The Intolerant States of America
citizenorange.com — "I understand [Obama's] from Africa, and that the first thing he's going to do if he gets into office is bring his family over here, illegally. He's got that racist [pastor] who practically raised him, and then there's the Muslim thing. He's just not presidential material, if you ask me."

Well, to be fair, actual lynchings have decreased.

- LMVT, on 07/02/2008, -1/+5Kyle, awesome blog!
A quick anecdote for you....my best friend who moved to Ohio from NY about a year and a half ago was talking to me about the primary back when. I have been a huge Obama supporter so we were on the subject of talking about him. My BF said to me "I mean what does it matter if he's a Muslim or not....let him swear on the Q'aran." My BF is an engineer with a high intelligence level to say the least. I asked him why he thouhgt Barack was Muslim and he said it was all over the news. I had to explain to him it was just a rumor. In his case, he didn't care what religion he was as long as he did a good job as president. For the next 45 minutes he had to hear about how ridiculous I thougt it was that someone being Muslim was seen as a smear tactic....shame on us.
One question along these lines though....since so many of the people who think like this believe they know everything about our constitution, how would they expect Barack to be president if he was born in Africa? Did they conveniently forget that one of the requirements to be president is to be born in the US?
I love how people know everything about everything and nothing about nothing all at the same time!- kyledeb, on 07/02/2008, -1/+3Thanks for the anecdote, and it's good to know that you're boyfriend didn't fall for this smear tactic. Regarding Africa, interestingly enough John McCain was born in Panama. Makes you think huh>

Yes, since when is it a bad thing to be from Africa or to be Muslim? It's scary what people will believe so easily. - inderasakti, on 07/02/2008, -2/+0For me Obama is just a human being.I 'm not really know where he is from and what is his religion.Muslim is not hipocrate and not tolerance with terrorist. But people misuses and misunderstanding the true about religious.
