I should also sell my textbooks on Ebay before a "new edition" comes out. (which seems to be every 3 months). - CDoug03, on 05/30/2008, -3/+48Back to school was so last year.
- diggtochina, on 05/30/2008, -12/+57Headline: Some one at Apple is taking a *****!!
- Russell89, on 05/29/2008, -9/+45Sweet!!!!!!!
Free iPod touch FTW !!!!! - inactive, on 05/30/2008, -5/+38Why is an unconfirmed rumor allowed to be on the front page?
Here's a rumor. Steve Jobs has worn the same pair of boxers for the past thirty years. FRONT PAGE, AHOY! - 2Deluxe, on 05/30/2008, -7/+35Free laptops?! Apple doesn't even give service packs away for free ;) ZING.
- arjung, on 05/30/2008, -9/+32i hope not, that would mean i'm no longer the only person i know with an ipod touch.
/fanboyism
/douchiness - Owwmykneecap, on 05/30/2008, -4/+27Most kids are only just or not even off school yet, this is like companies who advertise Christmas junk before Halloween is even gone.
Stop ruining the feeling that Summer lasts forever... - onetimeuse, on 05/30/2008, -5/+26maybe i'll have to hold off getting a vaio...
- inactive, on 05/30/2008, -3/+19Summer vacation is not even here yet.
- Sil369, on 05/30/2008, -4/+19*****
- stirlo, on 05/30/2008, -6/+19sexy.. dell.. same sentence?
- Risingashes, on 05/30/2008, -7/+20Why are these guys getting Dugg down? High price is a perfectly legitimate concern.
Some people don't want to pay a massive premium for shiny packaging. - plr4ever, on 05/30/2008, -2/+13...well when it's a yearly deal...
- Ocelot13, on 05/30/2008, -3/+14so, article doesnt really say anything interesting. just this is what they did in the past...
buried as lame. - DonSlice, on 05/30/2008, -6/+16Maybe this is the year I get a Mac...
- FDDIcent, on 05/30/2008, -5/+15if you actually compare prices between same specification macs and pc's you'll see they are the same. Apple just doesn't sell cheap low end laptops, so you just keep buying a new $600 dell every year cause they're so reasonably priced.
- ThePwnyExpress, on 05/30/2008, -2/+12i'm still on a powerbook g4.... been wanting to upgrade to a macbook pro though...
- UpperUpsilon, on 05/30/2008, -0/+10What? No! Apple employees don't poop!
- deadbaby, on 05/30/2008, -0/+9This is an educational discount primarily for students. It has nothing to do with enterprise/business computing.
- fLUx1337, on 05/30/2008, -3/+12Hope its good and doesn't include getting a product I don't need as an incentive (i.e. iPod).
I was just this second looking on eBay too see how much Macbooks are selling for, and as usual Macs keep like 80% of there value, even if its a year old!! Guess that's a good thing, though I will be keeping mine until it dies.
Though trying to work out how I can afford it, £750 here with a student discount, around $1500. So hopefully Apple gives us £100 ($200) off or something, that would be sweet.......but still wouldn't be what you Americans pay! Jesus I hate my country so much.....VAT can go to hell!! xD - inactive, on 05/30/2008, -0/+9I love me some Linux, but seriously... non-geeks need not apply. My goddamn WiFi card still won't work.
- boffert, on 05/30/2008, -3/+11*You're* an idiot. Sigh.
- rgon, on 05/30/2008, -5/+13Laptops for some, miniature American flags for all!
- Sil369, on 05/30/2008, -2/+10shut up
- FDDIcent, on 05/30/2008, -1/+9waste your time? you obviously had enough time to waste leaving a comment here.
- fLUx1337, on 05/30/2008, -1/+9iKnow
- lnfiniteLoop, on 05/29/2008, -3/+11And I'm burying your comment cause you have no idea what you're talking about. Wait till next week.
