- kazaru, on 10/12/2007, -12/+50holy *****, I learned to open a box guys, look I even took pictures.
- CrispyMo, on 10/12/2007, -25/+63Enough with the unboxed iPod pictures already...
- sdrawkcaB, on 10/12/2007, -5/+30I agree, it's torture to see them when all I have is a 40GB 4th gen!
- mikewitt, on 10/12/2007, -6/+21Well I only have a 10 Gb 3rd gen.
:-P
(No really, stop it with the iPod stuff. It seems like a viral marketing campaign to overthrow the not yet available zune) - bitcloud, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Enhanced features:
1. It's got an extra 20 gig.
2. Apple update the firmware, but lock us out of easily installing it our 60 gig ipod in the expectation we'll pay another $500 for rudimentary "search" and "brightness" "enhanced features" which are not hardware dependent.
hooray for apple. - sven007, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9probably not. You pay for the mp3 player, the headphones are just included becuase they have to be. it's like cards they give you in cameras, how many pictures can you take with 16 mbs
- chicagospur, on 10/12/2007, -9/+16Unboxing the iPod? You guys need to get out more often.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8@MasterGrief
The huge storage is for video/movies - duke_nate, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13Definatly another prime example of the iProduct...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/duke_nate/iProduct.gif - WoahPuppets, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7the brightness thing is cool to see side by side
- ZombieFlanders, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5..which you have to pay $29 dollars for if you want to buy them standalone, too.
/Pissed 'cause they charge $80 for a second power adapter for my MacBook - dawglse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Not only 20,000 songs. Videos too.
Also, I use the extra space on my 60GB has an external hard-drive. - dawglse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The foam earbud covers suck ass. They rip when you put them on. Also not very comfortable in your ears. They itch.
The slip sucked too, it caused more scratches than it being out of it. - youngcable, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Well, the earbuds look different... wonder if they sound any better
- CBTF, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4OH ***** IT LOOKS LIKE ALL THE OTHER IPODS IVE SEEN.
Enough already. - Rigbymatt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The black values on the new screen look MUCH better
- astutissimo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3People have been saying "XX is too much" ever since I can remember. And they were ALWAYS wrong. I wouldn't mind carrying around all my favorite movies on top of the music.
- Pic0, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5FINALLY
I was worried. I wasn't going to be able to buy an iPod cause I didnt know how to open the box it was in, but now, NOW I am free to purchase one. Thank you!
FYI: Next time I buy socks I will make sure to take pictures and show the internet how to open a bag of socks. - TheCookieMaker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4@MasterGrief
I have 400 Cd's and so my music collection is at around 25 Gig at the moment plus a couple videos and files I keep stored on my iPod.
Some people have more Music or More Movies than I do. plus if you save your songs at a high bit-rate then that takes up more space.
My brother also uses his iPod as a backup hard drive for his computer.
So I don't think that we will ever have to much storage space. - ipodman715, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5With the 1.2 firmware upgrade you get all the features except the search.
- beerorkid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2my mom is more interesting.
oooooh look my music player matches my curtians and couch. - dawglse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I could maybe see the new nano, but all this is is a slight software and hdd update...?
No reason to get excited over.
I'm fine with my 60GB Video for now... - agentofchange, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3MY GOD!! Its looks exactly like every other ipod!
apple's creative genius never ceases to amaze me.... - zeabrid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I have a 5G 60 Gig filled to the brim, but I'm not going to rush out and buy another one.
Though, I'm going to be extremely pissed if they don't add the Search feature to the original 5G, that would just be complete *****. - emorphien, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This is stupid. We need a link to an article on the unboxing of a barely updated product? If it were something new, then maybe it would be worth it but this would entertain only the most devout of apple fanboys.
I'd really like to see the unboxing of Nike's newest pair of shoes... that would be quite informative. - geekoid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nope, the brightness function is available on older 5G units. Someone got 14.5 hours of use out of it with the brightness at the lowest level too...
- mobilehavoc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's the same damm iPod with a bigger HD inside which you can't even see in the pics!
It's like taking two hard drives and showing unboxing pics...oooh look this one is 120G and this one is 250G...oooohhh....ahhhhh.
Get a life. Buried. - lordhidetora, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4i have a mini 6 gig...i want this one so badly. >.
- toppgun, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4i still use my first gen ipod. still works and does what i need it to do.
- tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -11/+12It looks exactly the same as the 'old' 5G iPod. What's the point of this... really. I'm wondering.
- alienbiker99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+180gb isnt too much. considering i have over 20gb of music. and plus it is a VIDEO player too. theres never enough space ;-)
- Qu1kK1ll, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I can't wait until I can buy it through my school w/ a $30 discount... ^_^
- Bilbobaggins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just love all these iPod unboxings. So exciting!
- dosterm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've got like 90 gigs of MP3s. I know, it's ridiculous, but why not, anymore? HDD space has been really cheap for a while. It just takes an interest in multiple genres of music to fill up quite a bit of space. I don't expect this much room in a portable player, but it would be nice to sync up collections and not worry about what you might want at any particular time.
This is not to be snobby, it's just to point out that there are people who are interested in more portable storage. I won't be buying one yet, but I could see where lots of people might. - imdeanlabouty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hm. My black 30GB didn't come come with foam earbud covers or a black iPod slip (mine's white).
- weiran, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why is the headphone and dock connector on the black iPod still white in colour? Make them black FFS!
- vprice509, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Check out the photos again. That is how I figured out that my 'old' 5G now has brightness setting. Except for the storage and battery enhancement I would bet money that the guts are identical, other Apple would have dubbed this a '6th Gen.'
- Wavey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1More iPod unboxing. I don't know why this is making me think of Whose Line Is It Anyway's "If You Know What I Mean" game...
"You can help me fluff my Garfield, if you know what I mean."
"Yeah, I've been unboxing my iPod, if you know what I'm saying." - DoTheFandango, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Me.
- Steelfox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Gotta admit, search should be pretty helpful considering the amount of stuff you'll have on an 80 gig.
- tektalk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2what the *****?
the ipod is a simpleconcept, get a ***** harddrive and make it play songs. ive seen smaller hardrives with more bang for the buck then this overdressed thing called an ipod - shultzy055, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2man, I'm sure glad I was able to see some pictures of this new product. Look at that new 80gb hard drive! It's so much sleeker then the 60gb!
/sarcasm off
It's the same thing, we don't need pictures - igraham09, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1guess what? dont care
no digg because of the fact that this is like the 4th "unboxing" (or similar) post - Pic0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Pretty sure they never added stuff in the past. Why change? They want you to buy another.
- eleazarfunk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@Zanneth
Plus videos. I have 60 gigs of music anyway so that would work out fine for me. - titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Wow so do I, never eat school lunch.
- waza8501, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6I got a 5th gen 30GB november last year, I need this one.
- Coffeedemon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I've got 43 GB of MP3s alone right now and growing. Currently just using a Rio Carbon but if that ever dies (hard to say if it will - its been dropped everywhere and is only scratched). I might check out a new iPod - 80 GB wouldn't go astray with some video files and if its compatible with my digital camera it becomes a portable harddrive if I'm away from a computer for a while. How fragile are they typically?
- PyroOnASwing, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1wow, you guys get more and more creative with your ipod bashing as each comment moves along.
so some people are exciting about a new ipod, calm down. you know we'll be seeing the same posts when people get their zunes shipped in. -
