- MsSmartyPants, on 05/04/2008, -1/+4Good for Oprah! Now that's a woman with Character.
- cajuncocoa, on 05/04/2008, -2/+6Maybe Oprah should run for President one day. At least she shows better judgment than the candidate she endorsed this time!!
- hillaryforum, on 05/04/2008, -3/+4I'd choose Oprah over Obama ANY DAY! At least she doesn't INSULT just about every demographic group in the American populace - unlike her mate Obama!
- hillary4change, on 05/04/2008, -0/+2Oprah could see the price she would pay, right out of her career. Why did obama not see he would pay his price out of his political career? He needed that demographic for legitimacy!
- brad3378, on 05/04/2008, -0/+4From the looks of these comments, maybe it is time for a black president - AND a woman president.
- jcm267, on 05/05/2008, -0/+1Condi?
- Redwood, on 05/05/2008, -2/+2Did anyone read the whole (short) article? An excellent report on why one stayed, and one left, and why both decisions made sense (although neither could have guessed what an idiot Wright would end up being the last couple of weeks)
- Troika37, on 05/05/2008, -1/+3Um, yes.
FTA: "According to two sources, Winfrey was never comfortable with the tone of Wright's more incendiary sermons, which she knew had the power to damage her standing as America's favorite daytime talk-show host."
Looks like Oprah realized Wright had crossed all sorts of lines almost 20 years ago. She also realized her association with him could hurt her standing as a businesswoman.
How am I supposed to trust Obama's judgement (which he has made the cornerstone of his campaign) when he didn't realize Wright could hurt his political career? - drz130, on 05/05/2008, -0/+3Wright wasn't being an idiot just the last couple of weeks. He was being Wright. If he's been an idiot the last couple of weeks, he's been an idiot the last 20 years or so. He didn't say anything different. He just has a bigger platform now. Though idiot is part of what may describe him, he's not uni-dimensional. He's also a racist, a demagogue, and an anti-Semite, to name a few descriptions.
- Troika37, on 05/05/2008, -1/+3Um, yes.
- EIderofzion, on 05/05/2008, -0/+1it is my opinion,, and only an opinion,, that it's Obama's Wife who is the whacked out radical, and it was her church, that she, as alot of US wives do, who would coerce her husband into going to the Chruch.
