OS9 was junk (it was essentially still OS7 or 8, so duh!), no doubt about it.

- zunipus, on 02/19/2008, -0/+2I learned computing back in the dark ages of punch cards, terminals and ginormous servers. Then I graduated to DOS. It was great to get more immediate results, but it was as pleasant as water boarding. In 1984 I'd seen the first Mac at a friend's house, but I wasn't yet into graphics. Then in 1991 I sat down in front of one and took two weeks to get the hang of it. I never looked back. Since then I've played with every flavor of both Mac OS and Windows and I support both in the tech biz. But only Macs are allowed in my house. I have four, going back to my still terrific imaging work station Quadra 650 from 1993 with a PowerPC upgrade. I've heard every dopey anti-Mac myth under the sun, including a couple listed above.
All I can say is: Chris and friends, what took you so long? Welcome to a much saner world of computing. Macs are no way perfect. We're still in what I call The Stone Age Of Computing. But Macs are the best we've got, for now.
