- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+16No, I did not sell the account, still the same

that's what you get you little bastard... - AssProphet, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10@steal_apps01 Spitting up what you think will get you dugg?
Scientology is bad
Apple is cool
Windows is ok
"linux, bsd, unix... are cool because most of them are open source and free."
What the hell.. that's not why they're cool. MySpace, viruses, and cat ***** are free, they cool too? Dumbass. - gunnerycox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8They denied sending people to train for such a device. This Article Twists the facts to make a hot headline.
- ParanoiaAgent, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7If they say 'yes, it's coming', people will stop buying them(ipods), and wait for the cool, wireless version. I don't think any statements should be taken at face value.
- noeljohnhoward, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8whats the story with that,
i thought you did sell? - SteaminTmann, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6maybe not wi-fi wireless. I for one, would love to see bluetooth headphones. That would make me buy a new ipod
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6"sending files from ur iPod to your pals"
when hell feezes over, this will be allowed. - daldredge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Apple will ad wireless when sales start to slip. It will be an easy way to get current owners to rebuy the product.
Business 101. - heavensblade23, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Wireless on an ipod would only be good for quick syncs. You'd never make it through syncing an entire library before your battery ran out. I'm not sure I can see Apple implementing wireless unless they have a way to do it elegantly.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7quick steve jobs farted post a story on digg about him denying it.
- ThinkBox, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6well, they said that that the market wasn't there yet - well not enough to support a product, but having it as a extra (not main) feature on a product that retains its popular functionality was how they chose to implement it.
Wireless would add much complexity to the ipod, while relatively little improvement (improvement based on a factor of complexity / sacrifice of easy UI).
bluetooth is a power hog and slow, if you are close enough to use bluetooth then you are close enough to walk up and plug it in for 50X the speed - TGMD, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hubris
Honestly never underestimate Microsoft that's what apple did in the 80's and now look... - zetsurin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5@flag564

First you fanboys say Apple will beat MS with Wi-Fi
Then you said that Wi-Fi isnt all that important
Then you say that Wi-Fi is a stupid idea
Then you Say Apple wont do it unless there is a slip in sales
Then you say since Apple denies it then it means it's true
Then you want to mark the story as inaccurate.

You sound like a totally delusional character that believes that he has been talking to the same person rather than _different_ people all the time.
Negative news stories about Apple are great ways of weeding out the trolls. Perfect fodder for the block button. The skies just got that little bit clearer today *click* - highpass, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Agreed, zet, although flag, along with appleosux and ipsec, make for some funny reading at times - at their expense of course.
- DjOverEZ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3First Google announces no nationwide wi-fi, now Apple announces no wireless iPod, what's next, no Santa Claus?
- tuxuser, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3damn right os x is ahead i agree
- bmwxcoupe, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Who would want a Microsoft made MP3 player? It would crash all the time, and the iPod will always be one step ahead, as OS X is with Windows.
- tommajor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3It's better that they deny a rumor immediately then let it go and people are disappointed when it is released.

