Sean Penn endorses Barack Obama
telegraph.co.uk — ”I hope that he will understand, if he is the nominee, the degree of disillusionment that will happen if he doesn't become a greater man than he will ever be, ” Penn said. “This is the most important election, certainly in my lifetime, and maybe ever.”

Asked if he would be joining other Hollywood A-listers in pledging support for Obama, Penn gave him a less than ringing endorsement and warned that he has an awful lot to live up to.
”I don't have a candidate I'm supporting and I'm certainly interested and excited by the hope that Barack Obama is inspiring,” he said, but went on to accuse him of a “phenomenally inhuman and unconstitutional” voting record.
Hardly sounds like an endorsement. - dan.stryker, on 05/14/2008, -1/+8Just shows you that these "eggheads" (hollywood libs and dailykos/huffington puffing type) will stop supporting barack hussein obama this time next year if he doesn't do exactly what they demand. (ie. pull out of Iraq) Which he won't do...
- huertanix, on 05/14/2008, -0/+10Sean Penn DID NOT ENDORSE OBAMA. He rather warned him that he's gonna have to make up for his weaksauce voting record in the Senate and become superman if he doesn't want to disillusion the country forever, essentially. Hardly an endorsement.
- cheeseysynapse, on 05/14/2008, -5/+5"phenomenally inhuman and unconstitutional voting record" - what voting record? oh yeah.............those "present" votes were meant that he was "for" the legislation but "against" all the pork they usually attach to bills. i'm sure that kind of discriminating attitude will serve him well whilst making speeches on the campaign trail.
- exgop, on 05/14/2008, -1/+7nice try loser, it means he does not want people to know how he really thinks.
- cheeseysynapse, on 05/15/2008, -0/+4uh.................so, um what is he afraid of? oh yeah, defending his convictions. some serious moral fortitude that man has. i mean, he's only running for president of the United States. but, hey, at least i know he's for change.....................................and no gas tax holiday.................and hope. i almost forgot about hope........thats all i need to know.
- NoStoppingUs, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1i couldnt decide if i should digg you up for your comment or digg you down. you seem to think that comment HELPS barack hussein obomba when it actually doesnt. for that, i want to digg you up, but you also seem to be ok with him hiding the way he truly feels, and for that, im going to go ahead and digg you down.
- Argentian, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1Obama had the most liberal voting record of anyone in the Senate since he arrived in that Blowhard group. Penn seems to be varying his attitudes a bit, from what the knee-jerk Socialist, Commie, pinko Christian-intolerant views he expresses, again, and again, and again, in his past.
I guess it shows that even the most dyed-in-the-wool Commie lover (Fidel, Chavez, Che, etc.) can have a concern with BO's ballgame.

- exgop, on 05/14/2008, -2/+7Sean Penn is actually thinking. Im VERY impressed.
- Argentian, on 05/15/2008, -1/+4You sound easily impressed...I hope I'm wrong because this is not the person to be impressed by, for any reason.
- exgop, on 05/15/2008, -1/+1Im impressed he has an original thought

- DonWigler, on 05/14/2008, -0/+9When Hollywood stars call you out for having an unconstitutional voting record it must be pretty bad.
- johnnyfistfight, on 05/15/2008, -2/+4and all this time I thought he was stupid.
- Argentian, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3The author of this Digg entry, WiselyBear, seems to have an agenda to make scanners think Penn actually endorsed Obama, and nothing could be further from the truth. In actuality, he had quite a bit to say that did NOT endorse him, but warned him. I guess when you have an agenda that is unBearable, truth takes a back seat to policy.
And Natalie Portman's comment of not endorsing BO or Hill is interesting. Why? Because Hillary is an exceptional...'fan' of Portman's with more than your standard Hollywood star admiration, and the Nat wouldn't endorse her. I think Natalie's bi-Sexting the attraction of the two Democratic leading candidates, and doesn't want to get in bed with either of them, at least for now. - IRPro, on 05/15/2008, -1/+1I noticed that too, Argentian. I do wonder if Natalie is perhaps for McCain.. not by what she said, but by her complete lack of any praise of either Hillary or Obama... very unlike Hollywood to not blow sunshine up someones ass.
BTW, marked this entry as inaccurate. There is no endorsement here, but deffinately a Bitch Slap.
