- JekJob, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1I agree that not writing her own speech is a fairly weak argument (even though it shows that she doesn't have enough knowledge of the issues to write a coherent address). But even on such an insignificant level, you're STILL wrong! I can prove you wrong at every turn.
- NoDrama, on 09/04/2008, -0/+2Actually, Obama writes many but not all of his speeches - some he merely outlines, then lets somebody else work on before he puts on the finishing touches, that's true - yet it misses the point.
The point is, praising Palin's "speech" isn't praising her thinking or writing, but only her delivery of somebody else's work. That is a marked contrast, since you bring up the comparison, but I was only referring to the fact that it doesn't really reveal much about her beyond her ability to read a teleprompter.
It isn't, you see, her own SPEECH; it's Palin's speaking that we were allowed to observe.
