- frascellyboy273, on 02/17/2009, -2/+5369? really techradar?
- kihadat, on 02/17/2009, -0/+46Some of these are really "duh" tips. Like the suggestion that you search for music in your itunes library by using the "search" toolbar in the upper right corner of iTunes. Brilliant! Or highlighting multiple items when adding tag information. Why didn't I think of that before?!
- rendan66, on 02/17/2009, -2/+45Cmd + Alt + click on desktop is awesome
- Dejital, on 02/17/2009, -6/+35The best timesaver for OSX is Quicksilver.
- snagra, on 02/17/2009, -11/+3569 ... I like.
- DinosWillDie13, on 02/17/2009, -0/+23thats awesome. i thought you had closed all of my windows at first.
- Meltz014, on 02/17/2009, -1/+22My "Option" key also says "Alt"

I have a macbookpro, so no fancy 3rd-party keyboards, either. - Warcrack, on 02/17/2009, -8/+25dugg for 69
- tama00, on 02/17/2009, -1/+16Pretty basic tips really.

- drmitchell, on 02/17/2009, -2/+16Should be titled, "69 things anyone who's been using a Mac for more than five years already knows but forward the relevant ones to your mom so she'll stop emailing you every time she can't find her web browser."
- diggerman32, on 02/17/2009, -1/+14JESUS BALLS... well played good sir
- DinosWillDie13, on 02/17/2009, -0/+11or tick the "remember me" box.... really?
- apolloae, on 02/17/2009, -0/+11okay there are a billion of these articles, but nobody mentions the trick for cycling through windows within a single application (especially useful for iChat and multiple browser windows).
its cmd+tilde - jasegruver, on 02/17/2009, -1/+11Microsoft's next ad campaign slogan:
Windows. . . Found to be more intuitive and streamlined by Tractor Drivers born in 1988. - AbsurdParadox, on 02/17/2009, -11/+21HAHAHAH ITS FUNNAY CAUSE ITS 69!!!1!11!1one!!!
psyche. - inactive, on 02/17/2009, -5/+14No, because "getting a virus faster" isn't consider a desirable time-saver.
- waluigi14, on 02/17/2009, -0/+8Dude, don't ***** compare Safari to Internet Explorer! You may not like it, but it has great standards compliance, and is just fine for normal people to use if they don't need a bunch of extensions (it does have some plugins, ad blockers and the like). The Webkit nightly build of Safari is one of the fastest browsers (if not THE fastest browser) currently available.
- inactive, on 02/17/2009, -0/+8I'm still trying to find this Sifari you speak of.
- eightyd, on 02/17/2009, -0/+8I guess this would be a good list for recent switchers, but for any even slightly-experienced mac users these are all no-brainers. How to use the search feature in itunes? Come on.
- inactive, on 02/17/2009, -4/+11Somehow these articles are pro-mac and end up feeling like macs suck so bad that we need to read obvious usability tips for them.
- lateralus, on 02/17/2009, -2/+9That's an odd number of time savers.
No, seriously. It's an odd number. - ism70605, on 02/17/2009, -2/+9Safari is awesome, and so is Camino, but Firefox on OS X is not so great as the scrolling is atrocious.
- restlessdesign, on 02/17/2009, -2/+9"9. Open your applications faster and easier
Rather than navigating to the Applications folder, use the Spotlight search bar at the top-right of Finder and type in the first few letters of the program's name. It will then appear almost at once and you can click on its name to launch it."
...or just get Quicksilver like anyone else. - vashmyvindows, on 02/17/2009, -1/+8Option + Click&Drag to highlight a square of text in TextEdit, Preview, etc.
Really helps when you need to highlight something but leave out bullet points or other miscellaneous columns of information.
Oh, and its been said, but Quicksilver, Quicksilver, Quicksilver. What else can you use to email notes and files, launch apps, and control iTunes all with a couple keystrokes? - richthomas, on 02/17/2009, -0/+6riiiiight… registry, taskbar, program files & start menu shortcuts vs no registry, dock & exposé, application bundles
- inactive, on 02/17/2009, -2/+7I'm not anti-windows. I usually only save the snarky comments like the one I said above for when someone says something stupid. I'm also aware that if you take a little time, learn a few things and make smart decisions then your PC won't get a virus 90% of the time. In the interest of being fair, however, you don't have to learn or do anything to keep your Mac from getting a virus and, no matter how you look at it, that's an added value for many, many people.
- ironiridis, on 02/17/2009, -0/+5Whoa! I didn't realize they weren't dropping betas through their updater anymore. I'm running beta 54 from November 14, 2007... I'm updating now! Thanks!
- HigherLogic, on 02/17/2009, -0/+5They're already using *nix...
- iericg, on 02/17/2009, -0/+4In case any one isn't aware yet check out...

It's still in beta but seems promising. - inactive, on 02/17/2009, -4/+8#72 curse yourself for getting Ubuntu and Windows, go back to Os X
- compwizz, on 02/17/2009, -1/+5"20. Save time logging out
To log out as quickly as possible, press Cmd + Shift + [Q] then [Enter]."
It's even quicker if you press Cmd + Option + Shift + [Q]. It skips the dialog box asking you if you want to log out altogether. - akawraith, on 02/17/2009, -15/+19#71
Uninstall Windows - therightclique, on 02/17/2009, -1/+5like ***** it is.
- ironiridis, on 02/17/2009, -0/+4You have no idea what you're missing. In terms of keyboard evangelists (those that cringe when they watch someone meander all over the screen with their mouse) this is the ultimate application.
- travisMarc, on 02/17/2009, -0/+4I <3 you. I always got mad that apple's version of alt+tab (cmd+tab) couldn't do that.
- jdubyah, on 02/17/2009, -2/+6I just wasted 35 minutes doing everything in that article.
- ism70605, on 02/17/2009, -0/+3Maybe GNOME is, but X.org's X11 is slow and pure ***** compared to OS X's Quartz. But my experience shows OS X to be a bit more productive.
- raydeen, on 02/17/2009, -0/+3Thank you. I use a MacBook for work and know some of the shortcuts but had never seen that one. I usually just use Expose to get to whatever I need. This is much faster. If I can give Apple kudos for one thing, it's having the Cmd key as the main shortcut key. Very nice when copying, flipping apps and pasting. Just change fingers and keep the thumb in one place. Now if they can just swallow their pride and have have a more Commander/Explorer type file manager by default...
- mediaphile, on 02/17/2009, -0/+3Five years? I knew this stuff after a week with my Mac.
- koick, on 02/17/2009, -0/+3FYI: it's Google Quick Search Box is an open source search box that allows you to search data on your computer and across the web, and the correct url is:

- jfulls, on 02/17/2009, -0/+3I was just in a classroom where people didn't know which mouse button to click.
- inactive, on 02/17/2009, -0/+31: dont read this article. it will take longer than the time you will save on the 2 items you did not know, and can use.
- derbloodlust, on 02/17/2009, -0/+3Cmd + Alt + click on desktop doesn't do anything for me. What is it supposed to be doing? Cmd+F3 will show desktop...
Edit: Ah, nevermind, switched to another space then back and tried it again and it worked. Hide windows, awesome. I guess it's a bit buggy with Spaces. - BBarash, on 02/17/2009, -0/+2@derbloodlust - It hides all open windows.
- adunlevie, on 02/17/2009, -0/+2QS is one of the most useful pieces of software I have ever encountered. I was reading this article thinking, wow, QS sure would have rendered a few of these tips obselete....
- AmyVernon, on 02/17/2009, -1/+3This "AmyVemon" person is an impostor, btw and has been reported to Digg support. Again...
