bkorte, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7480p is ED
720p is HD
Let me guess, Molly, you bought an "HD" display with a 1024x1024 resolution? I love Norcent. LOL - shertzerj, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9If it's not from Apple's mouth directly it's not confirmed. Inaccurate.
- MACaroni, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I thought CONFIRMED meant that Apple had to have said or posted this publically? Am I just an idiot?
- NSResponder, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6"When I asked this exec why we should believe any of this info he explained that Apple works incredibly hard to keep its third party manufacturers in the loop because “it makes more money from the affiliates programme than from selling iPods”
100% *****. The royalties on the "made for iPod" program would be absurd if that were the case.
-jcr - nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5And I thought Osama bin Laden was a terrorist! Man you can't believe anything on the news anymore... a parakeet eh, who knew? I better blog this and submit it to digg! :-p (using the digg comment as the CONFIRMED source, of course)
- asteron, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Buried as INACCURATE
There is nothing "confirmed" about an anonymous source. Bury this trite. - nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Which is good because they look terrible.
- Ludwig, on 10/12/2007, -11/+15That's why I buried it.
- Alphateam, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Whatever...how is that "confirmed" some guy who claims to be an exec says so.
There is one of these on the front page everyday.
It will happen when it happens. This story is nothing. - Ub3rg33k, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Sorry Molly, but the FCC defines HD as anything "containing more than 700 lines of resolution ... and presented in a 16:9 aspect ratio". 480p is not HD, its ED (enhanced definition). 720p is the lowest HD standard as defined by the ATSC spec.
- jonj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4worst photoshop ever.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10"we've been reading about the "true video iPod" since the original video iPod was launched. it's what ? more than a year now ?"
WOW! A *whole* year! I mean, they could have R&D for transporters and warp engines done in less time!
Damned Apple slowpokes! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4CONFIRMED: Apple + CONFIRMED = front page
- mmaf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+31) Apple Zealot logs onto DIGG.
2) Apple Zealot sees article titled : CONFIRMED: Touchscreen iPod To Come This December
3) Logic tells Apple Zealot that this article is not accurate.
4) Zealotry overrides Apple Zealot's common sense.
5) Apple Zealot decides to digg article in hopes that this small gesture will keep even one consumer from buying a ZUNE and wait for the mythical "touchscreen iPod"
6) 1600 Diggs later, this crap is still on the frontpage - Edger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3CONFIRMED: These rumors have me caring less and less
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3CONFIRMED: I play with my tool!
- raptordrew, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Even if this thing does come, isn't anyone concerned about the possibility of smudges all over the screen?
- totorototoro, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8The title really doesn't say it all.
- picaman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3And buried at the bottom of the article is this tidbit:
"Apple has been informing partner companies that its long awaited ‘iPhone’...will debut in January and Apple wants to feature a subscription iTunes service where tracks could be downloaded for free as long as the subscription was maintained."
I can't imagine that there will ever be subscription-based iTunes. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5CONFIRMED: secret to successful digg submission is to prepend title with word "confirmed" written in caps.
- jimbohawkins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This is just a Gizmodo article that links to the article above. Why do I care about something that doesn't add any additional information?