- popltree2, on 05/30/2008, -0/+8That would be a huge backback.
- inactive, on 05/30/2008, -0/+7iPood
- TheWindBlows, on 05/30/2008, -1/+8iDied, a little inside.
- ross., on 05/30/2008, -2/+9This is *****, there's no substance to this article. I'm an Apple fanboy and even this is too much.
- Vector713, on 05/30/2008, -0/+6For the record, you did not have to click the link to the article. For that matter, if stories about apple perturb you to such lengths, there is a digg setting that allows you to filter the articles that show up for you! How about that!
So the next time you consider leaving a comment just to bitch about having your time wasted by an article YOU ***** clicked on... check your digg settings and think again.
Have a nice day. :) - adml_shake, on 05/30/2008, -1/+7Well hopefully it's an actual deal and not some "well give you 200 bucks off if you add on a 200 dollar device or more that you probably already own" crap they did last year. I also wonder if they do offer some price off of their macbook line if that's on top of the Student and Teacher discount you can get already.
- FDDIcent, on 05/30/2008, -0/+6yeah but those greedy little guys convince mommy and daddy that they need their "school" computer now so they have time to get used to it before the semester starts.
- steviesteveo, on 05/30/2008, -0/+6It's never a good idea to cut yourself off from free laptops, what will the spam mailers do now?
Believe it or not, should someone hand me a free macbook pro, I'd probably say thank you and be happy I don't need to pay for a new laptop. You'd have to -hate- Apple to turn down free stuff - HolyChimp, on 05/30/2008, -0/+6It varies. Normally when Apple refreshes a product line they are some of the best value hardware in a bang/buck manner, but Dell and co. drop their prices and upgrade their lines a lot more than Apple do, so the Dell becomes the better deal. Then Apple refreshes the line....
- Buckeye17, on 05/30/2008, -25/+30If they could slash the price to that of a PC, I'd consider getting one.
- cgrado, on 05/30/2008, -2/+7The iRack! it looks unstable! Why is it smoking?
Here let me just throw more money at it... - DMCer, on 05/30/2008, -1/+6It's called Boot Camp, and you're a bit late.
- rdhazrd, on 05/30/2008, -1/+6Hey, to each his own. Good luck with your Dell. Oh ya, might want to read this:
http://digg.com/tech_news/Court_Finds_Dell_Guilty_ ... - HolyChimp, on 05/30/2008, -0/+5And Dell and plenty of other people cater to that market perfectly already. Are you going to complain at Dell because they don't make their own operating system like Apple does? Or because they don't offer a small headless machine like the Mini, a 'worlds thinnest laptop' like the MacBook Air (pointless as it maybe) or an all-in-one machine like the iMac?
- inactive, on 05/30/2008, -1/+6No, they actually spelled everything right - That must have taken them a few tries.
- inactive, on 05/30/2008, -1/+5More plural apostrophes -- should I just get used to it???
I feel like I'm beating my head against the wall here (or should I say "hear").
I know the US is slowly becoming a third world country but I stil find myself shaking my fist at the Gods.
Maybe I should just think of the fall of the Soviet Union? That's how its probably going to happen to the US, anyway ... the stoke of a pen late at night / wake up in the morning and its every state on their own...
OK; OK. I guess that would make us a "second world" nation --> which isn't as bad. (?) - luchid, on 05/30/2008, -1/+5I was with you up until you called him a homosexual to insult him. Homophobia is a big no-no,
- fLUx1337, on 05/30/2008, -0/+4Yep I mean the normal Macbook, the Pro is way out of my budget. Lowest priced Macbook Pro (15") works out at $2600.
Not sure why we pay that much, even VAT at 17.5% doesn't justify it at all. Its simply rip-off Britain....bah... - DeathGod321, on 05/30/2008, -4/+8Did someone hijack my rss feed or has the tech section turned solely into the apple section?
- Tenlow, on 05/30/2008, -2/+6You mean like the mac mini?
