- kamikaze134, on 09/28/2008, -2/+207Fantastic...my blinds can finally access iTunes.
- clicketyclack, on 09/28/2008, -4/+141What? No iPod accessibility for the deaf? Totally discriminatory.
- Gabberwok, on 09/28/2008, -1/+115Venetian?
- Shaggy3, on 09/28/2008, -3/+74The blind Digg users are going to love this article.
- bryson430, on 09/28/2008, -0/+63Since when were blind people called "blinds"? It's not even offensive...it's nonsensical.
- jaswah, on 09/28/2008, -1/+53Do i need to wait for the next revision for accessibility for my french doors?
- aresef, on 09/28/2008, -0/+39Blinds, sure, but no Windows.
- ElBeh, on 09/28/2008, -2/+40***** you, my curtains are feeling left out.
- Darkaged, on 09/28/2008, -7/+35It's funny because deaf people can't hear music
- wedges, on 09/28/2008, -1/+27thats because you are an idiot.
- unconfirmed, on 09/28/2008, -2/+28May I suggest 'Queens of the Stone Age'?
- RMoore08, on 09/28/2008, -6/+27A whole new meaning to the term "iPod Touch".
- AriaStar, on 09/28/2008, -4/+23About time the blinds are accommodated! My poor slat blinds finally feel appreciated and not quite so misunderstood and ignored.
- inactive, on 09/28/2008, -1/+20thanks for not discriminating against the dumb
- Zervaman, on 09/28/2008, -1/+17What's the point? "Blinds" can already use an iPod, it's just that they have to play that "guess that tune" game all the time.
/s - sockpuppets, on 09/28/2008, -2/+17Drape me.
Drape me, my friend.
Drape me.
Drape me, again. - betheturtle, on 09/28/2008, -0/+13I have a chair which gets lonely sometimes... it'd be nice if the antidepressant industry would address the issue of furniture.
- iatethecake, on 09/28/2008, -4/+15i misread the title as "Apple to Make iTunes & iPod Completely accessible to the Deaf"
- sockpuppets, on 09/28/2008, -1/+12I wish I could see what you did there.
- neilhicks, on 09/28/2008, -2/+13The use of the word 'blinds' in the title is offensive. I'm not sure how I feel about it.
- jayj95, on 09/28/2008, -2/+11A victory for blind people who like iPods and iTunes.
- antoniuk, on 09/28/2008, -1/+10@jay95: I dugg you up because no one can be that stupid and not have drank bleach by the age of 2. Kudos for being hooked on phonics as a kid.
- MalDON, on 09/28/2008, -1/+10My blind friend already uses itunes and his ipod...
- ToastPop, on 04/17/2009, -1/+9OH SNAP
- pyrotix, on 09/28/2008, -1/+8Your joke was funny but deaf people can still feel bass.
- Diggnabbit, on 09/28/2008, -2/+8I see what you did there.
(Are you happy now, Digg? Are you? I posted a stupid Digg meme. I just hope you're happy!) - Jeffler, on 09/29/2008, -0/+6By the time it does all that you have no battery level
- JoshuaGross, on 09/28/2008, -0/+5I think it was only put there because of title length restrictions. Gizmodo says "to the blind."
"Blinds" definitely sounds ridiculous. - blackjack75, on 09/28/2008, -1/+5What about people who login just to make an obvious joke but have a physical inability preventing them to see it's been done in the first comments?
- Matteos, on 09/29/2008, -0/+4 Not with earbuds you cant.
- Jaq524, on 09/29/2008, -0/+4I see what you did there.
- stellamaris, on 09/28/2008, -0/+4My ipod screen has been broken for months, and I still use it.
- inactive, on 09/28/2008, -1/+5cookie for you
- TiMMY8765, on 09/28/2008, -0/+4yeah it can read menus, directories, track names, and even your battery level
- abajaj2280, on 09/29/2008, -0/+3uh they actually did.
- jrm125, on 09/28/2008, -1/+4But iTunes doesn't even work half the time for those of us that can see...
- Aurash91, on 09/28/2008, -1/+4i could have sworn rock box could do the same...
- EskNerd, on 09/29/2008, -0/+3And "Blinds" looks like "Deaf" how?
- dmazzoni, on 09/29/2008, -0/+3Um, do people not realize that there are over a million blind people who use computers every day? Almost certainly some of them read Digg. Most use a "screen reader" that reads the screen to them (usually speaking very quickly for efficiency) and some use a braille display. Most use ordinary computers with an ordinary keyboard, just some special software and maybe an extra accessory like the braille display.
- Zervaman, on 09/28/2008, -0/+2A lot of companies, apple included, are working on tactile feedback for touch screens. I didn't realize this before, but I guess braille could be implemented. Don't know when the tech will reach consumers, though.
- iatethecake, on 09/28/2008, -6/+8Well, I'm sorry I didn't know that problems with my eyesight influence my intellect, though that may be cause I'm an "idiot."
- KibibyteBrain, on 09/29/2008, -0/+2There must be more blind people in the world than people who use Linux for home computing. Sad, from a linux user...
- hollywoodphony, on 09/28/2008, -2/+4That's fine, but they've done nothing to address accessibility for the legless.
- MasterQ, on 09/29/2008, -0/+2narrator told me what you did there
- erzhaosong2000, on 09/29/2008, -0/+2I am.
- Ratking, on 09/28/2008, -0/+2At last - Blinds are like Regulars. Thanks to the House of the Future and thanks to Menocu!
- alexhladun, on 09/29/2008, -0/+2look up, it's been done.
- epstephen, on 09/29/2008, -0/+21) It'd be awesome if a third-party manufacturer can develop some kind of accessory allowing us fully-seeing folks to be able to manage the iPod by voice while driving.
2) This benefits more than those with blindness. This is a boon to anyone with any kind of condition that impairs the use of their hands. - joebleaux, on 09/29/2008, -0/+1F3!
