West Virginia SMACKDOWN
msnbc.msn.com — Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton coasted to a large victory in West Virginia on Tuesday, handing Barack (NMN) Obama one of his worst defeats of the campaign yet and further revealing a fatal demographic weakness in his potential general election bid. "The White House is won in the swing states. And I am winning the swing states," Clinton said.

Also, they keep on refering to historical trends when everybody has at least agreed that this primary by itself is historical, and that such a scenario never happened before. Obama has defied all odds so far, and he will again in the general election. Nobody can expect him or either of the candidates to appeal to everybody! Clinton's strong supporters will probably remain Clinton's supporters, and everybody will respect them for that, as long as it doesn't prevent them from voting for the democrat candidate in the general election, even if she is not on the ticket. It is not everything to be winner, you also have to know how not to be a sore loser when a greater cause is at stake.
- RX9735, on 05/14/2008, -1/+2sore loser? You mean like you blowing off the fact she won by a landslide? Obama is just not the right person to be president. When people have to be disenfranchised in order for Obama to win, somewthing is messed up.
- OlivierNO, on 05/14/2008, -0/+2She did win big in WV....and that's it. How come you don't recognize that she is losing the nomination right now? "Obama is just not the right person to be president" blam...statement. It is exactly like Clinton saying "I'm the strongest candidate"... Because?... you win more white votes? you're a Clinton? you thought you were the inevitable nominee?.... because you want it! you want it! you want it! and you gotta have it! Sorry if it's not exactly the way democracy work. BTW, you also realize that even with MI and FL she's still behind?

- azpat, on 05/14/2008, -3/+4Clinton Wins West Virginia; Nothing changes.
- RX9735, on 05/14/2008, -1/+1Something has changed, Clinton kicked the ***** out of Obama.
- diggeradoo, on 05/14/2008, -1/+5Hillary Claims "I am winning the swing states". Except for Iowa, Missouri, Virginia, North Carolina - which Obama won. But who's counting real numbers here?
And how does WV represent the rest of this country?
95% White (one of the whitest)
40% Over age 60 (one of the oldest)
70% without a college degree (one of the least educated)
20% of voters said that race was important, (one of the ?)
50% said that Obama *holds* the *same( views as Wright. (one of the ?)
Hillary nets 150,000 in popular vote (not the 200,000 they were hoping for) and nets 10 delegates (still 150 or so behind Obama) and still losing superdelegates daily.
She's done. Face it.- RX9735, on 05/14/2008, -1/+1She is not done, face it.
- RX9735, on 05/14/2008, -1/+2Obama might make a good president if he will be Clinton's VP. After eight years as VP he might make a good president.
