- inactive, on 08/13/2008, -5/+48I pray for the day when Apple let's me enjoy their product for more than a year.
- JasonCox, on 08/14/2008, -0/+31What, are you trying to make the iPod Touch to cost as much as a Mac Pro?
- omegacentrix, on 08/14/2008, -0/+28You know that you can enjoy an apple product 1, 2, even 3 years down the road just as much as you did the first day (provided it didn't crap out), right? The key is to buy a product when you are happy with the feature set. Then just sit back, relax, and let the world do its thing.
- somberlaine, on 08/13/2008, -2/+30plus major price cuts across Apple's lineup.
- cubicledrone, on 08/14/2008, -2/+27All the iPods will wake up at the same time and wander into the night. Slowly they will seek out graveyards where they will crawl into crypts and merge with corpses to form the cybernetic undead. Then they will pour into the cities, unleashing their vampiric headphones in the search for brains so they can evolve into a transcendent race of super zombies.
- deadbaby, on 08/14/2008, -0/+19IF you can't enjoy something that isn't the latest & greatest isn't that more of a personal problem than an Apple problem?
- inactive, on 08/14/2008, -4/+20They need it. Badly.
I have to pay 1100 dollars to buy a laptop that can't even burn DVDs. Really? Come on Apple. You can totally have a 500 dollar premium, but at least have the specs of a 600 dollar laptop when you have it at that price. - inactive, on 08/14/2008, -0/+15plays Crysis
- frenchkick, on 08/14/2008, -2/+1780/160 gig ipod touch?
FLAC support?
please? - inactive, on 08/13/2008, -4/+18*reaches for bottle of lube*
... - Berkana, on 08/14/2008, -1/+15Forget about new products, the iPhone and its apps need a good solid round of debugging and stability enhancements.
- HappyScrappy, on 08/14/2008, -1/+14Isn't the shuffle already 2 Gigs?

- Nouman6, on 08/14/2008, -0/+7An ipod with a camera?
Then they can add video recording the next time around once they get better battery support. - ExSlashdotter, on 08/14/2008, -0/+7if you only used it because it was new/cool/trendy, then why do you even care?
Some of us, ya know, play music in the car, office, gym, etc... - S68x, on 08/13/2008, -6/+12For the love of God, Apple, slow down.
- ashukg, on 08/13/2008, -10/+15what only 3 fanbays here? Where are the rest?
- suntzusputnik, on 08/14/2008, -2/+7give me a smaller iphone without 3g that's unlocked at purchase and then we'll talk
- tracydanger, on 08/14/2008, -0/+580/160 gig - not flash based, I'd go for that even if it meant being thicker.
That'd be the best of both worlds (Interface and capacity). - Berkana, on 08/14/2008, -0/+5Of course...if you're receiving anything from an analyst.
- daGUY, on 08/14/2008, -1/+6I'm betting the Touch models will either get boosted in capacity (32/64 GB), or they'll keep the current models but drop the prices by $100. I think it's a good possibility that they'll throw in GPS (which would make the Maps app a lot more useful) and/or a camera too.
- transversed, on 08/14/2008, -1/+6touchscreen cross the board, double capacity on flash models, total revamp of the shuffle, pigs and elephants that poop their pants, and a new way to say howdy doody
- ExSlashdotter, on 08/14/2008, -0/+5If you bought and enjoy the product, then why does it matter? There's always going to be new stuff. Just enjoy the one you have.
I've got a 3rd generation 15GB iPod with a black and white screen. I've gone through 3 batteries in the thing I use it so much. Sure, its not the newest one out, but how does that stop me from enjoying it? - nemodomi, on 08/14/2008, -0/+5I pray for the day when people stop using apostrophes for plurals.
- kelpee, on 08/14/2008, -1/+5or speed up
- netxypher, on 08/14/2008, -0/+4Look I hate to rain on the parade but its hardly a surprise since it happens every year at exactly the same time... I just looked at the article and said to myself "damn, is it september already?!" :)
- raydeen, on 08/14/2008, -0/+3Amen brother. But then, no one would every buy a MBP. Kinda sad that Apple expects you to pay almost a grand more for a dedicated graphics card.
- inactive, on 08/14/2008, -7/+10The surprise would be going one day without hearing how ***** great the iphone is.
- ErickStevenson, on 08/14/2008, -0/+3Cheaper Ipod Touch? ***** the iPhone, I want a cheaper iPod Touch.. if not 64 gig maybe? A guy can wish...
- exploringfox, on 08/14/2008, -0/+3I work for an Apple reseller and know for a fact that Apple is reworking the MacBook and MacBook Pro line-- to be honest, it doesn't sound like this writer knew anymore that the rest of us about what's going on. There is also rumor that all iPod models will now be touch. How was this an article for WIRED?
- blinkfink182, on 08/14/2008, -5/+8Well, don't worry, it isn't that great. Digg me down, but I own an iPhone 3G and it is fun, but it isn't a great phone/PDA.
- daGUY, on 08/14/2008, -1/+4They are (there's already a 2.1 beta available to some developers). Releasing a new iPod touch model is separate from updating the software. Who says they can't do both?
- RyomaNagare, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2Well my macbook c2d 2.0Ghz GMA950 is turning 2 in one or 2 month.
and I'm really satisfied with it, I upgraded it ro 2GB ram and leopard a year ago, and it works flawlesly.
in fact despite it being my first mac in over 15 years of computer ussage, I'm migrating my whole house to macs, I'll be buying a new macbook in september, and probably a mini when it gets a little refresh.
of course an iphone too. - Benji521, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2yeah it is. I assume he meant the 1 GB $50 shuffle gets doubled to 2 GB and costs the same, but who knows...
- inactive, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2***** that, it'll play Crysis.
- jamesov89, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2my 160 will last me at least another year . . .
- Wade, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2Better than Stephen King's Cell.
- MacParrot, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2What wouldn't be?
- tracydanger, on 08/14/2008, -0/+2That's the point of the article - that it's not really a surprise. Did you read the article?
- tdkme, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1then you can use the disk feature.
- rowlodge, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1i wish the shuffle had a few more battery cycles thrown in and could get it around $25.
- groverblue, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1that's really getting old....
- MadKennyP, on 08/15/2008, -0/+1Die, heretic!
- adamsian3, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1it good to know that the macbook might be updated because i was thinking of getting that model so if there doing it up just before christmas i might treat myself.. =)) happy me now...
- tracydanger, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1Yeah, I still enjoy my iMac G5 with iSight (that I bought a month before the intel version came out). It does what I need. I just upgraded from 1.5 to 2.5 Gigs of Ram. Very true that your more satisfied when you judge based off of your needs versus whatever else is out there that's better than what you have. I think that may be an issue of materialism.
- chargersfan39, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1number 2 and 3 are horrible ideas and theres no chance that apple will include them
- Elranzer, on 08/14/2008, -0/+1I'm still waiting for an iPod good enough for me to give up my gold iPod Mini for. Since I've exchanged the internal microdrive for a 16gb compactflash, I just never seemed to need a new actual iPod. I love the rough aluminum shell, which I can throw in my pocket with my keys and not worry about it getting scratched up.
- fugazied, on 08/16/2008, -0/+1Some obvious reasons against it.
1) Disk uses more battery. Ipod touch has incredible battery life. But throw in a spinning hd + that large touchscreen and battery life would be a joke.
2) Apple likes aesthetics. They make stuff smaller and prettier, I can't think of an instance where they released something bigger and with older technology. -
