- peestandingup, on 03/04/2009, -13/+113OK, Mac user here, but I really have a problem with everyone calling themselves geeks these days.
Just because you have a Mac & download apps on your ***** iPhone doesnt mean you're a geek, so sit down & STFU already! You douche bags are giving us real geeks a bad name. - inactive, on 03/04/2009, -28/+126Funny how there are more people who will never use or buy a Mac commenting here than anyone else. If you guys hate Macs so much, just block the category. Other than that, you're just making lots of noise, and not convincing anyone of anything.
- bobcrotch, on 03/04/2009, -19/+90I own a macbook but refuse to be apart of this kind of *****.
- pathouston22, on 03/04/2009, -39/+110Wow, it only took to get to #2 to find out that a douchebag with a pink popped collar shirt and an apple logo on the breast wrote that article.
I FOUND IP ADDRESS ON MAC. What a freaking joke. - jawbreaker4fs, on 03/04/2009, -4/+691. A short history of Apple, Inc.

- TheR3dMenace, on 03/04/2009, -25/+73All this flaming by non-mac users is really annoying. You guys are just as douchy as the people who write articles like this
- VeritasAequitas, on 03/04/2009, -9/+53I'm a mac guy, at work I am THE Mac guy in our IT department, and this list is a WASTE OF TIME! there are very few useful comments in the whole thing and a lot of crap filler. Some Mac wanna be wonk wrote this up to make ad quota this month.
- yaminohikari, on 03/05/2009, -7/+45Fanboys in general ought to shut the ***** up. PC fanboys are no exception. And yes, contrary to the popular Digg opinion that only type of computer fanboy is a Mac fanboy, PC fanboys do actually exist. (ZOMG EARTH-SHATTERING DISCOVERY!) And from reading these comments, they definitely aren't a rare breed.
- jgtg32a, on 03/04/2009, -2/+27Thank you
- digitalpencil, on 03/04/2009, -4/+29yeah, there's something i've got to say as well..
we're not all elitist, starbucks-drinking, screenplay writing ***** who would buy anything and everything that Apple has ever made.
people love to group everyone who chooses to use os x into this douche category but it simply doesn't apply. The same way that everyone who uses *nix isn't necessarily an Ubuntu evangelist, some of us genuinely appreciate the os and hardware designs, are less than impressed with recent hardware refreshes and cringe on the inside when we read snob-ridden blogspam like this poor excuse for an article.
there are a load of people who seem to think their macbook somehow granted them entry into this special club but the majority realize they're computers and simply prefer os x to other alternatives. - jonmlm, on 03/04/2009, -12/+30wow, guess the author hasn't used a windows machine in 10 years
- corybidan, on 03/04/2009, -4/+21I don't understand the hate towards this article.
As a new MacBook Pro owner.. (first one) I found it very informative. I found out a few tips I didn't know and thought the article was well wrote.
That said... everyone... A mac is a computer... It's no better or worse then a PC running windows. Sure I like how OSX is compared to Windows.. I've been a windows user all of my life until this laptop. And I'll settle the fanboy-ism right now...
IT'S A ***** COMPUTER!! Grow up, noboday cares if it runs OSX or Windows.. its the same god damned thing. - OPR8R, on 03/04/2009, -5/+22I think these Apple articles get dugg up so that macbashers can have fun insulting mac fans where everyone can see it.
True computer geeks can see the benefit of both (Windows/Mac OS) platforms.
This reminds me of the old Chevy vs. Ford arguments- childish and boring.... - klowngoblin, on 03/04/2009, -8/+25you mean WINDOWKEY+Pause/break ?
its only 1 step for windows - ajcates, on 03/04/2009, -9/+25Aww but you have to right click, that ain't easy on a mac.

http://www.maclife.com/print/3952 - CorporateMartyr, on 03/04/2009, -4/+17i dont own a macbook and i do refuse to be a part of this kind of *****
- inactive, on 03/04/2009, -1/+14Post links to such articles "full of apple buddies", or you are full of *****.
People love to talk about Apple fanboys, and conveniently forget about all the Microsoft fanboys that completely flood any Apple story.
Can we get those links by the way? - ileftfark, on 03/04/2009, -1/+14Now do you see why you wait 5 minutes before criticizing someone's post?
- ophello, on 03/05/2009, -0/+13It isnt mac fanboys that are the problem. It is ALL fanboys.
- SquigglyP, on 03/04/2009, -2/+15I'd digg you for preventing people from having to click through several pages to read the article, but I'd bury you for the fact that you just made me read the article again.
