- killiansman, on 10/10/2007, -6/+39Seriously... Where is Leopard??? The new iMac looks amazing and so does iLife, but what we are really waiting for is Leopard.
- PA42, on 10/10/2007, -6/+33I encourage the Mac Haters in this thread to try one. I was a Windows guy since WIndows 3, recently I got a Mac and I couldn't be happier. Don't hate until you see how they don't crash and run smoothly. Never a driver problem, devices work as soon as you plug them in (non-apple devices) and they look much better
- or3n, on 10/10/2007, -7/+27I always like how whenever there's an Apple event of some sort the entire front page of Digg is littered with Apple-related articles.
- OJXs, on 10/10/2007, -3/+21Import/export iWork files to Microsoft Office, now that is good.
- locnguyen, on 10/10/2007, -1/+19Well it is a personal computer you know.
- meamog, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17I dunno, I like to do work AT work and play games on my playstation and TV, for the most part. I like to take care of personal stuff - music, email, web browsing, photos, pr0n, etc - on my home computer. So if I'm buying a computer, and one has better software tailored to what I want to do... Well, you get the picture.
- UtahApocalyse, on 10/10/2007, -5/+20It must be a day that ends in "Y"
- PA42, on 10/10/2007, -3/+17The videos make it look like they made some nice improvements
http://www.apple.com/ilife/ - santiago1, on 10/10/2007, -10/+24 Wow, quite a few Apple related stories today....
- chrishumphreys, on 10/10/2007, -5/+18$79 is a lot of money?
I can't remember...how much does Microsoft Office cost again? - Gee1004, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15No maybe the PC fanboys should stop posting in articles they are not interested in
- zioxide, on 10/10/2007, -4/+17iPhoto updates look nice.. not sure about the new iMovie though.. It looks weird. More like a clip organizer (ala iPhoto) rather than a basic NLE.
- theshrew4, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13At least you can change tempos easily now.
- Gee1004, on 10/10/2007, -3/+14I don't understand. If you are not interested in Apple news, why do you post in them..Geesh
- strax, on 10/10/2007, -3/+14...and a ferarri, like a hyundai, is a car, your point is?
- MacParrot, on 10/10/2007, -5/+15Because their Apple hatred is all they have. Don't take that from them. They'll be crying in their cheerios.
- foolonthehill, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10@onefellswoop
You couldn't change tempo *mid-song* before, which was one of the most significant limitations of Garageband. You can automate tempo now as well as effects etc. It's a major improvement. - JeremyBanks, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10The thing I find most amusing is that my Microsoft mouse works the moment I plug it into my Mac, but it takes several seconds to work when I plug it into my Windows PC.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11I liked Garageband 06. For our music module at University we had to compose a short clip to go along with a video. The tutors provided PCs running Cubase SX but I found it far, far easier to use GarageBand. Not too complex but has enough detail to get some good results.
- Chode2235, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8I was hoping for more with iWeb. Its still missing a little.
- strax, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Apple adds enough good stuff every year to make their upgrades worthwile.
- eddyc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Where the hell is Logic 8, its kinda been a while
- Judge373, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9Most users aren't gamers, and do work on their work computers at...work. They then want their home computer to be more "life & multimedia" centric. Lots of parents are OBSESSED with pics of their kids, btw.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9which brings us to the whole point of those Mac vs PC adverts.
- Spanca, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7No, it doesn't come with the OS. It comes with new Macs, but not the OS.
- mikeyv33, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7except everyone was begging apple to come out with new software....
- nreynolds, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8"Apple" is not an OS.
- strax, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Yes, people with digital still cameras and digital video cameras like to have an easy way to stored, edit, organize and share their stuff. Mac excels at these tasks, as evidenced by how many creative people use macs.
- Mikecol, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Then you didn't see the iWork announcement. Otherwise you'd know Apple released an addition to iWork called Numbers today.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6@over9,
He is being obtuse, dont bother... - enforce1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6iWork has always been able to do that, albeit only with the programs that existed. Pages and Keynote have always been able to import and export Word and Powerpoint files (respectively)... Like, since they came out in January 05.
- superkendall, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6You mean all the Mac users posting from PC's at work? Yeah I wonder why that number is only 16%.
- enforce1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Intel chipped machines have been out for almost 2 years now. There is no way that a company looking to expand its product with features should worry about 2 year old machines.
- blackrich, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Ah, but Steve is waiting for Vista....
... to piss off more PC users. Leopard is not in competition with VIsta, it is rather a direct benefactor of its crapulence. - mastahack, on 10/10/2007, -5/+10torrent?
- Mikecol, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Windows is trademarked. Mac vs. PC was the best way to make the comparison without using the word Windows.
- meamog, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Dunno what to say to you there, buddy - Macs can read and write PC files (like logos, layouts, etc), and vice-versa. Your design houses use Macs because that's what they've always used (installed hardware base) and that's what design schools teach on... not to mention that (in my, and probably others humble opinion) Adobe products color-manage and multitask better on a Mac.
It sounds like your design houses just don't want you messing with their hard work, but are using a poor excuse for it. You might want to look into that. - RyeBrye, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6"most inefficient" is relative. I don't give a ***** about my storage space, but I care greatly about my time. My photo album of over 12,000 images would be a nightmare to look through in your "efficient" setup of only storing the image once. I prefer caching the thumbnails once rather than rescaling all those images.
It also only creates a "copy" when you edit it. Otherwise, it uses the original. - strax, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6you'll get there, 14 is still a bit young, be patient.
- rebopper, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9They both suck. And so does Linux.
BeOS FTW!
*ducks* - lazyrussian, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7It's "ditto"
Um...go Linux? :) - Zero2aHero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5This is iLife '08 and the previous version was iLife '06, therefore making it 2 years between releases.
- Ac1d, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4"PEOPLE WHO ARE LOOKING FOR NEW ***** WILL GET THEIR NEW *****."
They probably come to Digg in order to find stuff like this out? If you don't care about a story then just skip it. - joeycerone, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4is this going to be packaged in with leopard?
- superkendall, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4iLife 06
- opinpi, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Then why did you open this article??
- Mikecol, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4iWeb was the app I was looking most forward to in this iLife update. It was disappointing.
- strax, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6I am usually on my pc when I am on the internets, so my mac usage is not reflected in your analysis. I make money devloping on windows (which I like), and I use my mac to handle my photos/video editing. Haven't played around with linux yet, though I got started on unix which I like a lot.
- Palaceguard, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Look at me I'm a PC fanboy baby. I need attention to leave comments on how I hate Apple and Apple news. Boo hoo hoo
- SmackMyMac, on 10/10/2007, -10/+14Please don't touch Garage Band...

What is Digg?
