cnbc.com — Asian shares fell broadly Wednesday, with markets in Tokyo, Seoul and Sydney all lower after another gloomy session on Wall Street that saw the Dow Jones industrial average notch its biggest five-day points fall ever.

- 1776, on 10/08/2008, -1/+4You know, I appreciate the urgency and fear embodied in news regarding the financial markets.. but does anybody truly believe this is 'the end' and not just the beginning?
It is going to get much worse before it gets better, and it seems all of our news agencies are speaking in 'final' apocalyptic terms. The reason I believe this is a problem is because if we do engage in solutions (e.g. lame bailout/rescue measures stuffed with pork) and they fail, we're going to sink even further and exacerbate the decline of our financial markets.- rpi22, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3i hope people wake up and realize the need to take interest in these issues and not trust them to corrupt government officials with numerous conflicting interests.
