Spinning? Fine. Spinning AND Lying? Not Cool.
huffingtonpost.com — Now, Clinton is doing something fairly new: spinning AND lying - all at the same time.

"What's not fine is the dishonest basis of the storyline. Clinton has been ahead in Indiana from the beginning - and in, fact, has been ahead in the majority of Democratic primary polls done in the Hoosier state."- LadyDoor, on 05/05/2008, -3/+5it would true if by "ahead" she meant "behind"...
- LadyDoor, on 05/05/2008, -0/+6sorry - this reply doesnt make any sense - i am sorry...
- actorboy, on 05/05/2008, -0/+5Was she ahead by much, though? Because she certainly has a huge behind.
- shrapnel09, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Bill was the one getting (a)head!
- Dodobutt222, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1More like.... Hi Larry!
- LadyDoor, on 05/05/2008, -3/+5it would true if by "ahead" she meant "behind"...
- msjentay, on 05/05/2008, -5/+27She sounds more and more like Bush every day. Lying in the face of obvious, verifiable truths like "we really thought there were WMD's in Iraq" and "of course they are and have always been the head of al quaeda operations." Except from Clinton it'll be " you thought you only saved $28 with my gas tax holiday but TRUST ME you saved much, much more... " or "I know that you think we bombed Iran but that was just a 4th of July fireworks celebration... TRUST ME..."
- DEIx15x8, on 05/05/2008, -11/+2Or "god damn america". Sorry, wrong candidate's beliefs.
- youareretarded, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Which candidate said that again?
Oh that's right!
- youareretarded, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Which candidate said that again?
- Azulita360, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I know...she would be Bush's third term.
- DEIx15x8, on 05/05/2008, -11/+2Or "god damn america". Sorry, wrong candidate's beliefs.
- BabushkaBlue, on 05/05/2008, -5/+23The facts in this piece have alarmed me. Is she a pathological liar? Does she believe what she's saying because lying (for her) is as easy as breathing, or is this just a gigantic political game meant to manipulate our expectations? Either answer, and I must believe it's one or the other, leads me to think she'd be a dangerous president.
- Azulita360, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I disagree, it really only seems like she is lying when her lips start moving. Oh yeah...when it's a whopper, her eyes get real big and she cackles afterwards.
- Alix7, on 05/05/2008, -4/+20I'm surprised by all this Wright ***** yet people barely gave Clinton any heat over the fact that she COMPLETELY lied about the sniper fire in Bosnia.
- Azulita360, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2Yes...lied about Bosnia, about the factory in Indiana...Magnequench, about receiving money from Peter Paul, about her husband getting money from Columbia, and about Nafta. AND there is so much more.
- NoStoppingUs, on 05/05/2008, -12/+2How can team obomba not beat this bitch to a pulp? Clinton has more baggage than LAX and Heathrow combined! What incompetence on the part of the obomba campaign and supporters. Sigh.
- WasabiBomb, on 05/05/2008, -2/+3"Obomba"? I can't figure out what the hell you're trying to say with that. Or are you just so stupid that you can't remember the proper spelling?
- qwerter, on 05/06/2008, -2/+5The fact that he's doing this well WITHOUT resorting to her tactics is a testament to his strength.
- Beatmiser, on 05/05/2008, -3/+7What disgusts me above and beyond her lies and her 'spinning' is that it's working.
- heucuva, on 05/06/2008, -0/+0Anyone who spins can do me a favor and sit while they are doing it.
- OneLess, on 05/05/2008, -8/+6Is it possible to somehow put a personal filter on front page stories? I'm as big an election aficionado as anyone, but I'm kind of getting fed up with every other story being about Clinton and Obama...I hope to God this doesn't drag out until the convention...
- Laughsatyou, on 05/06/2008, -1/+4I'm tired of every story being crap from huffington post.
- waggdogg, on 05/06/2008, -1/+2I totally agree! The front page is becoming a campaign page for Obama and take a blow at Clinton page.
