- snownskate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1very cool, i really like the fact that it has it's own interface on the screen....when will apple give us this straight from the ipod!?
now i just need one for my car (think mounted ipod for control with a 6" lcd displaying what you would normally see on ipod screen) - Markdoggin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why Apple hasn't yet done this is beyond me, I suspect this will be the general approach to home media from apple in the near future. Stream it to your TV with wifi.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1that's awesome man!
- anthony1124, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0really cool. i'm not wasting my money on an apple ipod remote that has a menu button that doesn't work... i'm getting this for sure. hopefully it's as good as it sounds.
- Zero2aHero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This thing looks really nice... I wonder if the album art displays on the tv as well. Would be cool if you could transfer songs from itunes to the ipod via wifi using this thing. Did it say anything about that?
- disco_stuburt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is definitely cool. Leave it to Griffin.
- bvaughn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I wish they had the same product but would connect to iTunes music shares.
- hiro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, I like
- streetstealth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This digg is emblematic of my constant inner conflict between continuing to read Digg and abandoning it:
On one hand, it's a good link and a great product. On the other hand, the post is written in the usual sloppy, unprofessional manner, complete with gratuitous "holy *****!" - Dingle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I wish it was little cheaper, but oh well.
- gemalynn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Compare this to the DLO HomeDock Deluxe. Look like they do the same thing. But the Griffin is $50 cheaper.
http://www.dlo.com/Products/homedoc_dx_Prod.tpl?command=showpage&cart=11363448322766537 - Otto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Gotta admit, that is pretty darned spiffy.
- myobie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice. Griffin makes awesome stuff.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have one of those DLO home docks. I get audible distortion if I turn up the receiver's volume with the dock connected and turned on but with nothing playing on the iPod.
It doesn't matter how good the audio cable I use to connect the dock to the receiver, I can't avoid the buzzing distortion in my Polks. So I abandoned the idea of using the iPod for playing music from the dock, and continue to use my DVD player to play my CDs, no matter how inconvenient it is to swap the discs. - MrMysterious, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I might have to get one of these.
- chrisduffer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Even the thought of that gives me a special feeling. I hope they send a load over to the UK. I don't really want to pay £30 to ship one from merikah
- EyeDye, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I still like this one better...
http://digg.com/apple/iPoo_-_The_toilet_paper_dispensing_iPod_dock_ - MacTechie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The quality of stuff that comes out of Griffin is amazing, always top shelf. Almost seems like Apple has opened an east coast campus.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"nope!
http://xtrememac.com/audio/speakers/tango.php"
How is that better than on-screen (TV) media selection? I think any badassed sound system you can hook your iPod up to is better than your linked one. - RobSaint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0WOW! I can watch the progress of my songs on my TV screen... without the album Artwork! Sound great to me ;o)
All in all is does sound good, but why spend 100 bucks on something that the Apple Dock does? or am I wrong? - ddaydude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i like that this can be used with the ipod mini, it'd be cool if they made a tweak where u could upload video to all of the ipods and play it on the tv.
- tp8181, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So can you play stored mpg files on it or just play video files from iPod MOVIE?
- sawxblog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is the begining of the apple media center. Pretty soon the mac mini will be right there along side your reciever, tivo, etc.
Imagin surfing and using your OS via a plasma tv?
Fun stuff... - Vladk1000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Cool, I might get it.

- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very, very, very nice. Griffin has totally outdone themselves... Super Digg.
- sych0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0griffin rules
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+01) Download a current-release movie over bittorrent.
2) Encode the video in Mpeg4.
3) Txfer you your iPod.
4) Dock it in the living room.
5) Enjoy
This is killer. - diggnationdevon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I prefer the universal dock from Apple, its what I have.
- penguindude15, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0O sorry gemalynn didn't realize you did it first
- penguindude15, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://www.dlo.com/products/homedoc_dx_Prod.tpl?command=showpage&cart=11370962482833721 this one also works as a dock and does much more
- betojf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the thing is... this will probably take a year to be released... watch, do you remember the firewave? well its still in preorder since like early last year, go with the dlo at least they don't have a vague "preorder" button but it says march '06
- GizmoMonster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is awesome! This is going to make poker night a lot more fun. We're always playing the "who's this" during the card game and now I don't have to get up to see who it is. Being able to play Internet radio is a huge plus.
Snownskate - you read my mind. My kids can plug in their iPods and watch music videos on our long trips. Movies get boring after a while they say. - xLiKx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0great value for what you get, i'll wait for reviews before i buy
- kamizu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0and you thought the mac mini was gonna be apple's media centre (yes, i was taught and i prefer brit spelling). this is just too cool for school, even if that phrase isn't.
- BrandonAbell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@penguindude15: what you linked doesn't do internet radio as far as I can tell from the page you linked.
- paulcooper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@sidewalkpilot,
depends if you speak english or american. you are correct, if we're speaking english.
wow, thats cool - actually gives meaning to the fact you can have video on your ipod - watching that on a tini screen is simply a novelty - this makes ti useful. - walkerwayne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like it. I will buy it. Apple should have done this months ago!
- spelchek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0will it charge while plugged in?
- lostinthefire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0nice
- teknophil1ac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The DLO HomeDock Deluxe doesn't have wireless connectivity either..
- FourDoor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is a pretty sweet doc. It may just work well for a couple friends who want to connect thier iPod to some TVs with a functional remote. :D
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Before you go claiming that the thing is a "wireless hotspot", how about you look up what "wireless hotspot" means.
- turbopro, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0serious ftards here, explaining why there should be a lower case i instead of upper case I for ipod. go write a freakin blog about it, dont waste time and space here. oh and yeah I just preordered mine.
- dylanA, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"why do people always insist on using a capital i for iPod... it's iPod... not Ipod... not IPOD... not iPoD...."
--soulcages01
i totally agree - Jerk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0And people wonder why iPods are so popular (hint, it's the accessories, stupid!) No worries, I'm sure your iRiver/Creative player has this feature built-in, right?
- a99tandem, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0dugg to death
- McZiggz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0nope!
http://xtrememac.com/audio/speakers/tango.php - cosmotic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0It's iPod not Ipod. How can you say best ever? Have you seen every single iPod dock ever made? And if it is the best ever, let other people draw their own conclusion instead of using that cliche crap.
- RyeBrye, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Most Biased summary - EVER - Worst use of hyperbole in this century!
Seriously - list the features... etc and let the community decide if it's going to make us wet our pants or not. -
