- anitab83, on 10/11/2007, -17/+147And a greenlight from the FCC is a surprise why? It's kind of like saying "WOW, the iPhone charger received it's UL Listing!"
- nacharya, on 10/11/2007, -13/+103What? Apple are making a phone (!)
- Nerfdude, on 10/11/2007, -12/+78in other headline news, i made a sandwich, and it came out pretty nice!
- DaMacGamer, on 10/11/2007, -10/+49it's news because it's the iPhone.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -20/+51My favorite part is that the submitter put an exclamation mark at the end of his headline in an attempt to make this bit of non-news sound exciting.
By the way, if you think this "news" is interesting in any way, shape, or form, you have got to be the most boring person on the face of the Earth. I award this submission NO diggs, and may God have mercy on your souls. - JonRohan, on 10/11/2007, -4/+27Did anyone else notice the Test Lab Manager's name? Lothar... of the Hill People.
- everybodyruns, on 10/11/2007, -4/+23I'm pretty sure we've known that the iPhone would be released sometime in June since January, and we never thought it would fail FCC compliance.
- Antitheft, on 10/11/2007, -27/+44If this news excites you, you suck and your life sucks, and it always will. Book it.
- TheRealToma, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18BREAKING NEWS:
iPhone will be packaged in a BOX.
Engadget:
iPhone box will have 4 corners.
Digg:
Read my blog on how much I dislike the box the iPhone will come in. - euphemizeme, on 10/11/2007, -14/+28"And yet it was still important enough for you to leave a comment... irony"
I'm sick of this idiot-logic. If I drive by homeless people and make fun of them, which I do, that does not make me homeless. - pegothejerk, on 10/11/2007, -12/+24"This is going to be the biggest product flop of all time."
or this will be the biggest prediction flop ever, Nostradamus. - madk, on 10/11/2007, -6/+16I for one couldn't care less about the iPhone.
*ducks and hides* - bleonard, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Yes, a non-removable battery.
- nevermind13, on 10/11/2007, -11/+20@euphemizeme
No it makes you an unsympathetic *****. - nurick, on 10/11/2007, -8/+17What's next? "Apple selects foam for iPhone packing material!!" Folks, this isn't news.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -7/+16I think it will be an interesting product deployment.
I'm curious to see if the hype lives up to reality and how well they actually executed the interface. And how well does the non-replacable battery hold up. - krellor, on 10/11/2007, -36/+44How the ***** is this news? Was it expected that the FCC would have a problem with it? Is it using any abnormal frequencies, or anything that would cause the FCC to take a second look at it?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -6/+13freeb...you are delusional if you think they are going to dominate the marketplace for years to come.
You do realize that EVERY Apple product except iPod has basically an insignificant market share. And that Apple has NEVER successfully introduced a new product into an already established market. And the cell phone market is far more established than any one they have tried. - ydt89, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9a box with four corners? I suppose apple is going to invent some way to fit a 3d object in a 2d space now eh?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Potential buyers come to Digg, see that this is on the top Diggs list with over 1200 Diggs and just shake their head in sadness at how far this site has fallen.
- MacParrot, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7and succeeding at neither...
- SirBotchness, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Yea cause this wasn't going to happen, but guess what, FRONTPAGE
fags - Haydio, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Man, you just made my day
- leftfield, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5uhh, banana phone?
http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/badgerphone.php - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Non replaceable battery Bwahahahahah. Sounds familiar.
What is next? Breathing on it scratches it all to hell?
Quick! Invest in iphone skins people. - TheKorn2, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6If this were a REAL STORY, I wouldn't have a problem with it. This isn't a REAL STORY, it's more lame apple fanboi breathless hyping of apple's next product.
What's next? Apple decides to use smooth rather than corrugated cardboard for the iphone box? Apple to use spot color rather than process color for the printing? Taiwan rather than China to manufacture the iphone?
