- crsd36, on 03/10/2009, -9/+321***** this.
- UbIwerks, on 03/10/2009, -4/+256Heavens to Betsy, this is downright poppycock.
Fiddlesticks! - v4vishal, on 03/10/2009, -3/+197Oh, and in iPhone v3, apple will reject the phone facility. People say horrible things on the phone...
- theak, on 03/10/2009, -6/+155idiots. Innovative apps are the reason people use iphones. I hope someone high enough in the Apple chain-of-command sees this and does something smart about the app store for once.
- nickbr00tality, on 03/10/2009, -4/+115Stupid.
- Wilddigi, on 03/10/2009, -8/+115No cut&paste, no flash, no foul language. What next, you need to be over 18 to buy one? I agree that Apple has a right to deny apps, but this is dumbass.
- unconquerable, on 03/10/2009, -1/+90Apple Fanboy checking in, Apple: ***** YOU!
- Caleb83, on 03/10/2009, -1/+83I've noticed on the craigslist apps, they block out the entire personals section from being accessed because of the material that may be in there. Nothing stopping you from opening craigslist in a browser though. Pretty lame if you ask me. I'm 25 with no kids. Why do I need a family friendly device?
- mohrt, on 03/10/2009, -0/+70Hey stop swearing, or they'll reject the digg app.
- thelastcivilian, on 03/10/2009, -4/+72This is [CENSORED]. Apple is flat-out [CENSORED] on this one.
- TheCoolestNerd, on 03/10/2009, -3/+71Usually its ***** microsoft, but now its ***** apple!
It's not 1984 anymore, definitly not... - MacPhill, on 03/10/2009, -2/+65Technically you do need to be over 18, since you're taking out a contract with the carrier...
- mrfreeziexp, on 03/10/2009, -11/+73Palm Pre can't come fast enough.
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 03/10/2009, -0/+59You mean poppyc***, right?
- mharroun, on 03/10/2009, -2/+61Your using an apple device.
Apple decides what you need and dont need. - gcnaddict, on 03/10/2009, -13/+62Can we just boycott the iPhone already and move on to better, more usable platforms like Android? (I'll couple Windows Mobile with Android once WinMo hits 7)
- yocouchdigga, on 03/10/2009, -8/+54***** Apple.
- illuuu, on 03/10/2009, -3/+48wtf Apple... wtf
- xR0e, on 03/10/2009, -2/+47They must be pissed about the $200 gift cards going for $2.60
- ohwell05, on 03/10/2009, -4/+49Apple is trying to protect its right to be a snob
- Gee1004, on 03/10/2009, -3/+46The next version, it will block porn sites
- homercles337, on 03/10/2009, -4/+46Yea, the apps are the shiznit! Need to add 2 and 2? There's an app for that. Have you forgotten your name? There's and app for that. Have you neglected taking your meds? There's an app for that...
- CoD4, on 03/10/2009, -0/+28There's got to be a better way to say that
- MrJagil, on 03/10/2009, -0/+28NO!
- EtherGnat, on 03/10/2009, -0/+28"Have you neglected taking your meds? There's an app for that..."
Yes, it automatically detects when you've started to shake from withdrawal. - Trifold, on 03/10/2009, -6/+33I knew there was a reason I got a G1 instead.
- serif69, on 03/10/2009, -0/+25Well golly gee willickers, slap my knee and call me Shirley if you ain't right!
- ElTomacco, on 03/10/2009, -0/+22have you ever read the personals on CL? That's exactly where guys who already have families go to find women (or men.)
- YourMomsAnAnon, on 03/10/2009, -2/+21That, and you need a credit card to purchase from the iTunes store.
- IllBeBack, on 03/10/2009, -0/+18Your comment will be censored by the App Store and no one will ever read it.
- forgeuk, on 03/10/2009, -5/+23Have you noticed, in any iPhone app that involves typing in text, if you type the word '*****' the spelling correction alters it to 'Duck'....nice....Apple can be such stupid Duckers sometimes!
