- markormesher, on 10/12/2007, -4/+59why are people expecting a new ipod at this event?
it's a show designed for movie industry professional folks, not consumers!
stop. being. morons. - Blackmane, on 10/12/2007, -3/+43Not as good as endgadget.
- jackmaninov, on 10/12/2007, -2/+42Expect TV commercials to get much spiffier around 6 months from now...
- iBookG4, on 10/12/2007, -2/+35@blackp0w3r
Go die in a fire. - phoenixrip, on 10/12/2007, -3/+35YES!!!! Finally, real 3d implementation in motion.
This is why love apple - Jimzip, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24Let's not overlook Motion 3, with full 3D functionality!! Thank you Apple!
This is something that Motion has really been lacking in, and now that app is going to really be the center of my workflow. You have to hand it to them, it may take a while for Apple to get things out the door, but when they do, they do it damn well..
Jimzip :D - FregTK, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20For the record, it is Final Cut Studio 2 that is being released, which includes (among other things) Final Cut Pro 6.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19woah, macromorslive bailed their live coverage and handed it over to engadget.
http://www.macrumors.com/2007/04/15/nab-apple-updates-final-cut-studio/ - Lardquake, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Damn, you were right. :(
- bking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15The multiple resolution/framerate (sans rendering) thing is HUGE for final cut pro. That's one of the big things that separates it from Avid, and a big pain in the ass for FCP editors. The additions to Motion are also excellent, as kicks it a lot closer to the functionality of After Effects.
It may not have been an exciting event for 98% of diggers, but I'm going to have a raging case of blueballs until I get my FCS2. - iliketurtles2, on 11/20/2008, -4/+19Apple Store is down! http://store.apple.com/
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15I just spent months working on a 720p project that combined footage from Mini-DV, Super-8mm, 16mm, 35mm and HDV. It was a nightmare of transcoding to different resolutions and deinterlacing, etc. All that's addressed by this release. Naturally it comes out a few weeks after I finish.
This is a pretty giant upgrade, though. They've addressed pretty much every issue I've ever had with Final Cut Pro. I'll be at NAB tomorrow. Hope they have it up and running on the floor. - Lardquake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Apple could start shipping a cure for cancer wrapped in $100 bills, and some people would still be disappointed...
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -6/+20are you ***** kidding me. I hate you.
- freshserved, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Apple Event coverage from Engadget is always well done. They did an awesome job covering Steve Jobs' MWSF 07 keynote back in January when Apple introduced the iPhone. Keep on the good work.
- clesch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15eek. macbook pros with a bluray recorder would be amazing... but not exactly cheap.
- Dotcommer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12I thought there was a limit to how much text you can put into your comment...
perhaps maybe in an update then? haha - longofest, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Kudos to Engadget. They did a great job with coverage, and definitely beat us out (this time). We (at MacRumors) had to bail because our feed just wasn't as clear as it normally is, and had to rely on summary statements from our source, along with Engadget as well. It just wasn't how we wanted to do our coverage, so we pulled the plug.
- ZachPruckowski, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Blu-Ray drives cost about $500, DVD-RW drive cost $50. Only when drives get below $250 or $200 will Apple include them in anything.
- monkeyrun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11I love all those "Boring ..." comment at the bottom.
It's like they are expecting Sony to announce Playstation 4 at NAB. - Chewie67, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14This is probably too much to hope for, but how about REASONABLY PRICED Blu-Ray drives STANDARD in Mac Pro and MacBook Pro?
- adroit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Store is backup!
store.apple.com - kjm16, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13***** you are blocked
- Morky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8FCP Studio 2? That's it? I was hoping for a Swedish massage with a happy ending.
- ryanblock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Thanks! We do our best.
- DelMonte, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6flag564: how many times will we have to say that the iPhone starts at $500? Again, it just shows that you're not sincere.
How much is Windows Vista again? $450? - Lane5slacker, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10@tomplansmedia
Why didnt I heed your warning?! - Delta-9, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Well, The Apple Store is down, so something new is a coming! ^_^
- Radan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Meh, for a second there, I was actually still hoping for a new Macbook Pro with a Blu-ray reader/writer and a 15" Multi Touch screen, but then reality came and roundhouse kicked me in the face.
- vrikis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Any live stream out? Or when will apple have this on their quicktime page?
- mastahack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4sony was already mentioned in the fact that the combo of their camera's and final cut studio 2 released, therefore i give the chance of blu-ray unprobable, but still on the table.
- iluvhatemail, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I just hope Adobe is taking some notes. It's nice to have this competition between the major players or else they would still expect us to accept pathetic upgrades.
- MikeyTwit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wonderful World covered by Joey Ramone solo, not The Ramones
- colincsl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Shake has been gone for a year or so. However, they are in the works of making a new, more advanced compositing program set to come out next year.
- valkyries, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2does anyone know if they recorded this to video and plan to release it tonight?
- colincornaby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Uh, didn't Final Cut and iMovie start supporting Blu-Ray burning right when the Intel transition was made? I swore I saw an article on that."
No. DVD Studio Pro will support burning HD-DVD to DVD media, but Bluray is nowhere to be seen. - Swift2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3No, no, the file export, and Compressor, do support Blu-ray and HDVD files. There's no hardware announcment here, folks, except for the Octo Mac Pro last week. I want the Blu-Rays or Blu-Ray/HDVD combo (?) when they are practical to offer for an option that's $200 or so.
- jp0692, on 03/01/2008, -1/+3Gah...No display updates :(
- anagoge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The only reason I'm not going to block blackp0w3r is because I do enjoy seeing just how badly fellow Diggers can rip into him.
- SilentSpyder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I never even knew the Red Camera was out. Good *****.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6Wow, akarpo...you are WAYYYY far removed from reality.
- iFungus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Your use of capital letters is disturbing.
- DaMacGamer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1tldr
- wepeel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I can't wait...I'll be at the NAB next year
- crazybrit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I tried editing that twice and gave up.
- Ratteler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2LMFAO!!! I couldn't even paste that into OO!!!!
I think he was trying for a buffer overflow error. - Justin6512, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1video of this anyone?
- konstantinos88, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1dugg for blueballs