So you get nothing from me... - Egroh08, on 03/05/2009, -2/+14LOL Completely agree. Digg has gotten to the point that if you even mention the word "Mac" in a positive light you are labeled as a "fanboy" or douche bag.
The windows users lately have been the most annoying group on digg, what with their constant victimization... and hyperbole when it comes to describing mac users.
/rant - fugazied, on 03/04/2009, -1/+13Yeah I use a Macbook pro everyday, and I do prefer OS X over Windows, but number 2 was like 'wtf'. They could have included a couple of valid reasons, eg. 'Macs have the tried and tested UNIX permissions system', 'Macs don't slow down like Windows OS does over time', 'Macs don't need disk defragmentation', 'Macs don't need anti-spyware software', 'Mac doesn't have a registry', 'Macs have a much smaller chance of getting a virus'.
- NotShorty, on 03/05/2009, -0/+1157. MAC = cosmetics, Mac = computers
- jgtg32a, on 03/04/2009, -2/+13Neat
- tama00, on 03/04/2009, -3/+14Congratulations Digg you just reached a new low! These comments suck.
- inactive, on 03/04/2009, -39/+5054. No one cares.
- Billions, on 03/05/2009, -5/+15You're afflicted with the same annoying ***** desire to shout about it as any Mac fanboy. You're the same thing in my eyes.
- MacParrot, on 03/04/2009, -0/+10And that makes it OK? It's BS done there and it's BS done here. God forbid someone have a preference different than someone else (that's to all the fanboys)
- Billions, on 03/05/2009, -3/+13By nature of that misspelling, you are actually saying you "refuse to be left out of this kind of *****" - so what's it gonna be? "Is he gonna ***** or is he gonna kill us?"
- kevine, on 03/04/2009, -12/+22That's because there are a lot of retards on Digg. They want to feel intellectually superior to everyone so they hate on this article, even though there are some really good tips for Mac novices here.
- PasteEater, on 03/05/2009, -2/+12Spoken like a true *****.
- tmanv, on 03/05/2009, -0/+9Or they digg it just so more people get to see their comment.
- gwaggy12, on 03/04/2009, -3/+12I know quite a few programmers who use mac for the Unix environment without having to put up with Linux. You're right though, most Mac users have no need for any of these tips.
- immatellyouwhat, on 03/05/2009, -1/+10I love my Macs, but I do NOT praise Apple for every frickin thing, I mean look at the last update, Mac mini for $600? And lame iMac updates. I am cautious when to buy my products, I wait til the price goes down or wait for the 2nd generation. Apple is not God and treating them like that definitely gives us other users a bad name. I like Macs because they have a different user experience and I like the GUI that's being integrated. People will like what they like but don't push so hard on other people and tell them their ***** sucks.
- timusca, on 03/04/2009, -0/+9OK, I'm a Mac user, but WTF does #34 have to do with a Mac?
"Let your feet do the walking after your fingers do the clicking.
In case you hadn’t noticed, Google Maps now offers biking or walking directions to a destination. In major cities, you can even get directions for taking public transit. To hoof it, in Google Maps, just click Walking when your directions come up. Mother Earth thanks you, by the way!" - theOster, on 03/04/2009, -21/+30whenever i think "geek" i never think "mac". but when i think "mac" i think "douche"
- Avalontor, on 03/04/2009, -3/+11I see you are new here. Why don't you browse the Linux and Windows areas.
Go ahead i'll wait...
Apple and Linux users flaming Windows stories,
Linux and Windows flaming Apple stores,
Windows and Apple flaming Linux stories.
See,that's how that works here
and for more check out the browser stories, they are really fun to read...
YOU will not end the fanboyism here. - js281, on 03/04/2009, -9/+17"OS X makes it easier to find out about your computer"
Easier than what, exactly?
Apple Menu > About This Mac
My Computer > Properties - MacParrot, on 03/04/2009, -2/+10Right. Because there is nothing annoying, snooty, or elitist in what you said
- enantiodromia, on 03/04/2009, -1/+9MacOS rules, if you have a strong enough background in computers to appreciate it.
- MacParrot, on 03/04/2009, -1/+9Again, block the more annoying ones. They never add anything to any real discussion. MS haters are just as stupid and sound just as foolish as Mac haters
- enantiodromia, on 03/04/2009, -3/+10communist?
so the People all equally own Apple Computers? interesting.
also, you are totally wrong to think Mac owners are "computer retarded noobs". come to silicon valley some day, you will see a disproportionately large percentage of sysadmins and coders using Macbook Pros.
i guess that doesn't fit in with your false world view, so you will forget i said it in 2 seconds. -
