- vrikis, on 07/16/2009, -2/+34Everyone should own Peggle.
- nastri83, on 07/16/2009, -0/+25Do people get paid to write like that? If so I need to change careers.
- MacParrot, on 07/15/2009, -4/+23Flight Control is one of those simple to use but near impossible to put down games that developers should be making more of. I've got the Wolfenstein game but the controls are near crap.
- R3publican, on 07/16/2009, -0/+9I love pegging.
- kinggimped, on 07/16/2009, -1/+10For me Flight Control is brilliant because of its simplicity. Easy to learn, very difficult to master. So it's great for new players - I've lost count of the amount of times friends have seen me playing it, sussed it immediately and asked if they can have a go when I'm finished.
The game is perfect for touch control, too. The game just wouldn't work if it was being controlled any other way.
I reckon the combination of these two things - simplicity and the controls - make it an awesome game. And the last few versions have introduced 2 new levels, more aircraft, a fast forward option, and multiplayer... so it continues to get better!
Seriously, go buy it (it's only 49p) and find out for yourself. If you really want to make your iPhone games better, it's kind of obvious that you should sample it first hand. - Fozfan33, on 07/16/2009, -1/+8toki tori
- W2Dastein, on 07/15/2009, -4/+11Rolando is a great game, but man it is it ever frustrating if you lack fine motor skills like I do.
- mromanuk, on 07/16/2009, -1/+6I'm a developer. Could you please explain a bit more what are the highlights about Flight Control? I believe that the adapting a game to the iPhone never fits really well (at least until it get buttons).
It's looks like the games developed for the iPhone are much better and I would like to achieve this in my games. - handheldchimp, on 07/16/2009, -1/+5Bury you? Ok, if you insist.
- brundlefly76, on 07/16/2009, -0/+4Yeah that is iPhones one drawback is that 3rd person shooter controls are simply aggravating.
I like using tilt games even less, as you really need to be sitting in a chair looking down to play it, and makes you look like a dork in public.
However there are games like Flight Control & Wurdle (NOT WOrdle) which make the touch interface more desirable than a traditional controller or KB/Mouse.
Personally I think StoneLoops of Jurassica is the best iPhone game right now. It has very high production quality from artwork, sound, music, performance, is designed perfectly for the iPhone and is addictive as hell. It also loads fast (well on my 3GS anyway) and is fun for 2 min or an hour or more, which is important for a mobile game.
Some of these $5+ major-publisher 3D FP ports which take as long to load as Windows on an iPhone 3G and have awkward & complicated touch and tilt controls are just square pegs in a round hole.
Fieldrunners, Tiger Woods Golf (a rare genuinely awesome major publisher port), and Bejeweled 2 are some other great iPhone games I have easily spent 20+ hours playing. - RegalBegal, on 07/16/2009, -0/+4There is no iPhone, only Peggle.
I don't own an iPhone, but I own Peggle on my cell phone, PC and my 360.....so goooooood. If Peggle wasn't mentioned I'd have buried this article. Word ta gawd. - Rekutyn, on 07/16/2009, -0/+4Buried for letting people check your iPhone.
- Jiuzton, on 07/16/2009, -0/+4i agree
- inactive, on 07/16/2009, -2/+6I play cubes every time a take a crap.
- kinggimped, on 07/16/2009, -3/+7Flight Control is fantastic, as is Peggle... the rest of the games there are pretty meh. Wolfenstein is nice for nostalgia purposes, but the controls make it pretty unplayable.
iDracula is also extremely good - it's a top-down survival shooter that uses a very tidy control system - definitely recommend that one.
Just in case there are any cricket fans on Digg - though I severely doubt it - grab Touch Cricket from the App store. Batting only, but in terms of fun and frustrating gameplay, it's about equal with Flight Control (which is so good that it should almost be a native app).
In my experience, the games with the best graphics usually end up being the least playable - certainly in terms of replay value. But maybe that's just my love of simple, 'quick-fix' games. Playing games on my iPod is probably about 5% of the use I get out of it. - TotalDouche, on 07/16/2009, -0/+4Uniwar FTW!
- handheldchimp, on 07/16/2009, -1/+4"...so you're not humiliated the next time somebody asks to check out your iPhone."
Let others use my JesusPhone...I think not. - MacParrot, on 07/16/2009, -1/+4Not a problem. I'm sure your mom will let you have a smartphone that does apps someday...maybe
- lex0429, on 07/16/2009, -1/+4Slugger is an awesome game
- Rhendal, on 07/16/2009, -0/+3I was going to bury this if Peggle wasn't on the list.
- TBBucs, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2Yes, but not much.
At all. - RyomaNagare, on 07/16/2009, -1/+3Ok this list is missing a few good ones, idracula for one real racing next. starhogs is a better worms than worms, blimp is awesome ibomber is pure crack and and dozens of other great games,
- krekc, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2Yeah Peggle is raptastic. Beat 21,553,67 Adventure high score!
- Cararan, on 07/16/2009, -1/+3Real Soccer 2009 needs to be on this list
- JollyGoodfellow, on 07/16/2009, -1/+3Why haven't they release Donkey Kong for the iPhone? I wanna shoot for the all-time high score while sitting on the throne.
- harpoongill, on 07/16/2009, -1/+3I don't have any of these and I'm racked with worry that if someone checks out my iPhone I'll be humiliated. Oh noes!
- speed8500, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2I don't know i like Cube Jumble. It is really hard at first but once I got into it - now I can't stop. It does the same kind of thing to me that tetris does. You know where you go to sleep and see falling blocks. I fell asleep the other night watching cubes rotate into place.
- Jiuzton, on 07/16/2009, -1/+3Fieldrunners, SimCity, Pocket God is not that good but its cool to have.
- jammyfred, on 07/16/2009, -2/+4Dizzy Bee 1&2 need moar love.Awesome games

