- gravis86, on 10/10/2007, -2/+23It's 9a559, not 9a599 like the title says. Make sure you type things correctly. You got my hopes up, and then you disappointed me. Not Dugg.
- mithi, on 10/10/2007, -4/+21Gold Master is a comin' !!!!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15The title is wrong, the version is 9a559. Its a tiny update.
- deepblue, on 10/10/2007, -23/+34Mac newbie question: Will Leopard require me to activate through iTunes and lock me to a single ISP?
- macaddct1984, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11What is this 'sex' you speak of?
- queraxus, on 10/10/2007, -6/+15No. But a more pressing concern is how long you'll remain a massive douchebag.
- deadbaby, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Leopard turned out really nice. It's a perfect example of how building off a solid core allows developers to refine and perfect the UI without compromising the original concept. There's nothing revolutionary here but it makes the whole end user experience smoother. It's a huge contrast to the "lets bolt on more GUI elements until the interface is completely unusable and causes seizures" design that other GUIs are adopting.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Release date is set for october which is this month, but when in october is unknown.
- BlueStarr, on 10/23/2007, -0/+7Said one digg user to another.
- Ireland, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Some people may miss that sarcasm, so I'll let them know, NO.
- tthiel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I'm using the latest version and it's excellent. Nice and fast, no issues at all. It will easily kick Vista all over town. But then again creaky old XP is doing that.
- renegadeafk, on 10/10/2007, -7/+13Your mom is comin'!
- Herolint, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6I actually think Aqua is quite useful from a usability standpoint. First, aqua scrollbars are in sharp contrast to the surrounding window elements so they let you instantly know exactly where they are and also which window is active. The scrollbars like the ones in iTunes don't really tell you much, are more difficult to find at a glance, and are quite boring.
- superalamar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Sure if you disregard satalite, DSL, and off brand provides that lease lines from your cable company for a fraction of what you could get it for and then resell the bandwidth to you...don't forget cell modems and leaching off your neighbors wifi....
- Ireland, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5You are right, if you discount the Aqua pop-up lists, the Aqua buttons, the Aqua radio-buttons, the Aqua check-boxes and the Aqua sliders. I guess Aqua isn't so dead after all.
- TubbyMcGee, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Master Blaster run Barter Town!!!
- streak, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7Your new Mac will be bricked if you install Office instead of iWork.
- LeonardNimrod, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Officially, they have said nothing and will probably have an event in which it will be available that same day but the most likely date is an October release on Tuesday, October 30th.
(This postulation is based on Apple's previous release history) - AxeMAYHEM, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Not until they fix that single (1) last bug.
- inactive, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2I pay for the electricity to DL, does that count? ; )
- SuperSunny, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2That's iTunes, not Leopard that does.
- LeonardNimrod, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2If you run OS X then DL a free program called MacTracker. You can check out the month/year that items were released.
For example, Apple released Merom MBPs in June. History shows that the MacBook would be updated to this later CPU chipset the next month, but that didn't happen. But MacBook was still selling well and the iPhone had a lot of energy. In 2006 new MBPs were updated to Santa Rosa in October with the MB updated in November. I am expecting new MacBooks with Merom to be released for this holiday season.
I speculate that Apple's marketing push to Time Machine may make them decide to add FireWire 800 to the MacBook and start selling Apple-branded External HDDs, too. This hypothesized change to the enclosure may be the reason MacBooks weren't updated soon after the MBPs this year, too.
Who knows.... I'm just guessing here. - NSResponder, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Apple releases minor hardware updates pretty much at any time, but the major new products tend to be announced at MacWorld in January.
-jcr - jordan314, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Anyone know if they'll be releasing any hardware this month too or do they do that separately?
Leonard can you tell us more about what you know about apple's previous release history?

Thanks - virtualball, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Touche...
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Aqua is dead, the only aqua left in leopard in 9a559 is the side scroll bars.
- BWhaler, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I am looking forward to Leopard. Sure, I got over excited with the secret features, than I was disappointed when very little followed.
But time has made me excited again. It's classic OS X iteration, lots of nice polish and a few new features which makes everything better. After a month, one can't imagine going back.
I just hope, hope, hope, Leopard doesn't have the new "Success Has Gone to Our Heads Apple Quality." Fingers crossed it is a very stable release. - ripdog, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2If you hate it so much, go get a different Shapeshifter or Themechanger theme. =
- dagamer34, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Are the going to have iTunes 7-type scrollbars? I think those look nice.
- joel8x, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'll pay for a copy of it. $130.00 is not a lot to ask for a full featured OS.
- OneJonathan, on 10/23/2007, -3/+4Woo hoo - I can't wait to use my iPhone gift certificate on Leopard!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2http://www.apple.com/macosx/leopard/
It says October right on Apple's own site guys. - jbaez, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3i freaking agree they need to go
- joel8x, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1If they were, it would have been in the seeds already - there is no way they would not test something like that.
- superalamar, on 10/10/2007, -4/+5love it or hate it, still looks better than vista and most any Linux distro...
- Ireland, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Yeah whatever, die Aqua die. I can't wait for Apple to kill Aqua in the next Leopard build, and you'll be left in a corner babbling about how useful Aqua is. Aqua is outdated, overdue for a change, and Fisher Price.
- superalamar, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1last known critical bug you mean...
- BlueStarr, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Shut the ***** up.
- datcrazydj, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Anyone know the release date for Leopard? I was looking it up on Wikipedia this morning and it said nothing. Later that day I checked again and it said that it was coming out in two days. Anyone happen to know?
- Ireland, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2@ superalamar, seen as I am a Mac user I doubt my argument is a Vista v OS X v Linux one, so get over yourself. The riddance of Aqua is replaced by Apple non-Aqua buttons and such, they are all either visible in iTunes, the iTunes account pane, or the screen sharing option in the Leopard Finder. Die Aqua die! Have a good day :)
- Moviespo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1does it come with update 1.1.1 for the i~phone?
- myrako9, on 01/01/2008, -0/+0dont know why but i Dugg it!

- Kolenka, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Aren't we already locked into our current ISP in many areas of the US if we want broadband, due to the cable oligopoly?
- colincornaby, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1iTunes binds to your computer's motherboard. Not your ISP.
- virtualball, on 10/23/2007, -4/+2You must have such a boring life then...
- superalamar, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1EDIT: *****!
wrong post, please bury - aoctavio, on 10/10/2007, -6/+3I bet Apple will end up putting activation codes in Leopard. They will call it "Apple Original Deuce"
- colindunn, on 10/10/2007, -9/+5So Digg, how does this front page algorithm work exactly?