- sremick, on 05/06/2008, -1/+1So go uncheck the "US Elections 2008" topic in your settings and stop complaining, geez. It's not like Digg hasn't handed you on a silver platter the exact and simple means to get what you want.
- OneLess, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1Ah, I hadn't seen that before. Thanks for your friendly and unassuming answer to my question.
- snotrokit, on 05/05/2008, -3/+4wow. she is talented. Ready on day one indeed, she has already mastered the art of spinning/lying/distorting the truth/chrry picking statistics to make the public believe whatever she wants them too.
- muffinmonk, on 05/05/2008, -0/+3And if you don't vote for her, she comes into your room at night, sits down on a chair, and stares at you while you try to sleep.
- Dbeneath, on 05/05/2008, -6/+8I am a big Obama supporter and I pretty much ***** hate hillary clinton, but why don't diggers just check huffpost rather than submitting every single story to digg? it's kind of ***** obnoxious.
- defska42, on 05/06/2008, -2/+1I subscribed to the HuffPost feed once, and do you know how many articles they put on that thing a day? Digg acts as a huge filter for articles from that page.
- muffinmonk, on 05/05/2008, -3/+9Yeah, this is very obnoxious, it disturbs me to see 2-3 Hillary posts on the front page every few hours.
- innocentsinner, on 05/05/2008, -0/+2Spinners? Fiiiiine.
- Kohaxx, on 05/05/2008, -3/+2What does it matter, she can't win. No matter what the media says, no matter what she says, Obama would have to willingly concede for her to win. By the time this is over every piece of dirt able to be flung at him will have been flung and he'll be standing there brushing his shoulders off staring at McCain. I wouldn't let Hillary's nonsense get to you, it's just impossible for her to pull it off without an extreme event happening.
- Plantagenet, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Don't be silly. All it takes for Hillary to win is for the several hundred remaining unelected SUPERDELEGATES to select her instead of Obama.
- Matt777, on 05/05/2008, -6/+6Fine, we get it -- Hillary is Satan. Now stop flooding Digg with this crap!
- Azulita360, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I think if the the media was fair I would not be doing this...I really do have a life...I'm just really angry right now.
- iheartboobs, on 05/05/2008, -3/+3Hillary is a liberal version of Bush. And like Bush she will try to micromanage the entire administration to make sure they follow her ideology. If any of her idealogical policies start to fail she'll blame it all on the closest underling like Bush does. Plausible deniability is a power presidential tool.
- scamper22, on 05/06/2008, -1/+1as opposed to what? I suppose obama does not have ideology?
- iheartboobs, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1as opposed to not lying to the American people
- scamper22, on 05/06/2008, -1/+1as opposed to what? I suppose obama does not have ideology?
- chrissku, on 05/05/2008, -0/+10I bet the word "digg" makes Hillary cringe.
- DEIx15x8, on 05/05/2008, -9/+5There must be another vote tomorrow because the Obama Huff spam has been cranked up today. If he is really a good candidate why do you need to create so much anti hillary spam to make sure he wins? If he is really good then all this negative campaigning shouldn't be necessary. Obama is just destroying this party. You people can deny that he is using negative campaigning but you people are the ones doing it on his behalf.
- defska42, on 05/06/2008, -2/+31. I am voting for Obama, not digg users who vote on articles, Obama can't control that
2. Pointing out that Clinton is lying wouldn't be considered negative campaigning anyways, it would be considered pointing out negative campaigning- DEIx15x8, on 05/06/2008, -4/+2Revering Wright hates America and Obama has spent 20 years listening to that hate speaking man without saying anything. Is that the kind of man we want running "god damn america"?
That's not negative campaigning, it's just pointing out negatives of Obama. Digg it up.- defska42, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1Until you watch the entire sermons, you have no place speaking on the subject. Wright was right, in general. He might have been wrong in his delivery of his message, perhaps even divisive; and he might be having a difficult time letting go of the past, but his underlying message was generally fair.