@ zetsurin: digging down pathetic, chronic lamers like flag564 is even more satisfying than blocking... - wolfzero, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4This is inaccurate...read the source article at Digitimes.com, it's just saying that 'market analysts' are predicting a wireless iPod. I'm not sure who they asked at Apple Taiwan, but of course they're going to deny it, if they comment at all, especially considering Apple's history of secrecy. I don't think there was any active dialog with Apple here and just some 'creative' journalism.
Digitimes article (in its entirety):
"Apple Computer is expected to launch soon a new iPod that supports wireless capabilities so as to compete with Microsoft's planned year-end launch of its Zune-branded MP3 players, according to market sources.
Apple's headquarters has begun dispatching its staff to its major markets in Asia, to teach local sales how to demonstrate the new products, the sources noted.
Apple Taiwan, however, denied the market reports. "
Marking this as inaccurate. - surfing, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5ha ha
- dignon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Who cares about WiFi anyway?!? Lower battery performance and slower data transfer speeds... oh yay. What I want is Firewire back! Preferably FW800. USB2 sucks azz.
- cpbrown, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Last year apple said no to video iPod ... and then released one later that week.
- cpbrown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0too much battery consumption.
- kingace, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2The thing I like about the idea of an iPod is that it has all the music on one, independent device... I wouldn't want a Wi-Fi iPod anyway...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I like iPods wired anyway... like the one below!
http://digg.com/apple/This_is_why_I_love_the_Apple_Store - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"According to a report at DigiTimes, Apple Taiwan dismissed the claims of "market sources" that the Mac maker is sending staff to Asia to teach the locals how to sell the iPod's rumoured wireless capabilities. It also appears to have poo-poo'd claims about the device itself."
I cant take an article seriously when their writers poor choice of words like "poo-poo'd" substitue proper English. - Migalicious, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Mark my words:
I'm no Apple fan boy, but within a year, there will be wireless iPods, but not using WiFi. I'm thinking WiMax, but I might be wrong. It will allow syncing of files, and sharing your playlist to other people (ala Itunes Shares, but from the iPod itself). - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5The person who won, did not pay, or even respond.
- whackaxe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1they're just retaining the rights to laugh at Zune's battery life if need be. then, like the PowerPC vs Intel Benchmarks on the G5 technology page, these claims will discreetly disappear to be replaced with "Apple's has fine history in wireless"
- tuxuser, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1this is true but the video is only an add on not a fully commited feature steve won't do much with. while itunes does have movies show and the like it aimed more at home desktops and laptops.
- soulcatcher78, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2adding bluetooth headphone capability wouldn't be to difficult *given the prevalance of the similar tech being used in cell phones* and that's probably as close as they would want to get to being a "wireless" device unless they can figure out how to get more power from that little battery.
- flag564, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2"This is inaccurate...read the source article at Digitimes.com, it's just saying that 'market analysts' are predicting a wireless iPod. I'm not sure who they asked at Apple"
So let me get this straight.
When a story came out that the Zune was "shedding features", you fankids were the first to run with it as if tit was the word form God because, surprise, it was a negative story on Microsoft.
Now a negative story on Apple, and guess what??????
"This is inaccurate"
Have negative story on Apple? Will mark as inaccurate. - Clemenceau, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2It's a good move to say that they aren't, because the hype could just get huge if they didn't say something, and it would feel like a let-down after so long.
- inkswamp, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Apple has a history of denying the existence of future products (the most recent of which was a flat denial of the video iPod prior to its arrival) so this is meaningless.
- daldredge, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5Absent any proof the account didn't sell a one sentence comment with absoluty no way of knowing if it is true or not is being dugg up to the sky.
some will digg anything. - sgtscherer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0epic 2015 comes to mind...
- JohnFrisco, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Apple denied it. That must mean it is true!
- aklobby, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1A wireless iPod would connect to the airport express so you would have the ability change songs on the home stereo and see playlist without going to a docking station. Sounds cool to me, I'd buy one for that reason alone.
- flag564, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1You guys also screamed fo Wi-Fi. Now all of a sudden it was never a big deal?
Who do you guys think you are fooling? - EXIDY, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I'm with Jeffsters on this... who's wanting/needing WiFi capabilities in their iPod??? The beuty of the iPod is the ease of use of syncing the iPod's iTunes library with a desktop unit's iTunes library. No sweat ... it just works!!! Flawlessly and accurately. Via the current USB2 link (I really preferred the Firewire).
I really want the Bluetooth wireless headphone (I'd prefer earbuds-noise, cancelling if possible, even if a wire was required between the 2 buds.)
When Apple introduced the video feature on the iPod, they didn't just add the video onto the smallish iPod screen, they actually deliver a whole new multimedia venue that provided HiRes presentation of Video, sold a new concept to the network media to sell individual segments (@ $1.99) the day after airing on TV, before the rerun or DVD release, or most pirated distribution/copying begins.
I say that one should actually take the time to go view a program on someones video iPod ... the clarity on such a small screen is quite amazing. Nevertheless, 98% of my daily use is actually listening AND enjoying large music library in shuffle mode. I LOVE MY IPOD !!! - LogosX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Supposedly the next ipod is going to be EVDO enabled.
- cviebrock, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Wasn't that the Mossberg quote used in the keynote? "Hell froze over."
- sgtscherer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1No holes in IE7? oh wait..
- steal_apps01, on 10/12/2007, -8/+6Hate for Scientology but apple pretty cool, windows gets the job done if you know how to use it, and linux, bsd, unix... are cool because most of them are open source and free.
- jeffsters, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I'm just an idiot! I can't for the life of me imagine why I would give a F___ abotu WiFi on my iPod! Even transferring a few 2-3 MB files over my "G" wireless network sucks. Don't even ask me about swapping with my Tivo! I guess I'm supposed to find a free hot-spot while I'm out and buy songs? Ok...I guess. Share songs? Umm...no thanks. I'm sorry I'm NOT getting this at all. I would love bluetooth if someone could come up with cool wireless headphones. A larger screen option would be cool. But again...WiFi? Someone slap me upside the head and tell my why I want this?
- rocky89, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0"when hell freezes over, this will be allowed"
