Three More Pennsylvania Newspapers For Obama
my.barackobama.com — Three Pennsylvania newspapers formally endorsed Barack Obama — the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Bucks County Courier-Times and the Patriot News. All three editorial boards cited Barack's unique ability to bring people back into the political process and move the country forward.

- aliengoods, on 04/17/2008, -10/+11I don't know how much this will help him. The people who still read newspapers are older, and are pretty firmly in the Hillary camp. Having said that it's still good news.
- TheWorm, on 04/17/2008, -2/+10Better for it to reach people less likely to vote for him, than preaching to the choir.
- papipablo, on 04/17/2008, -1/+5Ha ha. Your medium is dying!
- x2wenty4x, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3Their online editions are read by the younger people so most end up seeing it. However I don't think newspaper endorsements really sway voters anyway.
- davidlow, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1All the younger people are reading it right now on this Digg page.
- davidlow, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Can anyone say if these three papers are considered "liberal"? It would be interesting to know the breakdown by ideology.
- vikingkory, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1I'm from bucks county and I also read it. I'm 20 and voting for Obama.

Yay news papers, to bad no one reads them anymore because we get are info from internet... but Yay anyway.. Woohoo..- zephyear, on 04/17/2008, -3/+3old people read them
and that's the demographic we're trying to take from hillary - schnikies79, on 04/17/2008, -1/+2Not everyone lives in a major metro area. My hometown newspaper is running record readership and they have a web (limited) presence.
When you live in a large county that only has 32k people, you have very very limited news sources.
- zephyear, on 04/17/2008, -3/+3old people read them
- ShemDaimwood, on 04/17/2008, -4/+5I'm a supporter, but the Obama campaign really needs to keep expectations down for Penn. Losing the expectations game is what spun marginal losses in (Clinton-leaning) states like New Hampshire, California, and Massachusetts into "huge" Clinton wins (despite Obama's impressive gains in those states).
- mcnasby, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2Last weekend the Bucks County Courier Times ran a front page story about Obama being worried about winning the PA Primary. That story was an incredibly smart move on his campaign's part. More stuff stories like that, more casual supporters might be apt to go to the polls on April 22.
- mercy666, on 04/17/2008, -8/+1I am for Obama, but remeber the majority of Texas newspapers endorsed him and he still lost.
- papipablo, on 04/17/2008, -1/+7He still won the most Texas delegates.
- kungfuboi, on 04/17/2008, -1/+6he won texas
- schnikies79, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1but still lost the popular vote
- qwerter, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3Maybe, if you're counting Dittoheads.
- mercy666, on 04/17/2008, -1/+0he won the delegate count b/c of democratic rules (which are the reason its dragged out for soooooo long), but lost the popular vote. I think the latter holds more clout.
- qwerter, on 04/17/2008, -1/+3Normally, I'd agree, but after all the fuss with Limbaugh, and Republicans voting for Hillary to throw the vote, I question that clout. In fact, I think the caucus numbers may be more reliable...Republicans could easily put in a vote at the primary, but how many could stomach a lengthy caucus?
- schnikies79, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1but still lost the popular vote
- schnikies79, on 04/17/2008, -7/+26Sigh. Obama supporter here.
More news sources who shouldn't endorse ANYONE for ANY REASON. Stick to the news, let me make the decision.
Yes, I know, it's the editors. Well the editors should speak for themselves and not through the NEWSpaper.- CygnusX1, on 04/17/2008, -2/+8Here Here! I'm shocked to see this getting so many diggs by the same people who digg other articles about injustice and "faux news". Journalism is meant to report on the facts. I don't' care (or I guess I'm not supposed to care) about who they support. We should be afraid of media supporting anyone or anything.
- sobriquet, on 04/17/2008, -2/+2Absolutely agreed. For any staff to use the paper itself as a venue for their endorsement is shameful. This wouldn't have been tolerated 20/30/40 years ago.
- scottc, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1Uh, no, it's a tradition that goes back and has been accepted for much longer than 40 years.
- cerealman, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Uh, no. When the article posted by the newspaper says "So-and-so newspaper supports Obama," well, what do you think that means?
- dan.stryker, on 04/17/2008, -11/+2He will not win PA.
