- cblalock, on 10/12/2007, -8/+40If you're gonna be a dupe nazi, at least post a link to the one you feel should be on the front page.
- rageguy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30I know this is really really off topic and by virtue of making this comment I'm also been hypocritical, but please people! lay off on the dupe comments, this story has made the front page, I havent seen it before, it is rather interesting to me.
If its a duplicate dont digg it and report it as a duplicate, dont spam up here about it. - Rhaegal, on 10/12/2007, -7/+29Matrixsjd: dupe, post original comment next time.
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23Faster hard drive? How about bringing back FireWire so the data can actually transfer at a decent rate?
- doherty, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I don't know if any of you even realize this, but 40 posts about something being a duplicate story and 50 posts about how annoying the dupe comments are does nothing except degrade the overall quality of information one can read through on digg. For every stupid comment that gets posted, it's that much extra you have to skim through to find the 3 people that had insightful comments to make.
If duplicates bother you THAT much, make sure you digg the submission with the most concise description of the article and the fewest grammar and spelling errors. Perhaps if you spent your time doing that instead of complaining about dupes, you'd see the overall quality of front page stories increase.
Of course, posting this is a waste. It has more than 8 words, little to no extraneous punctuation, proper capitalization, punctuation, and spelling, and no silly Internet patois. So, most likely, no one will read it or take any of it to heart. - festivalman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13Or how about bringing back a standard connector so I don't have to bring a cable with me if I want to transfer files to a friend's computer.
- rgremill, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13PortalPlayer stock lost over 40% yesterday. This should remind every company not to depend so much on ONE customer.
- dcmiltown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8eggs in one basket my friend....

The dock has a line out. Or you can get the PocketDock from these guys:
http://www.sendstation.com/
@festivalman
You can get that PocketDock too. One even has a combo USB/Firewire interface so you can bring it to ALL your friend's houses. - toran, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9If you think it's a dupe, then report it as such. Do us all a favor and don't spam the comments telling us that it's a dupe. I garuntee you, someone else has already said it. The only reason you didn't see it was because it got modded down- because those comments are STUPID.
- rageguy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Indeed, I'm going to really miss firewire. :-(
- CamoChris, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"Its PP5021 media processor chip has not been selected by Apple for use in its new mid-range and high-end flash-based iPods."
The article is only referring to the nano not the proper iPod. - Durrok, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The reply button is handy for comments on a comment :)
- geofferensis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It was a great ride while it lasted though.
- jer2eydevil88, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6I would like them to replace the firewire support with sata support... at least that way they can add sata ports to the next macbook pro and I'll call it a fair trade...
- chad78, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Doherty, you misused the term patois. I believe you meant jargon or slang. Patois does not apply in this case.
If you are going to talk down to people for their use of language, please do so correctly. - Swift2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Um, it has a line out. It's on some of the pins on the universal connector. When you play it back from the dock, that's line level. I have a cable for the car, which plugs into the line in on my radio. The universal connector is all. The "line out" cable cost about $15.
I'm sad they dropped the firewire because you can no longer boot from it. - BlindIrishman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"it makes the media processor for the MP3"
Why is it that most adults insist on iPod = MP3 logic? Damn mass media... - JasonPrini, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'd like a 0.27" thin iPod+video with 2.5" screen that has 10-20GB flash memory instead of a hard drive and a larger battery.
Then they'd have something between the nano and the hard drive units. - Matrixsjd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1TerryLoincloth, you have some serious issues dude, I suggest you seek help and stop posting spam.
- Tom_Riddle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Cha unless you can boot from USB.
I can.
go cheap/old-ass motherboard. its your birthday. your 5th birthday. or so...
Damn I need to upgrade.... - mnrosebud, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2If you hate people who talk about dupes so much then why on earth did you spend so much time talking about them yourself. After all these comments only fall on deaf ears.
- doherty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually, chad78, I did not use the word patois incorrectly. In its original use, patois was used to describe regional, spoken dialects of written languages. However, it is also used to describe the jargon and slang used by a particular group or related to a particular subject - hence, Internet patois.
- doherty, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1shiptoshore, you even used 'its' correctly. I'm glad there's at least one other person using digg that has respect for the English language.
Hats off to you, my friend. - shaka999, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3What are you going to do. Turn away a large customer...I think not.

- shaka999, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Read closely. This is "flash-based" ipods. I don't know the specific sales breakdown but I would expect video is the future for Apple. At least for the next few years flash a'int gonna cut it.
