- Jambi, on 12/13/2007, -4/+39As a Mac user, I'm of the opinion that these jackasses give us a bad name. Tattooing some corporate logo on your neck is the height of idiocy.

- kiwiboyus, on 12/13/2007, -1/+13Wow you really swallowed that BS hook line and sinker didn't you. Next you'll tell us that Apple isn't interested in making money and that they donate it all to charity.
- RealHyperX, on 12/13/2007, -3/+13Some of the MAC users remind me of militant lesbos. They always have something to prove.
- noahhoward, on 12/13/2007, -6/+15Yep, never seen any of this from Linux or Windows users, nope, nuh-uh, never http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www. ...
- voyvf, on 12/13/2007, -1/+10Though I'm not an apple guy, myself, the mailbox case-mod was actually pretty cool.
- SuperOmegaSlack, on 12/13/2007, -4/+11Yes there are fanboys for everything... but Apple fanboys usually lack any technical knowledge and will have no problem telling you how much better MACs are than PC's!
The moral...
All fanboys are annoying! - hackntossh, on 08/27/2008, -0/+7I think the roof of the Mini is pretty funny actually.
- sgtpppr, on 12/13/2007, -1/+7Wow, I gotta give it to Apple's marketing department. Not only does their marketing campaigns sell crazy amounts of product to people who need an identity, but their customers will actively market for them to the point of defending their brand as a 'way of life'. Horrifying.
- seraph582, on 12/13/2007, -4/+10yyyyYYYAAAAYYYyyyy -- let's all roll around in Steve Jobs' pooooo!!!!
/roll /roll /roll - SIRBERUS, on 12/13/2007, -0/+5Users can be bad... but what is even more horrifying are Apple Employees.
Through my experiences, I have come to the conclusion that walking in to an Apple store and trying to convince an employee that your Mac is broken (in my case a macbook pro) is like walking into a church and trying to convince a priest that the Bible is broken.
I have never, in my life, had to spend so much energy pointing out the obvious like I do when I visit an Apple store with a problem. - jj101, on 12/13/2007, -3/+8I have a mac, my business is based around them and I think they deliver great products. Even so your comment is ridiculous. Do you buy into all marketing campaigns with the same zeal?
- TheSabre, on 12/13/2007, -0/+5One person doing something is not the same as hundreds doing something. There's a difference between being an idiot and being a fanboy.

- lava, on 12/13/2007, -0/+4Ok, that's fair. Now, find me ANOTHER person with a zune tattoo.
Here's a bunch of different apple tattoos: http://images.google.com/images?source=ig&hl=en&rl ... - inane, on 12/13/2007, -0/+4That's nowhere near as cool as my Teddy Ruxpin tattoo.
- a5tr0cr3ep, on 12/13/2007, -0/+3disregarding the content. the quality of the actual artisanship is lacking
- Urkel, on 12/13/2007, -2/+5I think "The Destruction of Digg" should be a reason. Seriously, we all love our Macs but Apple isn't the center of the universe. So these people that maliciously digg down non-apple stories, go out of their way to defend Apple even when it's not being attacked, and all the competition bashing is just plain obnoxious.
Digg would be a much better place if people could stop being unpaid PR reps for billion dollar companies, and just Digg stories that are worthwhile. - webtickle, on 12/13/2007, -7/+10mybad, it is 8... not 6 ways.
- jemka, on 12/13/2007, -2/+5"Fanboyism", to me, is more when subjective remarks are made about a product or service with little to no factual backing. This is merely people expressing a love for apple. I see nothing wrong here.
Now if any of these people tell me that apple is the best OS in the world and there is no exception, then we'll have a problem. Until then, do whatever it is you're doing proudly. - tony23, on 12/13/2007, -0/+3It's not a lifestyle - it's a freakin' COMPUTER!
- lemur, on 12/13/2007, -2/+5OK you asked for it. Let me analyze your statements.
Line one opens with an exciting ad hominem attack. This from of false argument sets a bad precedent and does nothing to discredit your opponent--it makes you look arrogant and condescending, the very icon of Mac fanboyism that you are claiming to refute.
Almost all Mac users have been PC users. One fact is that almost all people who have ever touched a computer in their life have been a "PC" user. Macs are not cost effective (the price is high and the benefits are not substantial or obvious), which makes the market share so low. That means by default most people use a PC of some sort before finding out that they can switch brands in order to feign "technical" knowledge. This is a bluff many people employ simply professing a strong preference toward a certain technology, fooling others into believe that the strength of their preference is due to technical insight. Not all Mac users have done this, but I believe it's the basis for your position.
You claim to be a very technical person, but you don't say what you do. Many professions and livelihoods may be described as "technical" yet have no direct relationship with computer engineering or science.
Also, getting back on track, the fallacy that you are running with has to do with "who is who." Your opponent is juvenile, you're technically superior, your political faction is more experienced. You don't provide any factual evidence to combat that statement that simply says "Apple fanboys usually lack technical knowledge." It's fallacious to use your identity or the identity of your opponent to invalidate their argument.
Here's some meat for you: you would rather not worry about spyware or viruses? If you don't, that means you don't have technical knowledge. Your statement implies that Macs don't suffer from this problem. In fact, they do, which means from a technical standpoint you should be worrying about these things (unless you just don't care about security).