See how assinine and NOT A REAL STORY this really is now? - MacParrot, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5He hates these cans!
- DreKor, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8Working for a CDMA carrier that, for obvious reasons, won't be carrying the iPhone, I wonder how they'll handle service. If a battery goes bad, can the carrier's service department replace it? Or, will the carrier have to ship it back to Apple? Or, will the customer have to find an Apple store (which can be hard in many areas) to get their phone fixed?
- surfing, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4At least Scientology post are interesting to read.
- KaneElson, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5WOW!
I can't do that from my PDA *cough*
Sure the iPhone will probably be pretty cool but it is just like any other smartphone with a couple of apple patents added on. - DreKor, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Mommy government makes your cellphone work. The US would be a scary place if RF spectrum was unregulated.
- djsputnik, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3sorry, i forgot that the average digg user is spending his cash on weed rather than the future
- Lockhart, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Apple iPhone receives FCC approval!
BFD. - naio, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Like iPod priced have also dropped?
- jkoke, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4No. The one with idiot-logic is you. If you truly find something uninteresting, you ignore it. If you find something fascinating, yet you are an ***** with low self-esteem, you pretend to not care but post comments about it. That's you, in case you couldn't follow the idiot-logic.
- EvolvedAnt, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4@5150photo
That is a lot of work with much risk of getting caught for such a small profit margin.
If said person had $10,000 to work with, he would have only made about $350. - Nin10dude, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4@euphemizeme
"If I drive by homeless people and make fun of them, which I do"
*****. D: - TheKorn2, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4so many dugg down comments because people are calling the apple fanboi ***** what it is -- *****.
- trollick, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6Apple phone? What's next potato phone?
- cpixelante, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I personally like the Meizu better.
- Legolover64, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3This is like those ads for pills that make you "magically lose weight":
"So POWERFUL, it was issued a United States patent!"
Congrats Apple, your phone isn't a pirate radio device! - MacParrot, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5The only reason this gets as much attention that it does is because of the massive hype (pro and con) before its announcement. Which led to the hype for when it would released. Which led to the hype about whether Apple would get it out the door when they said it would. The Apple lovers are estatic because this is something they've wanted for a long time. The Apple haters are angry because it's taking away precious digg space for whatever the hell their favorite gadget is and because they hate Apple (mixed in with a liberal amount of jealousy and envy).
Out the gate Apple will sell every single one they make. Will that translate into long term sales? I don't know and neither does anyone else. Will they make their announced sales goal of 1% of the market in 2008 (you can bet that's a face-saving manuver, as Jobs probably really is expecting (demanding?) a higher goal)? No idea and again neither does anyone else.
Whatever ends up happening, I won't be buying a 1st gen. Why? I don't need a photo editor/ display on a phone. I don't need to surf the web (even with full spread pages that I can zoom, which was a really cool part of Jobs demo) on a phone. With only 4-8 gb of storage (even less with the OS on there), it's not good enough to use an iPod. The screen is finally big enough to use as a portable media device so if they decide to use this form factor on a new iPod (without the frigging phone) with 30-80 gb of storage, then I'll be there. - MrViklund, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Handset???
That must be the most stupid term ever. It's a Phone or Mobile Phone. Handset? Hahaha, sounds ridiculous. - uchihaMadera, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2The new iphone. innovative. iWill take all your money. Meanwhile in other news citizens in Darfur are suffering you Americans..... tsk tsk tsk
- michaelb1, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5This news excites me.
- astrosmash, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3That's interesting, because you sound like the type of guy who doesn't wipe his ass very often.
- cicovc, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Digga please - http://www.younggogetter.com/2007/05/17/who-gives-a-rats-ass/
- KaneElson, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2O RLY?
I 'ARDLY KNOW 'ER! - zdiggler, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3No success they haven even got double digit percentage on HOME market yet.
only people who buying are those people who used to used to use Macintosh. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Yeah they got paid off.