- Drogoganor, on 04/17/2008, -4/+5Another Crystal Ball Republican

- moolaismyfriend, on 04/17/2008, -3/+11You know I think a good gauge of a persons education, and emotional level, is whether or not they constantly refer to Barack Obama as "Barack Hussein Obama"
- papipablo, on 04/17/2008, -2/+4Or use the phrase "black nationalism" or "radical Islam."
- Tikisam, on 04/17/2008, -7/+2you know I think a good gauge of a persons education and emotional level is whether or not they'd ever consider voting for Obama
vote 'Nobody '08'- moolaismyfriend, on 04/17/2008, -3/+2Actually its a gauge for American society. Obama was far down my list. But he is number one now because he is the best of the 3 three faux leaders of the people.
- sexypeon, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2Really? I think Obama wants what's best for America at heart.
- moolaismyfriend, on 04/17/2008, -3/+2Actually its a gauge for American society. Obama was far down my list. But he is number one now because he is the best of the 3 three faux leaders of the people.
- newmanator77, on 04/17/2008, -5/+13I'm a McCain supporter but I agree that Obama does have an amazing talent for bringing people together and getting them to believe in him. Personally I prefer McCain's policies, but I will be happy to see either of them win.
- PeteLP, on 04/17/2008, -0/+8I'm an Obama supporter and I dugg you up. We completely disagree on policy, but I'm very happy to hear the good will you've expressed. How often do we get kind thoughts from those who disagree with us. Cheers
- PintOfGuinness, on 04/17/2008, -4/+3Its his we stay in Iraq for 100 years if we have to and his we are going to have more wars policy that did it for me! That and his support for water torture, what a guy!
- ulsterwrod, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1the 100 years comment is not true. How long has our military been in Europe? There are reasons for them being there.
- stjosh, on 04/17/2008, -13/+7Oh look. The fiftieth article I've come to the Digg front page and found trying desperately to spin his Pennsylvania comments in a positive manner and make it look like he's destined to win PA.
Come on, people, get a grip. Yes, we get the point, you like Obama, but please don't make us hear your bias every time we come here.
http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Biased_Digg_trie ...- Drogoganor, on 04/17/2008, -2/+3Yes I'm sicking of hearing Republican bias too.
- papipablo, on 04/17/2008, -2/+5Here's an idea, don't click on the link. Or better yet, use your filter. Then you can exclusively read about Wii games and iPhones and leave the grown ups alone.
- stjosh, on 04/17/2008, -4/+1Oh very mature response. Bravo.
"Hey, you Chinese guys who are tired of the propaganda, go play with your toys and let us 'grown ups' talk. Nobody cares about your opinions on fairness."- papipablo, on 04/17/2008, -1/+4Fairness? Man you need to find a real issue to concern yourself with.
- schnikies79, on 04/17/2008, -0/+5Digg has probably one of the worst children (mentally) to adult ratios on the internet.
Don't assume there is even a small majority of "adults" here.- reuscel, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1And in that sense, it is perhaps a very accurate barometer of the American electorate. Remember, these are the people who voted for Bush because they were afraid of boys kissing.
- stjosh, on 04/17/2008, -4/+1Oh very mature response. Bravo.
- willk281, on 04/17/2008, -5/+7Digg needs an Obama section :/
- stjosh, on 04/17/2008, -2/+0Indeed. What's this? The eightieth article this week telling us why we should love, adore, support, and vote for Obama because he can do no wrong and even when he does misspeak he's actually somehow making true and astute comments that aren't as bigoted as they sound?
- jontalisman, on 04/17/2008, -11/+6More Obama spam. Yawn...
- obelisky, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1ah, was ok when it was ron paul spam... before, ya know, he crashed and burned
- itsfullofstars, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1You are such a baby. Stop reading the Obama articles then you jackass.
- Tikisam, on 04/17/2008, -11/+8buried for Obama
- bond1963, on 04/17/2008, -7/+2If I had the energy I'd research and see if there was some sort of "team" effort of pro Obama supporters on Digg. I mean I like the guy and all but it's over the top pro Obama here. Does he have 500 guys in the back room with multiple digg accounts each making up stuff and then digging them up?
- dan.stryker, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1I wouldn't doubt your theory... but on the other hand digg doesn't matter since it only effects a very small % of the voters... mainly SF area...
If it did have influence, the 2 candidates we would be talking about then would be Ron Paul and Dennis K. Did either one of those 2 guys crack 2% of the vote?- bond1963, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Point well taken.... Just wanting to read a bit less Obama AND Clinton stuff on digg. It's so prevalent that it really makes you wonder..... and it wouldn't be the first time manipulation has been tried here like you said. I have been browsing digg for a long time and this finally brought me out of my shell and started commenting.
