Wanna hear something exciting? .. go to http://labs.divx.com/ and install the divx fusion codec beta 3 for mac (it now works with quicktime 7). Well I can confirm that FrontRow plays Divx in my iBook, most of them prefectly ... only for some reason my Firefly divx doesn't have sound.

      I believe the latest DivX package for Mac includes a working AC3 codec.
      There was a separate one floating around for a while, but I don't think it works in QuickTime 7.

  • drunknjew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0installed on my mini/entertainment center, and it effing rocks. video playback of anything i throw at it but WMVs. i store all of my movies on an external hard drive. i created an alias to my videos folder, and moved that alias into the Movies directory in my home directory. Instantly, front row let me browse my entire external hard drive full of movies. friggin awesome!

    anyone know of a good remote, or a place to get an IR reciever for the apple universal remote?

  • DJMac317, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I get that communication error every once in a while, if I log out and log back in it seems fine. You have to install that BezelServices.framework that comes with it. Make sure you Repair Permissions and restart. The only problem I see so far is that you have to switch to the application and then hit ESC to activate front row. But this is exactly what I needed for my media watching. Works great on a 17 inch PowerBook.

  • jesusfreak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Got this running on my G4 AGP 500MHz Mac. :P It read my play lists and so fourth, but I could not get it to play Music or DVD. Oh well just to see it in action on my Mac was cool enough, for now.....
