Apple TV: Top 10 Reasons You Should Wait
techconsumer.com — "I should point out that this is a product I sincerely want to work. After all, I already use iTunes to manage my music, and the iPod is my music player of choice. Too bad, then, that Apple TV simply isn ’t ready for prime time. Here are the top 10 reasons you should wait:"

If I'm sitting on my couch on a Wednesday night and suddenly have the urge to watch a movie, I can just click a few buttons and it's there. I can add it into my Netflix queue and get it a couple days later or I can drive to Blockbuster, get the movie, watch it, and then drive it back when I'm done. In that situation, paying $4.99 for the movie is worth it.
Also with the whole 24 hours point, I think that is reasonable. Comcast has the same deal with their PPV movies. When I'm sitting down to watch a movie, I'll decide if I can watch the whole thing in one sitting. If not, I'll rent it elsewhere or just not at all. I guess I just see movies as a committment--when it starts, I've made the decision to sit there for the next 2 hours or so.- kazzyD, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1But if "convenience" is your main point, Apple is pretty late to the party here. I mean, if you're one of the millions that has had a "sudden urge" to watch a movie, you've probably already gone with another of the dozen or so solutions already available to get you your movies right away.
The point is, you didn't need to wait for Apple for your life to be convenient. And, if this is the case, then it's actually pretty inconvenient to have to go buy and setup a new box to hook up to your TV if you already have a way to get instant entertainment.

Xbox 360 is a better set top box because it works with any TV and supports lots of content, including DivX.
