- canewediggit, on 10/10/2007, -55/+654the _real_ funny part is the number of fanboys that would actually pay it
- sparky1013, on 10/10/2007, -16/+495for 1/2 a second i believed this....
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -9/+304For the dimbulbs who still don't get it - bbspot is a parody site.
- UtahApocalyse, on 10/10/2007, -5/+263$5 dollars gets you in. $2000 get you out.
- tlogank, on 10/10/2007, -12/+233Same here, thing is because bbspot is not as widely known as Onion-many will see this article and description and think it to be true. What's even funnier is that many of the Mac-fans will see this and think that it is totally acceptable for Apple to do something like this.
- TFeuer, on 10/10/2007, -6/+169iCover Charge!
- qpid, on 10/10/2007, -27/+159I love bbspot
- norman619, on 10/10/2007, -31/+141Don't underestimate the Mac user.
- sholt, on 10/10/2007, -3/+98Think of bbspot like a less funny Onion...
- LordSkywalker, on 10/10/2007, -17/+94Before you people start a rant, this is FAKE. It's Bbspot.
- iDiggIt42, on 10/10/2007, -4/+77Hear that? That's the sound of the joke going over most of Digg's heads.
- Magillicutti, on 10/10/2007, -4/+68I didn't know they were a satire site until I came here. I was about to sell my iMac in disgust.
- KibibyteBrain, on 10/10/2007, -2/+58I'd happily pay the $5 entrance fee if the indie chick at the check out counter would make up the difference in extra customer service.
- LiquidSword, on 10/10/2007, -2/+46I swear 90% people who go into the store just use it to check emails and facebook/myspace. It's really anoying, on saturdays when all the little kids are in there using it in London......heh
- faclonX, on 10/10/2007, -11/+54I did believe it, until I saw it was bbspot....
I could see apple doing this... - jordanlund, on 10/10/2007, -1/+36Technically it's a satire site, not a parody site. :^)
- craig4, on 10/10/2007, -1/+36wow like that wasn't said already 4 times above you. thanks for the 4th time.
- TomFrost, on 10/10/2007, -4/+35Dude, I'm a mac evangelist and even I would drop all my ties to the company if they pulled something like this. It's a really, *really* amusing article though :)
- simplenation, on 10/10/2007, -3/+33true fanboys would own all the products and still pay to go see them at the store
- spdorsey, on 10/10/2007, -19/+48Misleading title on digg, but funny.
- h0f5, on 10/10/2007, -3/+31"BBspot is a satire news and comedy source and meant to be funny. If you are easily offended, gullible or don't have a sense of humor we suggest you go elsewhere."
=/ - turquoisefish, on 10/10/2007, -15/+40I actually think that it IS a good idea, my local store in Southampton (England) is tiny, and always packed - especially as it is school holidays now. I didn't even try to get in the store (to buy an accessory) as the store was especially packed with teenagers, including 2 who each had a load of balloons on sticks. I will get dugg down I bet for agreeing with a joke report, but there needs to be some way to limit the people who have no intention of buying anything from entering (and we don't even have the iPhone yet!)
- Magillicutti, on 10/10/2007, -6/+25Am I an idiot if it wouldn't surprise me if Apple did this though?
- spdorsey, on 10/10/2007, -4/+23It's a joke, dude.
- djSyndrome, on 10/10/2007, -6/+24"have you seen how much Macs cost?"
I sure have, and you get more for your money now than you ever have in the Mac's history. Anyone remember the $5,000 Macintosh II? - holzp, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17And a two genius minimum at the Genius Bar.
- winmywii, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16There goes his hair piece.
- willis77, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16ba dum ba dum boooooaaaaawwwwwwwwwwww
(price is right losing sound) - winmywii, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15yes
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -9/+24Use the word "fanboy", get dugg up. No matter what.
- insomniacal, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16Brilliant satire. I'm guilty of it myself -- I stopped by the local Apple store just to see the iPhone, too. No way was I going to buy one (too expensive), but I definitely wanted to play with one.
- dorianh49, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14I thought that was my hairspray catching on fire.
- Salgat, on 10/10/2007, -5/+19Its called not buying it from an Apple Store.
- Salgat, on 10/10/2007, -5/+18You act like this bbspot site is popular.
- Guard, on 10/10/2007, -5/+17Yeah, even when they got nothing out of it besides the ability to walk in a store.
- endustry, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Too bad it isn't true. Maybe I could actually check out the latest Macbooks next time without having to stand in line behind some guy updating his MySpace profile and replying to all his Yahoomail.
- TheSabre, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Yet, even with that 4th warning, people will still think it's true.
- tdous, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10No, Digg is not the content, it's links to the content. The title was accurate for the context. The article was misleading in as much as it was satire. If things like this were flagged "satire - not real!" that would suck the fun out of this sort of thing.
- rspeed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10The Mac IIfx was just short of $10,000.
- championchap, on 10/10/2007, -3/+131) Buy iPhone
2) Wear conspicuously.
3) Get mugged. - Walker2323, on 10/10/2007, -4/+14Are people retarded?
- fribhey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11can you be any more of a dolt? it's a joke. bbspot is like the onion.
- tdous, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9It'd be a terrible idea. Where's the fun in spoiling the surprise of reading a satirical article? If nothing else it'd serve us well to weed out the reactionary, research-lite blogs.
- TomFrost, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12Dell has fanboys? What? This whole "Someone else really likes something I don't.. I'll call him a fanboy" mentality is getting REALLY old.
- AeroZeppelin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9...*****
- hydriplex, on 10/10/2007, -6/+14you're a towel
- uaioe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8If you set up your store to resemble a futuristic amusement park, tourists are to be expected.
The Apple stores are designed to be a spectacle. To now complain that people treat them as spectacle is ridiculous. - sholt, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8I know. I stand by my statement.
- joegibes, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Hey, if I worked at an Apple store, I'd tell people there's an entrance fee *ahem*...
- jer2eydevil88, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10Almost as awesome as the iRack
