Whoops? - boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+54Be sure to report them. We can't fix them, otherwise.
- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+35127 people (so far) care.
- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+32That's right. Also, the canonical URL is http://beta.adiumx.com/ (it has moved before - it was a page on the website before we moved it to the Trac).
I'm an Adium developer, BTW. - mozzep, on 10/12/2007, -2/+29I was always under the impression that Miranda was an Adium type client, meaning Miranda was inspired by Adium. Anyways, everyone should thank the people at gaim for their hard work without which none of this would be likely to happen.
- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24By "report them", I didn't mean "to me". See: http://trac.adiumx.com/
- paulwilde, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26Adium DOES support file transfers.
- drakethegreat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24LOL right cause we all love those integrated clients for windows. Mac integrated IM clients are years ahead of the choices for windows.
- Clbck, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22@nyxeroster
You, sir, are a fool. I am running Windows right now, but I can respect the fact that new versions of programs for other OS's can still be good news. Respect other operating systems. - kaje, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22"And i'm sure there is more then 127 people who don't care about this program."
Well by that perfect logic, I'm sure the majority of Earth does not give a ***** about a single thing posted on digg, so scrap the site altogether.
Go hang yourself. Now. - matperk, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20awesome.
thanks for the link. I would've never been able to find this on my own. - zacwest, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Click the oval in the top-right corner of the contact list window, it removes the name/status pane. You can download any number of status icons at http://www.adiumxtras.com
- tapo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16"Now with 200% more cowbell"
- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Can you find all the Easter eggs that we inserted into the changelog? :)
- DevilsRejection, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15God dammit people always link to new versions of applications without showing the damn change log!
Here:http://trac.adiumx.com/browser/trunk/ChangeLogs/Adium_1.0b1_changelog.html?format=raw - titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Whoa, Whoa buddy! Just because some poeple (maybe yourself) don't care about Mac OS X because you don't have Adium (which I love absolutely) does not mean everyone else doesn't care. Why the heck do you think there is an Apple category on Digg? Evidently some people care outside that square box you live in where everything is fine and the clouds drop starbursts.
- cheesechick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Cocoa, not carbon.
- bolero421, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Awesome! Adium is my favorite chat client, downloading the beta now.
P.S. It's my favorite because I can change my dock icon to show Hobbes http://www.adiumxtras.com/index.php?a=xtras&xtra_id=155 - boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14*sweeps up the smoking remains of the Trac server*
- sprak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13And if you read the changelong, you'll find an amusing statement in the misc section:
"Consulted the Vorlon."
The Shadows aren't going to like this... - boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12As of 1.0b1, Adium supports file transfers over AIM, ICQ, and .Mac. FT may work over some other protocols as well, since we're using a newer libgaim now, but the joscar implementation (joscar being what we use on AIM and friends now) works much better.
In case you're wondering: joscar is a library for the OSCAR protocol. It can't do other networks because they don't use that protocol. libgaim handles everything else.
More info on joscar: http://www.adiumx.com/blog/2006/04/joscar-and-you.php - boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14I said no such thing. Read it again:
NoOneButMe (quoting beta page): "Do not post this beta to ... news sites".
Me: "That's right." (In other words: "What the beta page said. Don't post this beta to news sites.") - combatchuck, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Digg is not the place to report bugs in a program. Report to the developer.
- DCMacHead, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11I agree that iChat is more elegant, but it's nice to have "one stop shopping" for contacts within one IM application--I can live with that.
- tapo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Ooooh, the Jabber and Google Talk support just got much nicer. My contacts all have avatars (buddy icons) now, and the Jabber service icon is significantly less stupid.
Good work Adium guys! Still the best IM client on OS X. - borb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11That's freakin hilarious
- Caius, on 10/12/2007, -5/+15So use iChat and don't bitch about adium then, people can make up their own minds.
- zacwest, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Can't stop the signal!
- Synapsys, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Absolute genius. It was bound to come here somehow...

- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10No, the AdiumBeta page has *always* had that notice.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11"Do not post this beta to version tracking or news sites"
Which translates to "Hey, lets post this to Digg for instant front page approval!" - noneloud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Hmm, someone was hungry.....
"Added more popcorn to the general preferences."
"Added a contextual menu to make sandwiches tastier." - chirs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8My fav has always been the one in the about window.
- FluffyArmada, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Digg is being infiltrated by actual smart people and developers? Whoaa... :)
- robbclark, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9it likes to crash on me
- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I should point out that the Trac server is actually holding up very well. Thanks go to James Cox, who donates the hosting for our forums (http://forums.adiumx.com/ ) and Trac (http://trac.adiumx.com/ ). His server and bandwidth have weathered the storm of Diggers. :)
- Jeffrey903, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Adium is the best IM client for any operating system. Also, the redesigned chat viewer looks great! (just something that I noticed immediately).
- noneloud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Boredzo: 10th click of the duck gives a different kind of quack :P
- durin42, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8dangit boredzo, I helped *write* 1.0 and I haven't found all the bloody eggs yet. You'll have these people out of productive society for months.
- jhaitas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7they're waiting for libgaim to support voice and video... expect to see it in skype for mac first...
- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9I don't know why zacwest has been dugg down. He's our web guy, and one of the moderators of adiumxtras.com.
- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Keep looking! There are more :)
- vanlandw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6quite similar...adium is free where i believe trillian they want money for all the features and capabilities
trillian is good but in MHO adium is much more customizable and user friendly..and with file transfers finally working nothing is better - GodsHand, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Boredzo, just wondering if webcam support is something we can expect or is it too difficult?
- chirs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It'd be too hard for us to port Adium to any other platform.
- tehJR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"The secret message is: Green ducks flap faster."
- Arkitan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7If you don't care about Apple info, don't don't have digg show it, of course then you wouldn't be able to come in here and attention whore.
- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Adium 1.0b1 is backward-compatible with all (we hope ;) existing Xtras.
If you do find a regression, let us know, but everything should work as it always did. -