FIX'D - PatrickX, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2I got bored with flight control after playing it two times :/
- Angostura, on 07/16/2009, -1/+3I'm a bit of a fan of Assassin's Creed. Don't expect the console game, but fun nonetheless. Try the free version first.
- dinot, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2have you ever played any of these games? if not, STFU and GBTW
- mass922, on 07/16/2009, -1/+2My friend designs Apps and has 3 new games he's developing... if you're looking for iPhone apps, check his out:

- mookie1510, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1My brother has offered to send me $5 to download this game, because he knows I don't pay for iPhone content.
- tamckissick, on 07/17/2009, -0/+1If you're interested, drop me an email (my lastname (9 chars) on Google's mail system) and we can discuss a simple game I wrote 14 years ago that's been waiting for a platform like the iPhone. It's learning curve is dictated by how agressive you want to play and how complex you configure it. Also, it has expansion capabilities that could include bluetoothing to a friend for a new level of fast paced competition.
- inactive, on 07/17/2009, -1/+2between my wife and I, got two DS's and 2 R4s.
We constantly play our iPhone games. - fr1234, on 07/17/2009, -1/+2Scramble FTW. And it's free
- digitalpencil, on 07/17/2009, -0/+1diggers don't get popups.. you're browsing it wrong.

http://digg.com/gaming_news/Top_5_Reasons_to_BUY_B ... - LOGNATR, on 07/18/2009, -0/+1Cry a little more Mr. Troll. My girlfriend and I will happily continue playing Mario Kart DS together while you sit alone in your mom's basement playing some game nobody's ever heard of on your overpriced cell phone.
- MacParrot, on 07/16/2009, -1/+2Forgot about iBomber. That is great game.
- Abydos, on 07/16/2009, -1/+2The only game on that list I have on my iTouch is at #1 (Peggle)
- nicollealexis, on 07/20/2009, -0/+1Don't forget about ShiveringKitten!! It's a great one too!
- eh270, on 07/21/2009, -0/+1I used to play FC a lot, but find Harbor Master more interesting.
- HomeSkillz, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1You could name some better ones... but I see you'd rather just hate.
- chadlewis76, on 07/16/2009, -1/+2Taxiball.
- LOGNATR, on 07/17/2009, -0/+1And I'm sure someday you'll want to play a decent game that isn't bland and has shoddy controls causing you to break down and buy an actual gaming device.
Sadly, as your name indicates, you'll continue to spout your yesman fanboy responses, while ignoring all the much better handheld games coming out for the DS and PSP. -
