- Ryosen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5#1 productivity booster: modifying your hosts file to resolve digg.com to 127.0.0.1
- katsanes, on 01/30/2008, -1/+5Quicksilver should be number 1.... through 5.
- mikev, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6My opinion it's a ***** list. If writing a list of ten apps and sentence about each is what it takes to get to the digg FP then I should get started.
- DanielNielsen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4This is a nice list, and they are right about QuickSilver, i have been using that app since i switched from pc, and its the best ***** app ever.
- kolywater, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4that would be #1 on the "how to reduce productivity" list, since the only time i boot into windows is to play a game.
- Battlecry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3To increase productivity, it would be better to UNINSTALL some applications.
Nothing will increase productivity like uninstalling your web browsers :) - meamog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I think I really just need to stop hitting up digg during work hours to improve my productivity...
- Powerdrift, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3For me, this list had a few new apps I've never heard of before. Although, I'll never use them.
- CedanticPunt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3#12 install virus removers, spyware removers, keylogger removers and spambot removers on Windows so you can be productive there
;) - kolywater, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i agree. how is mondo mouse so high up? you can just command click background windows to move them, resize them, etc. you don't need yet another helper app to do that.
not a great list. - themurph2099, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3It was a server problem. It's been fixed. Works fine now :)
- squirpy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2After using both for awhile, I definitely like LaunchBar more more than Quicksilver. Yeah Quicksilver is a little prettier, but LaunchBar runs faster and has better features. I've never used whatever note taking they mentioned so maybe I shouldn't talk......but Voodoo Pad is the *****.....
- isdereks, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Loaded just fine for me without JS enabled. Decent list. You can never have too many options for being "productive". Although, I must say that viewing these types of lists and experimenting with software is completely counterproductive.
- CreativeGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't mind that the apps aren't free. But it seems like it's the same apps on EVERY one of these lists.
- CedanticPunt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"you can just command click background windows to move them"
thanks, I just learned something new :) - jangelo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Most of my work is done on web browsers, so uninstalling my browsers would be unproductive :)
- imerlin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Maybe it's because I'm also a Linux user but I don't want to buy every program that's going to run on my computer. If it's a REALLY REALLY REALLY great application, then I might.
Therfore I find it lame when people post TOP 10 lists of applications that are not free to use. At least give it a descriptive description like 'Top 10 Shareware apps for your MAC'.
On my Mac I'm running aMSN (open source), Firefox (open source, i've donated), Open Office (open source), Parallels Desktop (yeah, i bought it!).
I'd love to have more cool stuff for my powerbook but I'm not going to buy it blindly (or even with a 30 day trial).
So posts like this just waste my time. And if you've read all of my nag, I've probably wasted yours :) - jangelo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"I must say that viewing these types of lists and experimenting with software is completely counterproductive."
Roger that. Sometimes tweaking with new stuff can take time. But if you hit that sweet spot and get to discover the app that's just right for you, then you an improve your workflow an be more productive. That's unless you become too dependent on your tools and can't live without them. - dig412, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3http://www.duggmirror.com/apple/10_Apps_to_Increase_Productivity_on_Your_Mac/
- MrPickles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Coincidentally, WebNoteHappy (#8 in the list) is on sale today via MacUpdate:

Looks like it's only valid until midnight EST so jump on it now. - atomicbird, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0kolywater: just try resizing a window that way when the resize handle at the lower-right corner of the window isn't visible. Or moving a window that way when the title bar is hidden behind another window. Can't be done-- except with MondoMouse.
- iNik, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Strange list of "productivity" apps. Clearing my desktop increases productivity? I guess this guy does a lot of presentations or demos or something... Mind mapping (in a confusing Java app, no less) doesn't really sing of "productivity" to me... Just a strange list. Some really lame software and a couple gems. Huh.
- CedanticPunt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1+1 even though I personally take the opposite point of view
- clackerd, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1^word up. quicksilver kicks spotlight's ass as a launcher. used to use launchbar, but quicksilver has a better interface in my experience. i've tried butler too, but keep coming back to QS. besides, how can you deny the coolness of its startup graphic??!
- etx313, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Yeah, Install Windows. I'm way more productive on windows than I am on OSX. Not sure why, XP just feels faster to me.
- lamestory, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4#11: Parallels or Boocamp running Windows XP so you can actually get some work done
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1#1...Parallels so you can run Windows and really be productive.
- JeremyBanks, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2The page keeps redirecting me or *****. I had to disable Javascript to view it.

My favorite app left off is http://www.xheadsoftware.com/info_xhead.asp Info.xhead which allows you to store passwords, serial #'s, credit card info, etc. blowfish encrypted. You can create whatever categories you want. I use this pretty much every day. Check it out. - OnymousHero, on 10/12/2007, -7/+11-10: Wipe hard drive and install Windows XP
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+0Yea the site doesnt work for me either.. Someone needs to check this stuff before they just post it.
