http://iphoneapps.org/ - jaxter2010, on 06/17/2009, -1/+17Some guy sold me an iPhone for $50. Should I be worried?
- tian2992, on 07/20/2008, -2/+17you are lucky you did not got a P-P-P-Powerbook
http://www.zug.com/pranks/powerbook/ - dementedpuppy, on 07/19/2008, -5/+19Actually, the apps are all real, and would work if you had a jailbroken iPhone, that isn't running version 2.0. However, these apps are free and weren't developed by iPhoneApps.org, so yes it's a scam, but not in the way you're describing it to be.
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -0/+12Is the hand written iPhone sticker starting to peel off?
- tomj88, on 07/20/2008, -1/+12I love how it says "At a price that's a steal" yeah sure is...
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -1/+12I love how the SNES app has a Wii next to it.
- cl0n3x, on 07/20/2008, -2/+13I'm not your friend, buddy.
- tomj88, on 07/20/2008, -1/+11I'm not your buddy, guy!
- jaxter2010, on 06/17/2009, -0/+7No but the apple is actually a pear. He told me it was a special limited edition.
- soccernamlak, on 07/20/2008, -1/+8I'm not your guy, friend!
- danwarne, on 07/20/2008, -1/+71. Google "iPhone apps"

http://marketplace.sitepoint.com/auctions/33068 - Laminarcissus, on 07/20/2008, -3/+7But don't worry, they'll have cut-and-paste in another year (just not a priority) and turn-by-turn audio directions shortly after (against the TOS). Wow, a GPS that just tells you where you are -- does it have weather that tells me to look out a window?
But the user interface is beautiful, I'm sure. Now excuse me while I press a button and launch apps and ask for system status on my Windows Mobile machine just by speaking into it. Is that in the Apple Store?
I downloaded and installed a piece of third party software that skins WM with the HTC Cube interface. Will Apple let you change the interface even (God forbid) if you wanted to? How about downloading 3rd-party software in general, can you do that? You can, but you have to hack it and void the warranty in the process?
Hmm, no turn-by-turn driving directions, but it sure does sound like Apple's telling you where to go. - Pinkertinkle, on 07/20/2008, -4/+7Anyone dumb enough to fall for this deserves to fall for it.
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -5/+8"The iTunes App Store is the exclusive distributor of iPhone apps, period."
ROFL that sounds good when you tell it like it is. That must be why Apple fanboys dislike Microsoft's monopoly so much. - username7410, on 07/20/2008, -1/+4Really, people are that stupid, really?
- Quicksilver4648, on 07/20/2008, -0/+3I read it all and it was amazing. Thank you 100x for providing that link.
- SteveIsTheDude, on 07/20/2008, -0/+2Yes.
- nortago, on 07/20/2008, -0/+2I found the address markybbb@mac.com linked from the too...
- DeFex, on 07/20/2008, -1/+3So when is symantec..um i mean those evil virus writers going to start making iphone viruses so you have to buy antivirus for it.
- umbrellainabin, on 07/20/2008, -2/+4you're clearly the owner
- chochazel, on 07/20/2008, -0/+2@merrickx I think you should.
@sirmasterboy - jail-broken 1.1.4 apps don't work on a jail-broken 2.0 phone because the changes to the OS are too substantial - the apps will need to be rewritten in order to be compatible with the new firmware. - se1zure, on 07/20/2008, -1/+3I dunno whats more sad. The fact that you took the time to look up every tiny and insignificant feature the iphone is missing but some other phones have, or the fact that you actually just typed up a whole list of these things to a group of people you will never meet and will never have their mind changed by your argument.
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -0/+2Thank you for this!
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -1/+3Massive wall of whine...
- pacokorn77, on 07/20/2008, -0/+2Holy *****. "P-P-P-Powerbook" is now officially engraved into my brain. There is no escaping that phrase nor it's meaning. I keep saying it with a Waterboy-type speech impediment to accentuate the stuttering.
Shirt.woot definitely needs this somehow... - Willeth, on 07/20/2008, -0/+2hiddencatch - I've said it before, and it wasn't even me that originally said it, but the fact that the device may have the functionality I want in the future does in no way compel me to purchase it now. Buying something for its potential is pointless, especially when there are devices that already do things the iPhone doesn't.
- zeeky, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!!!
- mag1c1an, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1I dont think he is trying to change anybodys mind... just telling all of you fanboys in a different way to STFU with all the iphone hype.
- lies03, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1lol apple is a pear nice.
- GreenAlien, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1It couldnt be a real-time scanner because it can't run background processes. But even then I don't think the iPhone has a file system as such where apps can see files from other apps, so doubt it's even possible to do manual virus checks. Which if it means keeping Symantec well away, that's cool by me.
- GreenAlien, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1Gladly
- mag1c1an, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1Of course this argument is meaningless... because it makes total sense to everyone including an apple fanboy like yourself who is in denial.
If Jobs told you you had to give him a blowjob before buying one of his products, the only question that you would probably ask is " can I spit or do i have to swallow?" - Sanduu, on 07/20/2008, -2/+3Somebody has to do something about it and all the frickin' scams
- xtraa, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1Hmm,
does it have the original Apple dial plate on the front? - MrViklund, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1Buried as spam because of gizmodo.com. Those kids are not worthy writing about anything Apple or iPhone.
- phiebs, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1Done... 100 odd tabs in FF - should feel the pinch now!!!
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1Anyone stupid enough to fall for this is a ***** moron
- Willeth, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1Agh, clicked the wrong reply link, please ignore.
- phantom_mullet, on 07/20/2008, -1/+2Buried for wasting my time and space on the page.
- cblokzyl1, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1Yes but i already talked to godaddy and for them to take it down you have to go through icann
- PilotHead, on 07/20/2008, -0/+0laser!!!
- lies03, on 07/20/2008, -1/+1He probably put a fake address, if so then that's against the TOS and could bring his domain down right?