- 5seconds, on 03/10/2009, -1/+19Shouldn't Apple diable the telephone part of the iphone now? I can swear on a phone call, so what's the difference?
- mpn401, on 03/10/2009, -1/+18And this is why people jailbreak.
- ahawks, on 03/10/2009, -2/+19Things like this are why I Jailbroke my phone this weekend. Not for any specific apps I wanted, but the principle. It's my ***** phone, and I'll put on it what I want. Apple has no say.
- digiguy, on 03/10/2009, -1/+17iPhone= NSFW
- robotfriendly, on 03/10/2009, -1/+17I think you're missing the point.
- blapierre, on 03/10/2009, -2/+17Apple can't stop malware either.
Android apps only have the permissions the user gives. If the calculator you want to download requests permission for unlimited internet access then maybe you shouldn't get it. - inactive, on 03/10/2009, -0/+15Hello? You there? I can't hear anything.
- jwmann, on 03/10/2009, -0/+15Gotta use those accelerometers for something!
- ToyotaRyan, on 03/10/2009, -3/+18This one rejection will probably be reversed real quick. For one they are getting tons of bad press since this has surfaced. Second it is a real stupid reason to do so, lets ban Safari because you can Google the word "*****". Third they are messing with the twitterverse, bad move.
- thelastcivilian, on 03/10/2009, -4/+18I see what you did there.
- dustinmacdonald, on 03/10/2009, -1/+14Would be reasonable if that was the truth. It's not.
- geodebug, on 03/10/2009, -1/+14I'm with you but I'm not giving up my iPhone until better Android hardware arrives (and my contract runs out - sigh). What I've seen so far is not to my taste at all.
-- probably the only guy on Digg that prefers the touch-screen keyboard because even with my huge thumbs I can type around 45-50 wpm on an iPhone with pretty reasonable accuracy. - hmunkey, on 03/11/2009, -0/+13poppycunt
- Caleb83, on 03/10/2009, -1/+13I wanna bury you, mharroun, but only because I didn't like what I read. That sucks.
- PhillAholic, on 03/10/2009, -2/+148 years of ***** Microsoft for me has brought us Windows 7. Maybe if we turn to 8 years of ***** Apple we'll get similar results. It would be a hell of a lot easier. Apple doesn't really need to improve anything, just let people do what they want, and program simple things that are in every phone other then the iphone!
- BlueCadenza, on 03/10/2009, -1/+13Yeah. As attractive as the iphone was to me, the fact that applications are hand picked and many are pay to use deterred me from it. Well its just more than the applications, the whole thing is closed off. I can't browse the filesystem, I can't write my own programs if I want to do something unique with it, the interface is highly uncustomizable. If I want the icons to appear in folders and not just icons I can't do that. If I want to icons to show as a list I can't do that. If I want to sort by last modified or by games and organizers I can't.
- sumguy231, on 03/11/2009, -0/+12The iPod Touch runs the same OS and the same apps, and doesn't require a contract.
- spoonchucks, on 03/10/2009, -0/+11ricopicouk: It already does! Ever try writing ***** on the iphone? It NEVER wants to learn that ***** word.
It sucks when you get pissed, because you end up saying ***** like: "go duck yourself" and "I ducking hate you." - jamaph, on 03/10/2009, -0/+10The problem with these blogs complaining about Apple's rejection of this Twitter app, is that they all assume Devs will leave the app store.
This is completely and utterly far from the truth. Besides ruffling the feathers of niche markets like us (the community of digg) and techies, the average market place could care less...
We need to remember that Apple has sold 17+ million iPhones. It's currently the holder of the most robust and profitable handset marketplace in the world. It's those two factors that, regardless of a Devs heart break of having an app denied, will keep them coming back with more ideas to try and get something that sticks.
Guys we are talking serious money, get the right app, get the chance of becoming an overnight millionaire. -
