- potaco, on 10/30/2009, -1/+34Great news article... "OMG SOMETHING HAPPENED! We don't really know what, we just wanted to be first!"
- MCA2142, on 10/30/2009, -2/+19By law, AT&T is supposed to allow unlocking of their phones once the contracted period is over.
They haven't allowed that yet. This is what they should be suing for. - Qumahlin, on 10/30/2009, -2/+16True, but since Apple created some of the marketing efforts and commercials pretty much knowing AT&T was behind on the rollout you can claim they were complicit to the issue.
I don't agree with all the frivolous lawsuit BS, but having Apple on the suit would be a no brainer for any lawyer involved. - A11YND, on 10/30/2009, -2/+11Alright.. Lets just have them take their iPhones to T-Mobile or Verizon.. Wait.
- rolf, on 10/30/2009, -0/+9Which law is that? (Don't get me wrong, I'm 100% for it.)
- BotaXero, on 10/30/2009, -1/+9He must have received the penis pictures.

- pegothejerk, on 10/30/2009, -0/+7the court should rule in favorite of giving 4 times the amount of lobbyist money att gave out last year in order to start an organization to lobby for mandatory open systems on phones.
- DaviDTC, on 10/30/2009, -2/+8Just doing what Apple does.
- CraigHwk, on 10/30/2009, -0/+6How about trying technical support first!
- Qumahlin, on 10/30/2009, -1/+7"If you don't like a service you don't use it, you don't sue the company."
The issue is they were paying for a service they were not receiving...It has nothing to do with liking it. If a company takes your money and tells you that you will receive something that you don't receive are you one of those idiots that just says oh well and lets them keep your money? - DaviDTC, on 10/30/2009, -2/+7Submit this when there is actually news not something is happening and we have no info. Buried as spam, that is all this article is.

They are just pissed that the Apple commercials said "MMS Supported" when clearly it wasn't at time of 3.0 launch on AT&T. They are saying they were mislead into purchasing iPhones and contracts. - mileswj, on 10/30/2009, -0/+3Or checking to see if your plan supports it...
- mylestaylor, on 10/31/2009, -0/+2I don't get why Apple is getting blamed for this. It was a carrier thing. Some carriers did it and others didn't.
- Qumahlin, on 10/31/2009, -0/+2@sarchosis
Correct, but it is an included service that a subset of customers can not take advantage of, therefore it is a material in the contract that users who are paying the same amount can not take advantage of solely due to a choice by the provider of said material item.
By your own admission MMS is included in the plan and the only thing that said plan states that is needed to take advantage of it is a "MMS capable device", well the iPhone has been MMS capable yet AT&T is still not providing the service thus they are withholding that service that those subscribers ARE paying for as part of their monthly contract
I recommend for those that want to play armchair lawyers on the internet you at least take take a course on basic contract law at your local community college. - immatellyouwhat, on 10/30/2009, -3/+5My iPhone still cannot send MMS and it's updated and running the latest software ( Yes I restored it too ). Time to whip out the long arm of the law!!!
- youareretarded, on 10/31/2009, -0/+2It's called, "***** carrier unlock regulation".
- acardwell3, on 11/01/2009, -0/+2So they just said "Hey, there was another lawsuit against Apple/AT&T, but I don't know the details. I'll get back to you when I know something about this."
- anderzole, on 10/30/2009, -1/+3Okay, a news report that has no news to report? No thanks.
- immatellyouwhat, on 10/30/2009, -0/+2Yes I was kidding, and all 3G iPhones support MMS
- Alaerus, on 10/31/2009, -3/+5F*#K you Whale!!!!!! F@!K you Dolphin!!!!!!
...oh wait..
***** YOU AT&T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - sageerrant, on 10/30/2009, -1/+3Both your comment and username have led me to believe that you have used up your allotment of spaces, and are in dire need of a refill. Unfortunately, the nature of the comment box will not allow me to lend you any additional spaces of my own, so I hope you can find some use for this baker's dozen of underscores instead:

- spentcigarettes, on 10/31/2009, -0/+2i called about a flip phone i've had with them since 2005 that i don't use (i'm an iphone user). my roommate's t-mobile phone broke so i called to see if i could have the unlock code for it so she could use it until she could buy a new t-mobile phone. they refused to unlock it for me unless i signed up for an international plan because they "only unlock phones for people who plan on traveling outside of the united states."

- boozedrinker, on 10/31/2009, -2/+3Yes....clog up our court system trying to make a quick buck. Have fun with your $50/hr. uncle Vinny while Apple and ATT crush you with their 10 person legal team.
- youareretarded, on 10/31/2009, -1/+2Apple is the one that crippled the phone, not att, as evident by the fact that every att phone other than the iphones can do mms AND the fact that the 2g iphone still can't mms.
- inactive, on 10/31/2009, -0/+1seriously ***** fix it so that iphones can send pictures. so many hot girls with iphones that cant send nudes because of this reason
- sageerrant, on 10/31/2009, -0/+1Look, now you've gone and wasted them!
You really need to learn to manage your text breaks better. - RobotBuddha, on 10/31/2009, -0/+1I hate that it's only 3G. Like the 1st gen iphone users are going to bring down the network. I wouldn't sue them for it, but I'm not buying another iphone.
- Nevasleep88, on 10/31/2009, -1/+2Yawn, how many people have actually sent more than 10 MMS messages anyway.
I BET its not more than 1% of users with mms enabled phones. Anybody got the figures? - HeavyWave, on 10/31/2009, -1/+2Reverse DCMA probably.
- akabigbro, on 11/02/2009, -0/+1What a bunch of winey-babies!
- Jeff901, on 10/30/2009, -2/+1What the phones (any of them) can do and what they are PROVISIONED to do are two different stories.
Why do we let the phone companies cripple technology? Oh, my bad, so they can screw the consumer....sorry...I lost my mind. - sarchosis, on 10/31/2009, -3/+1AT&T doesn't charge extra for MMS, so not sure what you're talking about.
- RegalBegal, on 10/30/2009, -6/+3Is this worth suing for?
- blumarlin1, on 10/30/2009, -6/+2this isn't an article from the onion?
- Tddupre, on 10/30/2009, -7/+3SUE SUE SUE!!!
- appleseed1234, on 10/30/2009, -12/+5It isn't Apple's fault that AT&T didn't hold up their end of the bargain, but maybe they will try a little harder next time to actually provide the services that you buy.
- immatellyouwhat, on 10/30/2009, -10/+1iAmawhinybitchateverythingthatappledoesordoesn'tdoinatimelyfashion?
- sarchosis, on 10/30/2009, -20/+10Jesus these people are pathetic. If you don't like a service you don't use it, you don't sue the company. You don't deserve a settlement just because you're too stupid to see what's really going on.
