- tyrannicdark, on 08/29/2008, -0/+2It was a fantastic speech, truly history in the making. Obama FTW
- ganymede2010, on 08/29/2008, -0/+1This story isn't possible in any other country on Earth. That's why I'm proud to be an American. Thank you Mr. Obama for an electrifying and spellbinding speech.
- oldgal, on 08/29/2008, -0/+1I never thought I would see this in my lifetime. As much as I love this country, I never thought its petty prejudices would allow a person of mixed heritage (although most of us are, it just doesn't show), no matter how qualified, to stand where Barack Obama stood tonight. Just by getting to this place Obama has exhibited exceptional leadership. I was relieved to see someone finally attack head-on the policies that have had me depressed about the future of this country for the past several years - it is not fun to hit the golden years and feel that you are leaving a country in much worse shape than when you graduated. I don't know if he (or we) will be able to accomplish all the goals that he has put in front of us, but I do know that if you don't know where you're going you never get there. The brilliant execution of his campaign leads me to believe that as president he will choose exceptional people, provide coherent vision, and incorporate new ideas and new technologies to restore competency to our government, restore our world leadership position, and take the country to a better place for all Americans.