This isn't even mentioning Clinton's ties to Wright, and McCains ties to MUCH worse political figures. Obama doesn't negative campaign to the point of throwing that out there. That's why we all talk about Wright and not that other stuff.

- RepubOperative, on 05/06/2008, -4/+4Obama sucks! Go McCain!
If Baracka Obama disagreed with what Rev. Jeremiah Wright was saying then why did Baracka Obama "a typical black person" give $27,500 to the church ($22,500 in 2006 and $5,000 in 2005) to Africanzied Trinty United Church run by a man of the past, the black supremacist, conspiracy theorist and racist who infects the younger generation with racial prejudice and animus and then say he came unto us to transcend racism? Sounds like Baracka Obama got caught in another big lie. Maybe you haven't heard everything that Wright said:

- ProjectGSX, on 05/06/2008, -2/+2If she would stop saying so many absurdly stupid things there wouldnt be so many posts.
- opps12, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2Go see the one poll she was ahead http://www.howeypolitics.com/2008/02/26/howey-gaug ... and you can see that the poll SPECIFICALLY asked to speak to the youngest male in the home where the poll was conducted. No wonder it showed Obama ahead, so no...she has never truly been behind...this is blatant lie.
- ProjectGSX, on 05/06/2008, -2/+6This just in: Clinton is a liar. In other breaking news, water is wet.
- winnestow, on 05/06/2008, -8/+9welcome to digg - where we support the marxist candidate
- jabberwolf, on 05/06/2008, -2/+1Yes we are trying to elect a president that is part of the catholic "liberation" movement -
And so were the Sandinistas !

- 13373h4X0r, on 05/06/2008, -3/+5To those complaining about all of the Clinton stories today: There are two major primary elections tomorrow, and, evidently, a large number of Diggers continue to vote with their Diggs to try their best to continue to broadcast the message that Obama would make a better president of the U.S.A. than Hillary Clinton or McCain. Evidently a large number of fellow Diggers feel that this message cannot relent until Obama is president.
INDIANA VOTERS -- You can END this primary season and help the party focus on beating McCain in November by voting for Obama tomorrow. Otherwise, all of the nastiness and damage will continue all the way to the convention. Obama has the nomination at this point. You might prefer Hillary over Obama for various reasons, but if your reason is of the sort "it's about time we had a female president" or "I just don't think Obama will win against McCain", then I urge you to reconsider those ideas and help end this primary.
Indiana, please think of the big picture when you vote tomorrow. Obama can change the way our government relates to the citizens of our country, and he can change the political tone that our country projects when interacting with the other nations of the world. Clinton will not have that same enlightened attitude if she becomes president; simply consider her most recent comments about "obliterating Iran" if they launched a nuclear missile at Israel -- sure, our country would attack Iran in defense of Israel in that extremely unlikely scenario, but the language "obliterate Iran" is not the kind of language a president should use in any context.
In any case, I am one of the many Diggers who want the Obama/Clinton/McCain stories to continue to be on the front page of Digg with a frequency that reflects the importance of what is happening each day. Unfortunately, Clinton and McCain have the potential to affect our daily lives in a way that is more profound than most other stories that appear on Digg these days, and by keeping people informed through this site we can prepare for a better government and create an environment that makes our country better, and gives U.S. citizens a better chance at focusing on technology rather than dealing with an endless stream of government corruption and corporate scandals.- jabberwolf, on 05/06/2008, -3/+2"In any case, I am one of the many Diggers who want the Obama/Clinton/McCain stories to continue to be on the front page of Digg with a frequency that reflects the importance of what is happening each day."
YOU ARE ONE OF THE RETARDED!
I swear, it is more important for people like you (who have some sort of guilt trip about being irrelevent in helping this nation and/or world) that insist on being correct and forget about being RIGHT!
