- Humptydank, on 10/12/2007, -10/+206Steve Jobs was overheard telling the Water Service crews:
"You call this ***** water? I wouldn't show this water to a three-year-old kid. The water's up to my ankles. What am I supposed to do with water up to my ankles? I can't swim in it. I can't drink it. It's just making my shoes wet. Do you seriously think that people want water that just makes their shoes wet? Now you stay here all night and through the god damn weekend and I'd better see some ***** Apple water around here by Monday morning." - Sblader5, on 10/12/2007, -10/+195bobbing for apples?
- colty045, on 10/12/2007, -4/+124And God Said on to Steve Jobs "gather thy self two of every ipod"
- rotarychainsaw, on 10/12/2007, -3/+89The new aqua interface?
- bbrosemer, on 10/12/2007, -14/+87Did they find any iPhone's during the cleanup...?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -15/+61iPhone's what?
- threepio, on 10/12/2007, -9/+55I know the cooling system for the G5's was a little ludicrous, but I never expected this sort of fall out.
- Jolene, on 10/12/2007, -12/+55I can't dig this without picture. I want to see the apple reps swimming around in their tank!
- yournamehere, on 10/12/2007, -9/+52unfortunately, they all had male connectors
- skell, on 10/12/2007, -7/+46iLeak?
And no, it's not the kind of Apple leak that we're used to. - trghpy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+40Of course you will. Just don't be surprised it is still wet.
- thatgirlismine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+37I can't find a source which says what building was leaking. Apple has _a lot_ of buildings in Cupertino, and unless it was in an Infinite Loop building or Marianna 1, well... who cares?
- ScornForSega, on 10/12/2007, -11/+42@bbrosemer
Dude.. it's not that kind of leak. - Sippi, on 10/12/2007, -7/+38iPatch
- Balanced, on 10/12/2007, -3/+33it's usually only the corporate lawyers that have a tank at work. Sharks need a good space to be comfortable, after all, with current to keep oxygenated water moving across their gills.
- ericnmu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23And I heard they were getting rid of Aqua for 10.5. Guess not.
- betterth, on 10/12/2007, -22/+44As much as a misguided attempt at a Microsoft bash that is, it's quite dismal. There has to at least be a chance that water systems would be controlled by a Microsoft product, which they aren't.
Then, if you can get past the idea that a utility would run a desktop o/s for nondesktop functionality, like utility control/distribution, you have to then take the leap that Apple would run said Microsoft program to run their facility.
Too many leaps of stupid faith for that joke to even be funny.
(Edit: Oh *****. It got dugg up. I forget how many anti-MS people there are here. I guess I'm going to get dugg down now, heh) - threepio, on 10/12/2007, -4/+26The dock connector plugs *into* the iPod. I think that makes it female, anatomically speaking.
- joe90210, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18it's not a leak, it's a feature enhancement to the building, Apple has a history of out-of-the-box innovation, this is no different
- cr125er, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19H20wned.
- mscman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19@yournamehere:
iPods have female connectors... the cables have male connectors. - colincornaby, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19"Ever since microsoft bought off apples debt and subsequently rebounded.
For such an "evil" company microsoft sure is pretty nice for keeping its main competitor afloat financially in the past."
Microsoft didn't give Apple money. Microsoft bought Apple stock as a vote of confidence, and then proceeded to make a very hefty profit selling it a few years later. Microsoft buying Apple stock was a way of saying "See... we can't kill Apple now, because if we do, we lose all this money we invested in Apple. In fact, we'll want to help Apple because when we do, their stock price will go up and we will make money from that." - etruscan, on 10/12/2007, -9/+24Apple Computer is building floods?
- alefox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Quick! Someone who is working to clean it up, find a prototype and put it on ebay!
- EricAnderton, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Emily Bates: Mom said that Apple Inc. is closed today because it's flooded, and there's feces everywhere!
Susie Bates: What are feces?
Emily Bates: Baby mice.
Susie Bates: Aww. - WiBu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Woz strikes again...
- colincornaby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Apple has a lot of buildings next to each other in Cupertino. They built them all when the company was at it's peak in the late 80's, sold or closed a lot of them when the company went into decline, and then ever since Apple rebounded have been buying them all back again. Even if it was 1 Inifinite Loop that flooded, that complex is 5 buildings alone.
Apple's even building a second campus right down the freeway pretty close to Santa Clara (although still technically in Cupertino). - Leathersoup, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14Way to make your own complaint seem pointless, iHypocrite.
- AlphaEta, on 10/12/2007, -7/+16Does this mean I can't get an iPhone in January?
- yournamehere, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12i dugg it for you,stmiller
- blackbrrr, on 10/12/2007, -10/+18im not sure why this is digg-worthy..
- emmanuelsotelo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Pictures would be awsome.
- rr525356, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8They can just use Time Machine to go back, right?

- dezmd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9actually if you think about it a usb plug is kinda dual gender...
- Computer_Kid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I want to see a bunch of old LISAs and Apple][es floating :-)
i wonder, what does apple do with their basement? - akinder, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Hey, there are parts of Apple I like, and parts I don't like!
- mizzoucat, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9I sure hope Leopards can swim.....
- Justin6512, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Gallons. Whats the freaken logic in that. The metric system makes way more sense.
1 Kililiter = 1000 leters = 1000000 milileters
Wow they all start with 1 now that's smart. - colincornaby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7"The number could be extended to seven if you count BJ's Brewery (the building on the left surrounded by Apple's parking lot)."
I know having BJ's in the parking lot is something Apple employees do enjoy. ;) - betterth, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11That was the iPoint.
- thatgirlismine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@colincornaby
Actually, the Infinite Loop Complex is six building. The sixth one was built last and its the *****.

Looks just like it did in SimCity!
http://www.diabolico.it/simcity/sc3urk/fotosjs/applecampus.jpg - bacon_skoda, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6soon we'll have front page articles on Apple's cafe menu.
- artman, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8And in other news, Apple's CEO Steve Jobs says that their Aqua Interface will now stay Aqua for the foreseeable future.
- ericnmu, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9you just screwed up the simplest, lamest joke.
- Boondoggle, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8"Then, if you can get past the idea that a utility would run a desktop o/s for nondesktop functionality, like utility control/distribution, you have to then take the leap that Apple would run said Microsoft program to run their facility."
I just gotta ask, is a warship propulsion system a "desktop functionality"???
"Government Computer News (http://www.gcn.com) reported last month that the U.S.S. Yorktown was retrofitted with Microsoft's Windows NT product and used in a battlefield simulation test. Fortunately for all concerned, this was not a live-fire exercise. During a simple navigational maneuver, a single piece of erroneous data caused Windows NT to crash, taking out the ship's propulsion system. The mighty warship had to be towed to port for two days of humiliating and expensive repairs."
http://www.os2hq.com/archives/wp2.htm - striker1211, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7It's probably that kid from Hackers, he set off the water sprinklers because his rare color Macintosh II broke and the people on the Flubber set wouldnt give him a new one. Lesson learned: Don't network your sprinkler system outside of your company firewall.
