- exomni, on 10/18/2007, -13/+521For those who don't know: Gore has been on Apple's board of directors since 2003.
- exomni, on 10/23/2007, -31/+226You ***** idiot, Al is on Apple's board of directors, and has been since 2003. Why the ***** do you think they said "bursting with pride" and called him by his first name?
- exomni, on 10/23/2007, -28/+214"You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or villify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things; they push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world... are the ones who do."
- inactive, on 10/17/2007, -32/+206So the man we let go wins a noble, is on the board at one of the coolest companies i know, and promotes a greener, happier earth.
While the man we elected ruins our image, loves oil, and creates idiotic wars...
Damn we are good.... - MasterThief117, on 10/23/2007, -45/+204Al Gore invented the Internet; the least Apple can do is feature him on their home page.
- trunkster, on 10/18/2007, -14/+124He also invented the iPhone.
- Urusai, on 10/17/2007, -1/+100I was crazy enough to think I could change the world. The world didn't notice. Now I just post bitter comments on the Internet.
- theuniversal, on 10/14/2007, -17/+107Isaiah:
Disgusting? So you think that companies shouldn't congratulate Nobel Peace Prize Winners? Or they shouldn't take positions on environmental issues? Or is it just because you personally dislike Al Gore? Anyway, you're free to stop buying Apple products to show your disgust. You may also want to aim some of your disgust at all the other large corporations that take stands on political issues everyday when they lobby government for weaker environmental protection laws and other various self-interested causes. - virtualball, on 10/14/2007, -7/+79More shockingly, apple.com has never been dugg before.
- SiNN4R, on 10/17/2007, -5/+74Al Gore also owns a sizeable turtle neck collection.
- Deodrus, on 10/15/2007, -38/+97Wow, I never expected that !
America really took the wrong turn in 2000. ***** the electoral votes. And ***** Bush.
(I'm Canadian, btw)
P.S. Apple and Bush-bashing in one single article !! This is Digg-heaven! [/attempt_at_humour] - nusuni, on 10/14/2007, -11/+65I'm not a big fan of Gore, but good grief people! He is on the Apple Board. You cannot truthfully tell me if you had a nobel peace prize winner on your board you wouldn't mention him at least once.
- shoutsmurmurs, on 10/14/2007, -12/+64Global warming is not a political issue. And until people stop seeing it as one, it will never be solved. Thank you for holding back the human race.
- popltree2, on 10/14/2007, -15/+65"Apple is a computer company not a political support group.
I don't see anywhere where it mentions politics. - cl0n3x, on 10/15/2007, -26/+75While our current beloved president, George W. has been spending much of his past years on vacation.
- leontes, on 10/15/2007, -26/+68Come clean apple, did Gore invent the iphone?
Heh. Although, in all serious, he probably helped shape the high level dicussions that made the iphone was it is today This man just impresses me on so many levels. It's touching to me how far he's come in 7 years and how pathetic bush seems in comparison, and Gore supposedly lost.
And he has an emmy. And a bestseller. And an oscar. And was VP. And he was a senator. And he was on futurama. And he was roomates with Tommy lee jones. And he justs seriously kicks ass. And he's a geek. He's a poster child too all us diggers, really. He's a nerd who matters, without resorting to crass commercialism. - davidburns, on 10/14/2007, -10/+48Please tell me a.) you're under 18 and won't be able to vote in this upcoming election, or b.) you live in a state where your vote won't matter.
- northernmunky, on 10/15/2007, -11/+48He should've been president in the first place
- hadiz, on 10/14/2007, -3/+39Which is why this comes as no surprise.
- quomen, on 10/14/2007, -4/+39Oohhhh.. Thanks for that. No wonder he uses Keynote for his presentations o_O
- tyrione, on 10/13/2007, -12/+45No, but his position as Senior Senator made sure the Research Money went to advancing the project and that's where the crux of the confusion lay. Without his clout in D.C., the Internet would have never been mandated beyond Military and Advanced Educational Research.
- Spamcan, on 10/15/2007, -28/+60I know he used to be the vice president and everything, but alerting people about global warming shouldn't be a political issue. It's not like anyone is for global warming and fewer people everyday are denying it's existence. The disagreement is what to do about it, not that it exists.
- bariswheel, on 10/14/2007, -9/+41Most people forget that climate change is a scientific problem. I'm puzzled as to why the armpit of humanity we call politics has to bad mouth this important topic. I studied climate change and global warming in my college atmospheric physics and earth science classes. There was absolutely nothing political discussed.
Wake up and step outside the box, stop listening to other people's ***** opinions and inheriting them as your own, think for yourself, this issue is too important to leave in the hands of people that don't know what makes water boil. These people don't have science degrees. - INVALIDdecibels, on 10/13/2007, -6/+38You know there are "innacuracies" in your spelling of inaccuracies.
- djphatjive, on 10/14/2007, -9/+41He is a in office somewhere? How is this political?
- DiggsOnlyNeoCon, on 10/13/2007, -2/+30You left off Chuck Norris.
- rollerxpig, on 10/15/2007, -9/+36Just the worst word you could've said. You people need to get over it. Just calm down, how much did it really affect YOUR life?
- inactive, on 10/13/2007, -2/+27iAmen
- samrum, on 10/15/2007, -6/+30He's also Emperor of the Moon and has ridden the mighty moon worm.
- kaytrio, on 10/15/2007, -5/+28amen
- zweben, on 10/13/2007, -4/+27That's the first time I can remember that the Apple front page doesn't link to anything.
- Scruffydan, on 10/17/2007, -7/+29if only that were true. Sure there are less people denying the scientific consensus, but there is still a vocal minority that has the ear of certain politicians, and continue to cloud the scientific debate.
- ironhide, on 10/13/2007, -1/+22aww....someone dugg down your spew...I feel so bad for you.
- bugsy187, on 10/13/2007, -6/+25Gore left politics.
- neoform, on 10/13/2007, -0/+19Yeah, cause he's in a position to do that..... ?
- Billions, on 10/13/2007, -8/+27This is confusing to me... You're a 'MacManiac,' but yet you seem conservative... How do you deal with the inner-conflict?
- leontes, on 10/13/2007, -10/+28just a few. The majority of the film is considered to be overarchingly accurate, based on the information we do have.. Science is all about honest mistakes, that's how we grow, learn and further hypothesize. It's about having the boldness to ask and demand and question and learn and challenge and perceive.
- dav0, on 10/14/2007, -3/+21you are SUPPOSED to criticize leaders and question authority to keep them honest. if Americans did that more then you might not be in the mess you are in today.
/Canadian - MacSuxWindozSux, on 10/13/2007, -9/+26Yeah it's just the future of the human race at stake.
I didn't do any research, but because I'm scared at what he's saying I'm going to assume he's wrong.
It's better then actually getting off my fat ass and doing something.
/stupid - theuniversal, on 10/14/2007, -2/+18Well, when was the last time a Nobel Peace Prize winner was on Apple's BOD and was a good friend of the CEO? The tangential publicity probably isn't bad for Apple, but it's not going to have any significant positive impact on Apple's business or stock price either. I don't think the people crying about Apple getting mixed up in politics actually give a ***** about influence of corporations on politics. Because if they did, they'd be concerned about much bigger issues than a congratulations posted on a website.
- DeskFlyer, on 10/14/2007, -8/+24Sarcasm detector broken today, eh?
- CanadaMan87, on 10/13/2007, -1/+15"Don't lie rpfsc, you know you do."
Or, at least he would; if he knew any of their names. - Promantarius, on 10/13/2007, -1/+15You know, in spite of him getting modded down, that is kind of insightful. Most people wouldn't think of them when reading that quote, but it does apply to them also. It would take a genius or at least someone fairly intelligent to be able to alter the world on the scale that each of those individuals did, whether for 'the greater good' or their own megalomaniacal schemes.
- DaSuHouSe, on 10/13/2007, -6/+20The best way to describe him would be environmentalist. And FYI global warming isn't political..
- siszam, on 10/14/2007, -6/+20Gore concerns himself with matter that affects everyone on earth. No matter what your politics you have to live and climate change WILL touch you. You should be thankful that someone cares about your future even if you don't.
- mlostracco, on 10/14/2007, -5/+19All this complaining about a company "bringing politics into business," when he probably watches Fox News every single day.
Because businesses NEVER have political ties, one way or another. [rolls eyes] - JacNet, on 10/14/2007, -0/+13Actually after a certain amount of time you can resubmit a url.
- SaintStryfe, on 10/15/2007, -1/+14You say that like it's a BAD thing.
- aburd, on 10/13/2007, -0/+12Nerd!
- hmunkey, on 10/14/2007, -1/+13He is a Nobel Prize winner who is on the Apple board of directors you dumbass.