These Huffington posts have almost always stated half the facts (IF ANY FACTS) and have been non-news stories because they are horribly inaccurate arguments. I understand your concern, but when endorsing propaganda and lies over facts, your true intentions are only to justify your OWN OPINION! And that's what it comes down to, you're so scared of being wrong, that anything you can find (regardless of integrity) you wish to post.
You are the ones that this country should be embarrassed of. We are intelligent and do not cater to your sheepish persuasion. If only we could take Sergent Friday's words to live by " JUST THE FACTS MAM" !!
- jabberwolf, on 05/06/2008, -3/+2"In any case, I am one of the many Diggers who want the Obama/Clinton/McCain stories to continue to be on the front page of Digg with a frequency that reflects the importance of what is happening each day."
- Black6x, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1I fail to see how this is a change from what she was previously doing (e.g. NAFTA support, Snipers, guns, etc.)
- DucoNihilum, on 05/06/2008, -1/+6Is every post on Digg Pro Obama, Anti Hillary?
- NickHodges, on 05/06/2008, -1/+2Not every post, just the posts about the Democratic primaries. ;-)
- lane.montgomery, on 05/06/2008, -1/+1This just reminds me of the CNN coverage, which is much more balanced than *other* cable new sources, but they still have that blonde expletive covering the Clinton campaign.
Fair disclosure, I support Barack Obama.
But this woman who covers Clinton on CNN is blatantly biased in her favor. Every news story I see about the Clinton campaign by this woman completely down-plays facts like what is mentioned in this article, and then goes on to spew whatever the line is the campaign has put out that day.
/rant - NickHodges, on 05/06/2008, -1/+3I have to say that the irony of the lefties finally coming to see the truth of what many of us have known since the early 90's: Hilary Clinton is a liar.
It ain't news, folks, because that idea isn't, well, new.- klipsch, on 05/06/2008, -1/+1I can't recall any significant lies of hers back in the 90's. I think it's only really manifested itself in this campaign, and it strongly correlates with her desperation level in obtaining the nomination. Most of these lies, spins, and half-truths have come in the last month or two as she has realized this thing has just about slipped away from her.
- NickHodges, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1You can't recall any significant lies? I think you've just proved my point. ;-)
"I made all those commodities trades myself"
"I have no idea where those billing records are".
"I had nothing to do with firing the travel office and bringing in my own cronies"
"I have no idea how those billing records suddenly appeared".
"My dealings in Whitewater were totally above board".
"I have no idea how those FBI records ended up in the White House".
That's just off the top of my head.

Because winners do whatever it takes to win.
Nice guys finish last. Crysomemore :(....- veganpunk, on 05/06/2008, -0/+0So by your mentality, It's OK to use cheat codes in an on-line video game? Steroids for athletes? What are you, like 7 years old??
- cran, on 05/06/2008, -4/+4Seriously, this is way too much one-sided propaganda. Pro-Obama, anti-Hillary and anti-McCain. Remember when it was Ron Paul? How about Howard Dean before that?
This is like college, where you get slammed with a whole lot of one opinion just because you happen to be there.
Digg needs to keep the politics off the front page, unless there's some sort of equal time system keeping it balanced.- OfNumbers, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2Mac/Obama/Ubuntu/GTA/University Trash/Ads, ads, ads, ads/Mob Mentality = Digg. Digg won't be keeping any of this off front page.
- apetrie, on 05/06/2008, -1/+3I don't think you get the whole "digg" concept. You don't have to like it, there are plenty of other places to get your news from, but this site is made so that the popular stories are the ones that make it to the front page. These stories are in your face every day because enough people want them to be. Its not made to be, nor does it pretend to be fair. It isn't the nature of digg, nor its place to give equal time to anything.
- conkers209, on 05/06/2008, -1/+2What's new in politics.
- Plantagenet, on 05/06/2008, -1/+2I suggest the Obamites just post their pro-Obama drivel once at the pro-Obama Huffington Post site where this came from and stop repeating the same posts here at DIGG.
