- richardiscool, on 10/12/2007, -4/+211It says iPhone.
- ojk007, on 10/12/2007, -2/+183yeah, so chances are its yet another fake.
- iching, on 10/12/2007, -17/+176One of the photo of the possible iPhone I found on the web shows it will
1. available in red or chrome
2. will have a click wheel at the top able to do text
3. screen is in the center
4. also will have a possible head set.

- endekks, on 10/12/2007, -2/+97Aside from the obvious, that isn't even the font.
Me calls it fake. - LegendarySock, on 10/12/2007, -7/+71How the ***** do you call?
- charlesnorbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+63Typing text on that would suck apples.
- xioner, on 10/12/2007, -2/+62Actually, it probably would just say "Introducing iPhone" since Apple has a habit of dropping determiners in their advertising.
However, I woudl call fake because of the iPhone, since they don't own the trademark. - drewpost, on 10/12/2007, -4/+57And why in the hell qwould an Apple Ad have the phone dialing the Apple Care phone number?? Totally fake
- Aceanuu, on 10/12/2007, -6/+59Its an iPhoney!
(heh, its a pun) - DaveMode, on 10/12/2007, -5/+49Dugg due to it's ability to play Zero 7 tunes..
- funkychikensays, on 10/12/2007, -6/+50Scanned with a HP LaserJet 5000 Series, on a mac..
open the file in any text editor and check it out for yourself.. - mbball, on 10/12/2007, -4/+37Definitely a fake, but I do like some of this fake's aspects.
Seriously, I think Apple can do better. - therodersabides, on 10/12/2007, -2/+34Damn, you actually had me going for a second on that one!
- flipmeat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+32Fake, but well done, the design is somewhat plausible. I don't think they'd toss the click wheel any time soon though. And how would this design give you feedback on dialing a number? You'd poke at the pad hoping you touch the right part.
Too many Mac users are highly skilled with 3D and 2D graphics tools to believe anything you see before Macworld.
Also, the text at bottom could say "Setup Note: This board should be put up by the Billboard Liberation Front." :-) - chrisrad, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31duggmirror didn't catch it:

Same guys i bet. - jiggawoot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25"I don't think they'd toss the click wheel any time soon though."
Are you suggesting we may see some sort of re-invention of the old school rotary dialers? If so... KICK ASS! - sahaskatta, on 10/12/2007, -27/+51i also would expect them to say "introducing THE iPhone" not "introducing iPhone"
plus as we learned monday, the "iPhone" name now belongs to cisco - AlphaPrime, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25Is that supposed to be a trackpad?
- sabster, on 10/12/2007, -9/+32well it could be a prototype ad.. until they realized the iphone name was taken.
- TheReport, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23Anyone else burnt out on all these rumors? What is this the second coming of the Gizmodo fiasco. Can we just move along and get all excited about the apple phone when it ACTUALLY comes out?
- sahaskatta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21another link
http://aycu13.webshots.com/image/6372/2000684949121413035_rs.jpg - node3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21While Apple almost certainly cannot call it the iPhone, if this is a preliminary ad mock-up, they may not have a final name yet, so they are using iPhone as a prototype name placeholder the same way they are currently using iTV for the whatever the iTV is going to be called (a product name which is also already trademarked, btw).
Real or not, this is the first I've seen that seems both plausible *and* exciting. - bmeckel, on 10/12/2007, -4/+24it wouldn't say THE iPhone, apple is "cool" enough to just say iPhone. And it def is not real because of the cisco thing
- theheadguy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23@therealduckie,
He said OPEN the file in a TEXT EDITOR... He didn't say the META data of a file. Read before you attempt to correct. - paulcooper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17please don't try to dial phone numbers while using heavy machinery. Its just not very clever.
- fallenone05, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18I'm getting the red one to help with the Aids charity campaign
- neosublime, on 10/12/2007, -9/+24I used to be so excited about a phone from Apple, but after a year of useless rumors and inside info, I could care less. It's reasons like this why Apple likes to keep their products secret until release.
Go ahead... digg me down now. - kingfoot, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19my guess is the touchpad on the bottom directly corresponds to screen position...kinda dumb...
- decompyler, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19Fake or not, this seems to be a trend with manufacturers lately. Why do designers find it necessary to omit buttons from a phone? Am I the only one who thinks removing all tactile function from a device that will be used while multitasking (some of those tasks being operating heavy machinery) is a bad idea? I'm all for innovation and design, but i think we are taking steps back with our human/machine interfaces in our digital age. I would like to see more sliders and rotary knobs and less push/touch buttons on digital devices.... albeit in a stylized manner of course. With mono sensory touch devices, you add the need to involve another sense in the operation of said devices. When you eliminate the need to use other senses to operate a device that is meant to be operated in the hand, then you have a good design.
OK, proceed with digging down, you consumer whores! :) - sakabako, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Apple Farts
- crimes, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13There should seriously be a section for fan-made Apple art.
- UnoriginalMind, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I've heard of not reading the article, but the title? Did you stop at the word Apple?
- ggko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9"Actually, it probably would just say "Introducing iPhone" since Apple has a habit of dropping determiners in their advertising."
Following Apple's past advertising, wouldn't the most fitting be "Say Hello"? - stalefries, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Fapple art?
- kethraal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9It's _not_ an iPod...
- Sumyunguy, on 10/12/2007, -20/+28Interesting that no one seems to be considering the chance that this thing could end up being called the MacPhone?
MacBook
MacBookPro
MacPro
MacPhone
Makes sense to me... - jenx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Didn't anyone consider that maybe the touchpad is backlight with numbers and needs a quick touch for it to light up?
- OwlBoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Why do people not understand that an image cropped and resized for the web in Photoshop would also say that?
- sakabako, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9That looks like Myriad to me. But I still think it's fake.
- alternative724, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9opened in textedit first line says photoshop 3 beta
- Benzido, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9It's a touchpad like on a laptop - to control a pointer or a 'virtual touchwheel'.
I think this is real. 'No buttons' is exactly the kind of directive that Jobs would give to the designers. - Bob042, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6If it is real, making a screen with a touchpad below it seems like a huge copout to just making a touchscreen... Although I suppose it would stop the screen from becoming a fingerprinty mess.
- Raian, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Maybe in order to do text you just write the letter with your finger?
- inc4, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6ok, I mirrored it http://inc-omplete.org/2006/12/20/apple-iphone/ and my site is pretty much digg proof so it shouldn't be affected by lots of hits. Enjoy!
- mgkwho, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7It's incorrect grammar to say "there" when you're using possession.
-=|Mgkwho - l4wl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Wtf are you talking about?
- zeiben, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I agree. I used to want a phone with 802.11 wireless, mp3, video, scissors and a pocket knife. Now I just want my phone to focus on making decent calls and not occupying too much of my pocket space.