- dan.stryker, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1I agree with you. I have browsing digg a long time without commenting as well and I just wish it stayed a tech site instead of all this political bs that makes the front page now...

- mcnasby, on 04/17/2008, -1/+3Did it ever occur to you that a large group of people might have the same genuine liking for someone?
- dan.stryker, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1Yes that is possible, but it seems (to me) that a majority of the people here are just sheep and are following the crowd just to fit in...
- bond1963, on 04/17/2008, -0/+0Yep. It occur ed to me. I like the guy too but my point is that it's getting so pervasive on this site that I'm beginning to wonder if there is a concerted effort to digg stuff up. I think at least that there may be a igniter group starting things and, like dan.stryker said, the rest are following along. Just consider for an instant if Billary hired a group of people, say 50 or so, for a month or two. There main job was to manipulate sites like this by creating news stories or highlighting news stories that put Obama in a bad light. Could they do it? You bet! Fifty people with 10 accounts each that's 500 diggs. And there would then be your normal digg user that just happened to be pro Billary and they would latch on to it like people latch on the pro Obama stuff. I'm just pointing out that it could be done. I'm not saying it is being done.
- dan.stryker, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1Yes that is possible, but it seems (to me) that a majority of the people here are just sheep and are following the crowd just to fit in...

- scairborn, on 04/17/2008, -3/+3Holy *****! The Patriot-News endorsement is huge! The Harrisburg area (my hometown) is an extremely Pro Hill-dawg area. Barack may get a boost that really counts from this endorsement.
- mrzack, on 04/17/2008, -4/+1Why won't O'bama talk about the coming financial disaster headed toward America? Other Black leaders / professors are: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebsrus75SyI
- dued007, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1I did not see the link
but what has race got to do with it?
Race and financial concern for the economy don't go hand in hand
- dued007, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1I did not see the link
- NumNutz, on 04/17/2008, -1/+3hillary got all the pennsylvania mayors endorsements, so its nice to see obama get a newspaper endorsement to even it out.
- Vileputrid, on 04/17/2008, -3/+1Gee I guess that means all of their readers are going to vote for him now rite? This is pointless.
- shutter54, on 04/17/2008, -1/+4Isnt it the newspaper's job to REPORT the news, not MAKE it? Who cares who they endorse.
- FashionLad, on 04/17/2008, -1/+3Those news papers are pulling a FAUX News move. It's not their job to support one candidat over the other; it's their job to report the news and let me make the call. I can make my own decisions when I have the information to do so.
- DavidGX, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1I can digg it.
- KKKRobertByrd, on 04/17/2008, -6/+0Obama who? Ha! That big eared chimp is gonna have the nomination stolen right out from under him by Hillary. Just as he deserves.
- RedPhalanx, on 04/17/2008, -3/+1If it wasn't official before, it is now. Obama is a bigger "fad" candidate than Ron Paul ever was. Don't be surprised when he flip-flops and starts supporting the Iraq War again (post-election, of course).
- mcnasby, on 04/17/2008, -1/+3Is it just me - or does anyone else find media outlet endorsing candidates strange? Isn't journalism *supposed to* be free of bias?
- Carramrod72, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Apparently not....Whats stranger is the one digg your comment has.
- jbenson2, on 04/17/2008, -3/+1vs.the 100 Pennsylvania mayors who have come out for Clinton
Besides, who reads newspapers? and more importantly who cares what newspapers think anymore?- ZebZ, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1You mean the 18 that actually came through for her?
- brownrecluse888, on 04/17/2008, -6/+1Sweet, another ten stories today about how Obama is the second coming...I agree with the poster above, we need an Obama section so I can block it!! Oh wait, the entire digg site has become an Obama only site.....
This is the GREATEST post ever on this subject: http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Biased_Digg_trie ...
Its funny how the DiggObamaSpamBots constantly blast Fox news for their biased stories....uh...sound familiar Obama supporters? You'll post fifty stories a week about how a Pennsylvania tree pruning company endorsed Obama but if Jesus or Ghandi came back and endorsed Clinton it wouldnt make it to the front page.