- jerrycurley, on 05/06/2008, -1/+2Without spinning and lying, huffingtonpost would not exist.
- klipsch, on 05/06/2008, -2/+1HIllary is a cancer. Thank God, Obama has this thing wrapped up with his insurmountable pledged delegate lead. The best she can do now is angle for a possible VP slot.
- Lahonda, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2C'mon everyone... get yer flag pins on and let's go vote!
- Somedude2137, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1An anti-Hillary post! quick! digg it up!
- waggdogg, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Sad to say, all this digging will not have much of an effect on tomorrows election. Most voters are 35 and older and don't Digg. They really don't use a computer much. It's the younger generation mostly on Diggs and most of them won't vote. I know because I work the polls. Mostly old farts like me vote.
- vainrveenr, on 05/06/2008, -0/+0One concern, which was sort of mentioned above and mentioned in other Diggs, is that of the media's role covering the Democratic Primary Campaign for both Clinton and Obama.
IIRC, Hillary Clinton supporters have accused media outlets similar to the Huffington Post of unfairly favoring Obama over her campaign. Certainly some [perhaps] well-founded criticism on Digg comments above about the Sirota's Huffington Post piece.
OTOH, Obama supporters and those undecided have even better well-founded claims that media outlets overall are really unfairly harping AGAINST Obama. The whole issue with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright harming Obama with his recent statements and Obama's long-standing connection with Wright's church. Obama CLEARLY distanced himself from Wright, and yet major media outlets CONTINUE to spread around and play up stories and slanted comments on this as if this is the one KEY issue that voting Americans should REALLY be focussing on.
Hellooo anyone, isn't there still a war in Iraq and isn't the Economy going into Recession if not there already !!???
My curiosity is who may have "encouraged" Wright to defend himself with his statements solely of the last several weeks, in order to deflect some of the criticism of Hillary Clinton on the War in Iraq, of her lying on Bosnia, of her lying/spinning here, and of her other negatives??
The timing is certainly suspect, so close to the May 6th Indiana and North Carolina Primaries and all.
Could this possibly have been from Clinton supporters or pro-Clinton media outlets?
Could this possibly have been from McCain supporters or pro-McCain media outlets? - Beatmiser, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1To those complaining about too much anti-Hillary on the front page...
The beauty of Digg is that YOU have the power to control what is seen, by digging things down. It may not work when there are a thousand people digging it up but then the onus is on you to make the case as to why it shouldn't be that way.
WE control the website, as was evidenced a year or so ago when the HD DVD Code was released. It's not Digg's job to balance anything. It's ours. - caponumen, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1OMFG, a MILF spinning and lying all at once is one of my favorite fantasies!
I bet she can "bark like a dog" too...... - ITFeed, on 05/06/2008, -0/+0For once I want an article covering what merits does each candidates offer and their visions followed by their plans when they're elected as US president.
The coverage on the presidential race is sounding more like housewife's' gossip or entertainment news eg. Paris Hilton Sex video tape over the internet, Britney Spears got out of rehab. It is ridiculous, and Hillary should stop making up about what she or other people did in the past and start really expanding her visions and plans for the future. Digging up dirt makes you dirty. Nuff said - beauley, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1The BIG question...Do we want a person who knows NOTHING about economics to run our nation? She changes her policies from one day to the next only to capture more vote, not for the citizens, not for the people..
Let us the voters study the congressional records and past history of each of the candidates running for presidential office.
"Beware of Wolve's in Sheeps clothing". Hillary Clinton will tell you what pleases your ego and put her arms around your children...but see what she tried to do more than a decade ago, but was "stopped". Yes, she WILL garnish our paychecks with her Mandatory Healthcare plan. No Freedom of choice.
Just check the 1996 bill submitted to congress by Hillary Clinton and look who saved all America's butts, which includes all our children. Please learn the truth:
