- DonCarcharo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Excellent, I can't wait to finally get universal apps for my Intel Mac. Because really that's the whole point of this upgrade, right? Sure there's new features I'll probably never use and those... icons, but all I care about is decent performance at this point.

- geometry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12The article states that Dreamweaver will be included replacing GoLive, which I'm very happy about.
- kivimaki, on 10/12/2007, -6/+15I wonder how soon I'll be able to pirate it...
- tacojohn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10I wonder if Dreamweaver will be released with this...
- definiteform, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Terrible. Adobe does great work, and if you use it more than 5 minutes, you'll know it's worth purchasing.
- mccarron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I have CS3 Beta on my MacBook Pro and the thing even starts up lightning fast, within a few seconds. I am very impressed with it, so much that I trashed my CS2 install because I found the CS3 Beta very stable.
- alecks, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Looking forward to the new Illustrator... wonder why they haven't released a beta of that..
- Anrkist, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8"Terrible. Adobe does great work, and if you use it more than 5 minutes, you'll know it's worth purchasing." - You're right, they do an amazing job. For people who just create things for fun though.. the prices are way to steep. Unfortunatly Adobe Elements sucks and is not the Home Edition we need.
- blackjack75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4First thing I'll do, open photoshop and paint a grave: R.I.P. Rosetta, 2006-2007.
- .mark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It might sound stupid, but can we PLEASE get a Universal Binary version of Shockwave already?
- YoctoYotta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4In other news, torrent tracker sites see the early release of Adobe Systems' highly anticipated Creative Suite 3.0 software bundle in .iso format worldwide March 25, YoctoYotta confirmed Monday.
For all the do-gooders: I ain't saying it's right, I'm just saying. - Frozo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Agreed. Is it not just me that finds it grueling at times to use Photoshop/Illustrator CS2? I have the latest MacBook Pro. Things just seem to crawl--spinning beachball, crashing, etc.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7I see Mac sales spiking sharply this spring.
- wompninja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3There's big problems on the Intel based macs I use Illustrator all day at work and I have to be very careful not to crash the thing by doing simple operations like combining paths. Its ridiculous and I can't wait for this new version.
- Frozo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah I have the same problem with Illustrator. If pathinder crashes on you there is a workaround in case you dont know: 1) Open Illustrator 2) Close Appearance window 3) Quit and restart Illustrator.
I still want to ask others though since were on topic... is CS2 on Intel Macs ridiculously slow for everyone? or just me. - RaulMontana, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I think that the new apps are going to be awesome, I tested Photoshop cs3 on a crappy machine and it runs like a champ, so I'm excited for the release.
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Let's just hope Leopard comes out soon too... I'm waiting for both CS3 and OS X 10.5 to come out before I pick up that MacBook Pro I've been lusting over.
- Xanin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5paradox should come up with a release pretty soon
- tensafefrogs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is inaccurate. They are only announcing it on the 27th, the launch will be later this spring.
- DonCarcharo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm not too worried about preordering since Adobe typically provides 30 day demos of their apps. I usually download the demos as soon as they're released and then order my hardcopy. That way I get to use the apps immediately and I don't have to pay for expedited shipping. This only works of course if the demos are available the first week of sales.
- jer2eydevil88, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Running Photoshop CS2 in Roesetta on my new Macbook Pro is so very frustrating that for anything small I just run the PS CS3 beta 2 because even as a beta its many times faster than the emulated software.
With news like this the list of Universal software to get excited about gets shorter and shorter. The largest suite of software I am still looking forward to is Microsoft Office 2008. - dogearedboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Can't wait! All that's left (and slowing me down) is Office for Mac.
C'mon Microsoft! Let's get a move on! - rwallen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The new version of photoshop has implemented some stuff Corel Photopaint has had for years. Finally dockable palettes.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good news. Photoshop CS2 never quite got out of beta despite the version number.
- schneb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3@bendedavis
What are you talking about? GarageBand and Adobe Audition are two totally different apps! What is it you are trying to do that you would consider GarageBand? GarageBand is for creating music with loops, MIDI, and custom input audio. If you want to clean or manipulate audio, you would best look at other packages such as Soundtrack or AmadeusPro. - Deranged, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Damn. I never got creative suite 2... =
- wompninja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nope, sorry no Audition yet. This is just the creative suite not the production suite. All your video and audio files have to wait for awhile.
- jmreid, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3How about, the cost of an upgrade license?
Or maybe you wanted to let us know you have a company. - fowleryo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i tried replacing photoshop cs2 with cs3 as my primary editor, but it doesn't seem to want to recognize any plugins (scanner, filters, etc. ). oh well, doesn't seem like the wait will be much longer.
- thushan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1...Team Paradox releases CS 3 on bittorrent a week before release...
- MDrake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I actually held out on buying a Mac Pro for when CS3 came out. :)
- paulisnotdead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1MY BIRTHDAY IS THE 27.....
nobody loves me but Adobe - SupaDawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yay. goodbye imageready. Glad to see CS3 is finally preparing to drop. I love adobe's upgrades.
- Justin6512, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1FINALLY! only took forever!
- TimothyStickles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The teaser trailer linked to from whatisinthebox.co.uk/ suggests a user configurable bundle. As the box gets passed around, the "users" spin it to their desired apps --- you can match up the app with the color here:
http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/images/wheel-o'-icons.html
It seems for the most part they are showing: Photoshop (turquoise), Illustrator (orange), InDesign (magenta), Acrobat (or Flash - both are red), Dreamweaver and After Effects (or Premiere - purple). - nerditup, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2lol nice an early birthday present ;)
- scomartha, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Wonderful! I've never paid so much attention to this before.
- michaelarana, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1wonder if i can pre order?
- Sergiomon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I am dying to try it before buying it, but there seems to be no torrents for this yet.
- phogasmic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Once you buy your first copy. Upgrades are relatively cheap. The CS Suite is a very generous deal in my opinion. No reason to pirate.
Joey - TimothyStickles, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1accidental duplicate post [removed]
- phogasmic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Finally! I am truly excited about this release. I wonder how much a Flash, Dreamweaver, InDesign, PS, and Illustrator bundle is going to cost. They can shove Acrobat up they're arse.
- bendedavis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Does this mean new Adobe Audition? I was considering getting a mac for Garageband but a new version of Audition should be at least as good as garageband.
- scjones, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Creative suite3 torrent launches March 20th.
- codyfrisch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0i just hope they release after effects 8 soon too. And that the mac version of AE 8 is as fast as the Windows version, right now in my experience the performance difference between AE7 on PPC and AE7 on my macbook pro (under windows) is huge. (I have a powermac g5 for those who are going to jump and say im a moron that the macbook uses intel). But the performance difference between the two is astounding.
Hope V 8 PPC is also faster for that matter, i do like y powermac still - Stephiems, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I don't care how good a job Adobe does, since they basically have a monopoly they can charge as much as they want. If they cut the cost of the creative suite by a third or a half they would probably get 5 times as many people buying it instead of stealing it. Having a small design business with 2 or 3 computers means I have to spend 9000 just to get my computers up and going JUST for THEIR software, not counting the rest, that is a huge cost. Maybe if one copy could be used on up to 3 or 5 machines, or even 2 machines, it would make it easier. They are taking advantage of the fact that they can charge whatever they want and people still have to buy it. I have other software I find necessary, and if I think it is priced accordingly I have no problems buying it. Adobe are rip-off artists and there is nothing we can do about it.
- bendedavis, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Riiiight...
Adobe Audition is for creating music. In fact all the music I've recorded and mixed over the last year or two has been done with Audition. You can do loops and midi, and record directly into it. Get your facts straight. - ikak, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Dear nerditup,
For your birthday, I will release Adobe Creative Suite 3.0. Happy Birthday Pal! - crash2005, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1anyone who says that CS3 will be good.. I have 1 think to say..