Are you all eleven years old? Many of us lived thru the Clinton presidentcy and take great offense to your constant Bill bashing....what was it, the 8 years of peace, or the 8 years of prosperity and job growth and environmental protection that you didnt like about Clinton's term? Was it the 250,000 jobs that were creating on average each month? What it the fact that he inherited a MASSIVE deficit from Bush Senior that he quickly turned into a balanced budget and then a surplus? Or was it the fact that under Clinton the poverty rate dropped to its lowest level in 30 years? The list goes on and on.
Oh yeah, I forgot, he borked an intern.....but didnt Kennedy do that with a dozen or more women? Well, true, Kennedy was at least fornicating with hotties like Marylyn Monroe but still.
So for a few minutes tonight quit rolling your joints on your Ron Paul cardboard yard signs long enough to see the big picture. We need, desperately need a democrat in the white house. What's funny is that you NEVER EVER post any differences in Obama or Clintons actual politics or plans, because essentially there aren't any!! You just post personal attack after personal attack on Clinton. Have you not watched any of the debates? They basically agree on everything, there are very minor subtle nuances that are different, but essentially they have the same agenda. By constant Clinton bashing your falling right into the plans of the Karl Roves....they plan on winning the general election by dividing the Democratic party, and from what I've seen on digg the past few months I'd say this: "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED"- Drogoganor, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2Get over yourself.
You know what I hate more than the Obama spam? Demagogic right wing nutcases with their ***** phrases like "DiggObamaSpamBots" "Obamassiah" etc etc.
You guys aren't original when you point out that he's popular at the moment. You just come off as an *****.- brownrecluse888, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1I'm actually voting for Obama ***** ass, so ***** you. I'm just sick of this non stop pro obama anti clinton ***** every 3 seconds on digg and other far far far left wing sites. I'm a democrat and don't want to loose this election again...and guess what? We are probably going to loose because of you don't seem to understand that without bringing on board just about every single Clinton supporter that Obama has no chance of beating McCain. DON'T YOU GET THAT??
- cowsonfire, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1I didn't realize that Digg and far left websites decide national elections, thanks for the heads up.
- clackerd, on 04/17/2008, -0/+0i'm a republican voting for obama and who will not vote for clinton, and i think there are more than a few of us thinking the same thing. as long as you hillary-loving democrats don't ***** it up, you shouldn't have to worry a thing about mccain come november.
- brownrecluse888, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1I'm actually voting for Obama ***** ass, so ***** you. I'm just sick of this non stop pro obama anti clinton ***** every 3 seconds on digg and other far far far left wing sites. I'm a democrat and don't want to loose this election again...and guess what? DON'T YOU GET THAT??
- kescape, on 04/17/2008, -0/+0They agree on the same things do not mean they are both capable of successfully execute the plans. Just by looking at how they run the campaigns, I feel Obama is a more capable person. And besides, it is Hillary nominating, not Bill. You keep on using "Clintons" and how good that 8 years were. Are you saying that you want Hillary to win because her husband can run the WH?
- Drogoganor, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2Get over yourself.
- jhkilroy, on 04/17/2008, -7/+1OBAMA IS A DOUCHEBAG ! ***** HIM ! AND ***** HIS RACIST CHURCH
- Chunken, on 04/17/2008, -3/+2At least they tell us they endorse him so we know straight up that we can't trust anything they say about the election.
- ahhell, on 04/17/2008, -2/+5I thought newspapers are supposed to be unbiased.
- obelisky, on 04/17/2008, -1/+2if the title of this had been 'three papers for ron paul' most of the comments saying 'who cares what papers think, blah blah' would be 'FINALLY THE SHEEPLE GET IT'
- gslam20, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1The Philadelphia Daily News also just endorsed Obama today...
- sdbyrd, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1is anyone else tired of the Clinton/Obama smearing yet?
- coustoe, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1Anyone tired of this obama spam, worse then ron paul spam
***** obama spammers get a life - TnTBass, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1Anyone else have a problem with "news" sources endorsing anyone?
I mean, sure, it's great when propaganda works your way, but its still propaganda. - AvangionQ, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2"In this morning's editions, three Pennsylvania newspapers formally endorsed Barack Obama -- the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Bucks County Courier-Times and the Patriot News. All three editorial boards cited Barack's unique ability to bring people back into the political process and move the country forward." ... now to wait and see if this helps Barack Obama take Pennsylvania -- perhaps bring the race for Democratic candidate to its inevitable conclusion ...
