- Ninjab3ar, on 10/12/2007, -10/+19I know! NOTHING HAPPENED.....
why must lame apple articles keep appearing in Digg? I bet you this will make it to the front page.
-this is coming from a Mac user. - itsme92, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12OMG Steve Jobs eats lunch at the company he works at!!!!!!!11111
- trghpy, on 10/12/2007, -13/+18OMG Steve jobs eats salad!
...
Common folks, we're nerds we don't need to start acting like Hollywood gossip groupies. - Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6People need to stop thinking Macs are ridiculously expensive. These days the cost of a Mac is perfectly comparable to that of a PC with identical specs. The 1.83GHz iMac is just $999. Hell, the 24-inch top-model iMac is $1999, which is still less than I paid for my last PC.
Not to mention, included in the price is the OS, iLife, and a year of support. - king1337, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7That is as it should be... an employer offering its employees a choice of Mac, Linux, or Windows. Perhaps some day we should all be so lucky.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6ricsad, did you analyze his entire personality in that 2 line comment?
- kirakun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Hold your excitement yet! Upcoming episode: Steve Jobs actually converts oxygen into carbon dioxide!
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Best of luck. You'll need it. The big companies like MS, Google, and Apple don't just hire anybody. They likely get thousands upon thousands of resumes every year and only pick the best of the best.
- noahhoward, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9Bury » Lame ???
- chazzy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"To be fair, if you're sitting down eating lunch and Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, or Larry Page and Sergey Brin walked into the room, I think just about anyone would stop and look."
Sure -- I've stopped eating to take notice of Valley celebrities. But I never blogged about it. And even if I did, I wouldn't expect anyone else to find it interesting enough to Digg ... - TheSaladMan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4"why must lame apple articles keep appearing in Digg?"
Like you said, it's DIGG. Most users have one thought when they see an Apple story:
"lol, Apple. Digg!" - Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Because it's about Apple and written by someone from Google. Any further questions?
- DaffyDuck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'll answer once you explain what you mean by sackride.
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2To be fair, if you're sitting down eating lunch and Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, or Larry Page and Sergey Brin walked into the room, I think just about anyone would stop and look. I mean, it's not every day you get to see people responsible for revolutionizing the tech industry.
- xenixninja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wonder how the crowd would react if someone wrote a post, but changing the name from Apple to Microsoft and changing Jobs to Gates?
Steve Jobs is one of the guys behind Apple. I would also be in aw if I saw him in person, but also if I saw Linus, Dalai Lama, Jim Carrey, Kirsten Dunst or any other person that is famous. - nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3News like this and no link to BBC or CNN?!!
I'm not emabarassed because one of my computers is a Mac, I just feel like a sucker for reading about that sad excuse for an event. A visit to Apple, some dudes had lunch. They saw the CEO of the company. OMG the excitement is killing me! ;-) - AquaAdult, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4 It was easy to tell that this guy wanted some Steve Jobs dick. "As the two moved across the room, there was no great commotion -- after all, this probably happens just about every day at Apple -- but our Google group and many other folks stopped eating long enough to follow the two rock stars around the room for awhile." The Apple groupies (google employees at Apple) stopped eating and tried to follow them into the bathroom to give Jobs a quick job of the blowing kind. After Jobs politely declined the BJ, the google employees cleaned up their semen stained pants and finished their lunch before leaving disappointed.
The saddest part of this article, is that the writer and his fellow employees of google are employed by such well respected company. - vaultspawn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yep!!! Same thing happened to me while visiting the Apple Campus for some training several years ago. I no longer work for Apple. I was eating inside Cafe Macs (Lots of nice choices) and there passes Steve Jobs with what appeared to be some developer guys...well at least they looked like developers guys. The only people that noticed that Steve passed by was our group of trainees...everyone else just kept on going about what they were doing. I said to myself......this opportunity that may not ever happen again. I got up and walked towards the direction of Steve and his crew pretending that I was getting something additional to eat. I targeted my path directly past Steve as he was lecturing this group of developers. The interesting part was not what Steve was doing surprisingly enough. While walking by I glanced at one of the developer guys who was looking straight at me as with the strong look of "I am so screwed I wish I was you just you passing by....." You could see a great fear in his eyes. I have no idea what they were talking about but I found out later that those guys were developers for Apple's Hardware Development division. Crazy.
- econoar, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I'm somehow getting dumber from reading the comments on this story so far.
- xenixninja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is sackride a word at all?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5The lengths the danboys will go to to get SOMETHING Apple related on the front page is pathetic.
- gmarks, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Go screw Bill Gates.
- gmarks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'd really like to see that if you really have seen it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"ricsad, did you analyze his entire personality in that 2 line comment?"
Uh no... are you stupid? - ddarting, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Haha what an uneventful post. Mac people are easily excited.
If they had visited Microsoft, and Bill Gates had walked in, the blog would have been about how Mr. Gates should have handed out $100 bills to everyone there but he didn't. At some point someone would have gone up and gotten something out of the vending machine only to have it eat their change. At which point we would have heard a comment about it probably running Windows. Finally, before the story had ended someone would have found a way to work in a snide remark about Microsoft Bob. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4I dunno about that... in some youtube video I watched about Steve Jobs.. he not someone you would want to work with.
Especially his anger problems. - jakhtar, on 10/12/2007, -8/+6Once again, I am embarrassed to be a Mac user.
- fr0ng, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Why does digg.com sackride Apple so much? I'm not referring to this specific article...but since I joined this place, the overwhelming Apple sackriding has really got me wondernig...so I ask you, why?
- ThinkingMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3I just saw Steve Jobs in the lunch room and he said he totally likes you. He wants to meet you for organic smoothies after school!
You saw Steve Jobs at the Apple lunch room. I once saw Stephen Hawking at Burger Continental in Pasadena. Maybe I should blog about it - Oh yeah that was it. I just saw him. True story though. - NanoStuff, on 10/12/2007, -8/+5"why must lame apple articles keep appearing in Digg?"
I don't know whether to mod you up for being right, or mod you down for being a mac user. I'll just leave you alone :) - andyman25, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Why is this on the front page?
- NewChar, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3This "story" is a great example of why people in the Mac cult make everyone else uneasy. The cultists are both creepy and sad.
- Mikecol, on 10/12/2007, -9/+5If you worked at Google you'd be able to afford to pay for one.
- rheaume, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Unlike me, who got dumber reading the story itself
- gmarks, on 10/12/2007, -10/+5And thats why I plan to work at Apple when I graduate.
BTW: I am 13, I hope Steve still works there when I do. - n00bst3r, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Sound to me Google is the place to work. I bet Apple marks up its own employees' lunch prices because they come in pretty boxes, and charge their employees for computers.
- Jake2, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Reply to now pointless wrong post. Go me. :(
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+1wrong post
- RadiantBeing, on 10/12/2007, -14/+4Build an OS X86 system if you can't afford a mac.
