- knowall, on 10/12/2007, -6/+102um.. not to be an ass... but why is everyone so gullible?
Has a random photobucket/flickr photo EVER been real? EVER? - ani-pockdotnet, on 10/12/2007, -4/+65Awesome- If you look at the meta data, it says Adobe Photoshop CS Macintosh
If it was from the camera, if would of printed the model and maker. Of course, the poster could always claim they needed to enhance the image for quality... - jackcheng, on 10/12/2007, -5/+61Total fake. The font's wrong, two much space between the words... and why would there be an iMac in there?
Also, I doubt Apple would leave a banner like that just hanging out without anything cover it. Remember the WWDC banners? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+33Rwasons I call ***** on this:
1. Font is not Apple official (per their own guidelines).
2. Font is out of line and spaced wrong for Apple's own guidelines.
3. Apple is known for catchy phrases...not 2 words non-sequitors(i.e. the stars).
4. The Apple logo is on the edge of the 'banner'. As if apple would make their own logo 'fall off' an advert.
5. The reflection of the 'iPod' doesn't match the size of the main one.
6. Front Row(on the iPod) is aligned to the left, whereas theREAL Front Row(on a Mac) is centered.
7. No Wallpaper on the iMac
8. The Wallpaper on the iMac is pixelated, but the surrounding items are not.
9. The Dock on the iMac is not the correct perspective.
10. The iMac and its base do not line up in perspective.
11. The 20th century style 'Movie Lights' are too far left and are not given more importance.(i.e. if this were real, they would be predominant in the image)
12. The iPod OS shows a black bar on top where the battery is indicated. This is against Apple GUI Guidelines.
13. No matter how hard they tried, the image of the 'venue' and the 'banner' do not match blur ratio.
14. Image is stamped by 'Adobe Photoshop CS Macintosh' and not the supposed camera
15. The image is dated 9/5/06 and everyone knows Apple wouldn't be stupid enough to have anything this big up this early.
16. The banner is wavy, but the images are straight(see the bottom near the right side of the iPod reflection)
17. Bleeding lines.
That should about do it.
Worst ***** EVER.
NO DIGG. - merle2, on 10/12/2007, -3/+34Unless the new iPod is going to feature a DVD player, this is obviously a fake. The front row interface has a logo for iPhoto, iTunes, DVD Player, and iMovie. There is no way or reason to have a DVD player in an iPod. Nice try.
- whalesalad, on 10/12/2007, -5/+31It's obviously fake. The front row stuff is off center, too far off center. there is no padding on the left side. Plus, those corners are way too rounded... this is obviously fake!
Also.. look at the top left corner of the iMac, it clearly oversteps the physical bounds of that hanging banner.
I was excited, but its a FAKE! - threepio, on 10/12/2007, -4/+26Damnit, Jim - that looks like Front Row!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23Ipods will be playing DVD's now? (DVD icon in front row)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21That's a really BAD fake.
- Dihuko, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Fake.....................................................But it would be awesome if it was real.
- tank_47, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Why do people say it's photoshopped? This one is so badly done that I would call it "MS painted"...
- Powerdrift, on 10/12/2007, -7/+20No, this is a total fake. It's just obvious.
- Soulscribe, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15One of the four front row icons is a disc, which you select to play dvds (from a drive, not through itunes). Why would front row on the iPod have a disc icon?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Photobucket will probably take the image down due to bandwidth.
Mirror: http://duggmirror.com/apple/Apple_showtime_event_Poster_Spotted/647f2942.jpg - tygern, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10@ MacManiac23
You're a jerk. - kampfy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Hey kid. Look at the banner. Look at the top of it. Notice how there are parts of the iMac that go ABOVE THE BANNER? That means it's Photoshopped, and it's a very badly done Photoshopping at that. Quit being so gullible.
- ersnyder, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10It's a fake. The balance in graphic design doesn't follow the Apple way. Plus there are a few sharpness/blurry discrepancies. Oh, and the metadata issue that was mentioned above.
- gunnerycox, on 10/12/2007, -6/+14FAKE. The font, and the tag line makes little sense. and why would it be in the theater like that.
- titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11That is such a great photoshop /sarcasm
Besides i've seen the sam exact iPod elswhere on a rumor site, and why doesn't the dock line up right? Thought so. - daverules, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10The original image might not have been taken in a theater. It could be in the preconvention space, or an exhibit hall. Although, it's probably a fake.
It looks like a Photoshop CS file that has a datestamp of 9-5-2006. It also looks really funny if you zoom in. Some areas of the image are really sharp. - iBenzin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10nope its being held in the yerba buena center in SF
- archivist, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11because
- catullus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9this is dumb. they wouldn't reveal their flagship product on a poster for everyone to see as soon as they arrive. it's going to be hidden until jobs says the magic three words (and we all know what *they* are)
- tobias-digital, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Maybe the next gen iPods are Remotes for your Mac.
- digger_twit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Let's see...

Fake - ellingswin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8The iMac goes off the banner!!!
The right side isn't a straight line. - chewy5000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Why is it that these photos are always blurry? Oh yeah, so people can hide the crappy photoshop work they did.
If it is real, i hear a court case coming on! - smellythai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Alright. As you can clearly see, the iPod shows a version of front row.
There are the options.
1. Movies
2. Pictures
3. Music
4. DVDs ?
im pretty sure you cant stick a dvd in there - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5elgolfo...here is a chance to sort of prove you didn't make this up in a sorry and desperate attempt to get attention...
If you didn't make this picture yourself, then surely you found it somewhere on the internet. So...why did you upload it to your own photobucket account and submit that, rather than link to the page you got it from? - mitts2010, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Because it was probably supposed to be taken with a camera phone, and it's fake.
- DelMonte, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Look everyone, it's the guy that's obsessed with the expression "Apple humpers"!
Let's laugh at him while he wastes his mind repeating the same words for the 1254 times. - Yankees368, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4None..that is why the picture is a fake
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4...And the reflection of the ipod doesn't reflect 'Front Row'
- tsunamisteve, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Look at the bad perspective on the iMac's dock.
- cdman98, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4and the "banner" is lit like a Christmas Tree, while there is few lights / bad lighting
- washboard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3why are they always blurry?
- tipdog32, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3looks like a cell phone quality picture, what cell phone takes wide screen pictures?
- nosferatu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4yeah, because when you've got a brand new 24-inch imac you're going to want to watch your dvds on a five inch screen...
- archivist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2this doesnt follow apple's brand guidelines (and i should know). it's a faker.
- redwire, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I am not saying its real in any way and I was thinking the same thing, DVD icon on an iPod, its clearly just front row photoshopped in.
BUT
It could simply be a division between the movies from the new movie store under the DVD icon and TV Show's etc under the regular movie icon.
Just a thought. - dombi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Play around with the image brightness/contrast, you will see some interesting things with it.... looks fake.
- concept, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2that is correct, i was told the new ipod will support hd 480; was unsure about movie downloads but I think once purchased you can download in all hd formats. wait and see
- zenmouse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Really, really bad. Why are people digging this trash?
- DiamondDog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Umm Apple doesn't hang banners at media events...
And if they did, why is the banner so bright?? Are the point a spot light at the banner they are supposed to be hiding?? Come on guys. Leave the Photoshop work to the artists please. - xistboi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Mirror:
http://dyn.uneasysilence.com/miscfiles/647f2942.jpg - pandapoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Photoshop!
- fredsterss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"AppleEmployee" ; thats a pretty inconspicuous name you got there
- gklitt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If only people reported dupe comments as much as they reported dupe stories...
- r2builder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't like blowing my own trumpet - but I am. I get paid to daily sort through 2000+ photos and make them look their best, and I have had 4 years of digital photography & graphic design school. Therefore I would say, without feeling big-headed, that I am a photo expert. If you'd care to read what I think of the photo - it's a few posts up.
- catullus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5lighten up dickweed. anyone who follows apple at all knows that jobs says "one more thing..." at all the big press conferences. if you're not someone who follows apple news why are you wasting your time commenting on or reading this story?