Also, the fact that you can service Windows for your family doesn't help. Windows System administration is a menial task... it's not difficult or technical. The fact that you do that has nothing to do with your argument that Mac enthusiasts have technical knowledge.
Your argument is all poppycock. - inactive, on 12/13/2007, -1/+4Call it what it is: A CULT !!! ( no questioning, no thinking, just following )
- lnxfi, on 12/13/2007, -2/+4That's a bit much. An Apple tattoo (or any company logo tattoo for that matter)?! That kind of tattoo dwarfs the stupidity of tattooing a boy/girlfriend's name on yourself. Absolute douchebaggery.
- djbon2112, on 12/13/2007, -0/+2I agree, don't know why you're getting buried. That's the definition of the word!
It's still pretty pathetic, but it isn't fanboyism per se. - surfing, on 12/13/2007, -1/+3(same thing I tell my nephews): that's really good! What is it?
- Balanced, on 12/13/2007, -0/+2Dude, MacAddict was publsihing pics of guys with Apple Tattoos back int he late 90s... Like a friend of mine.
- jj101, on 12/13/2007, -2/+4Lol. Whatever floats your boat son!
- seraph582, on 12/13/2007, -1/+3THE IRONY!! The Zune guy is the only one "thinking differently"
ROFL - neodorian, on 12/13/2007, -0/+2Disagree. I got a good deal on one and it's actually a hell of a good player.
- lilaliend, on 12/13/2007, -1/+3They're not all like that. I've had plenty of good and helpful experiences getting my computers worked on under warranty. I'm very knowledable of them myself and can usually walk in, tell them whats wrong, and they'll just do short tests to make sure. I've probably gone in to get a computer or iPod fixed 5 times, across 3 stores, and only had one annoying experience. The annoyance was from me telling the guy whats wrong and him not agreeing, then after the tests showed I was right he still ordered other parts cause 'I'm still not sure thats the problem so I'm getting these just in case." 4 out of 5 times isn't bad at all.
- inactive, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1This is the real reason behind so many apple fans:
http://digg.com/apple/Mac_vs_PC_Parody_The_Unspoke ... - PixelKid, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1fanboy fanboys rule!! you go girl! :p
- xoineg, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1Some tattoos look hot on a cute girls...
- joe90210, on 12/13/2007, -0/+17) sending death-threats to journalists who say something negative about apple
- xt0ph3r, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1If you still live there, move.
- aduzik, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1So, I'm a huge Apple fanboy but even I think the Zune is a pretty great music player. The WiFi is still kind of pointless, but the new Zune pad control is totally badass.
- deadnoob, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1the mini cooper is the only thing thats nice, the rest is pretty lame.
- xoineg, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1David pogue is a fan boy?
- knightboat, on 12/13/2007, -2/+3I usually see it the other way around. Pro-Apple story goes on front page, comments go up by the hundreds with PC users getting madly defensive over nothing and going on dull price/performance lectures and point-by-point product comparisons.
Of course there are jerkoff Apple kids spreading the smug, but it seems more often now that scrolling through the comments is an exercise in burying unnecessary, vitriolic anti-Apple ***** instead of having an actual discussion on the article itself. - cdubd, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1can we all agree to stop using the word "fanboy" !!! It has seriously gone too far. Use another word to describe someone's obsessive fanaticism!
- mdavis, on 12/14/2007, -0/+1somebody's got an inferiority complex.
- bedouin, on 12/14/2007, -0/+1The word fanboy is more irritating than any of these photos, and those who use the term are more irritating than any of the subjects in these photos.
- hichnii, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1derder, what is it?
http://hubpages.com/hub/Swallow-Tattoos - neodorian, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1I agree. That was the only cool one although I echo seraph's sentiment.
- Bense, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1Business in the front, Nerd in the back (apple hair cut)
- theycallmebubba, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1I agree too. Once, I took my MBP to the Genius Bar to have it checked out (I had bought it previously owned: it had a bad optical drive with the effing CHRONICLES OF NARNIA JAMMED IN IT). The Genius that helped me was pretty cool, and he asked me to get out the power brick to plug it in so he could check it without doubting it had power. I thought this was kind of odd, considering there were 10 other ones plugged in that the Geniuses use... but I did it anyways. Well, long story short, I forgot it there (it was a brand-new one), drove 30 minutes back home without it, and called to see if it was still there. Then the guy on the phone tells me "I'm sorry sir, we don't use any power supplies but our own - your case is impossible." I wanted to scream. Finally, I drive back there, and ask just to make SURE they don't have it, and they bring out this old, scratched, loose brick, and tell me "this is all we've got back there... and we shouldn't even give you THIS one - but here you go." I was SEETHING by now... then six months later, their 'pity brick' shorts out, melts itself, and I'm forced to wait a MONTH for Apple to ship me a new one. Thanks, Apple. Your products might be 'intuitive, easy to use, and work like I do', but when they DON'T, you eff me... but I still have the MBP (working now), and a 2nd gen iPod mini, lol...
- AAK15, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1There should be one about Ron Paul fanboys
