Apple OS Market Share Breaks 4%
marketshare.hitslink.com — According to Internet traffic statistic company, HitsLink, in November 2005 the Apple OS market share broke 4%. Apple market share has been constant to slowly growing the past 12 months, but November showed a nice gain from 3.87% to 4.11%.

It's mindshare in a specific discipline that matters. BMW is not interesting in selling cars to Echo owners. Similarly, if you look at who actually owns a Mac by discipline those numbers would be quite different.
That is, if you just look at specific professions like designers, academics and developers, I suspect that 4% is more like 50-80%
Also, platform chauvanism is boring. People with an education and a job often have more than one computer, or can work with more than one platform because that is how the world works.
