Obama: Strength Out of Weakness. His Candor is Refreshing.
washingtonpost.com — Take your greatest weakness - the thing people whisper about you by the water cooler- and address it directly, without apologies or sweet talk. That's Obama's approach, and in a country where people increasingly seem to regard politicians as professional liars, no wonder people find it refreshing.

- damian7, on 07/06/2008, -1/+12McCain should just drop out. There's no way he'll stand a chance standing next to this man during the debates. It'll be like Nixon vs. Kennedy only better.
- ReidFleming, on 07/06/2008, -0/+5I'm really looking forward to that. I know McCain wants town hall type meetings but I don't see those as going any better for him.
- Rotzooi, on 07/06/2008, -10/+3I'm done with Obama:
"Barack Obama called "active faith" an obligation of religious Americans and a chief agent of societal change."- ReidFleming, on 07/06/2008, -1/+7I'm not a religious American so it doesn't pertain to me. Look, most people on the planet are religious, get over it. At least as it pertains to this election and those to come for decades, there will be Christians running and at least some pandering to them. If you want to sit out the election in a huff over a single issue, it's your loss.

All Obama is is sweet talk. - DenaL, on 07/08/2008, -0/+10Candor is refreshing--we need more of it from everyone!
- tinag, on 07/08/2008, -0/+4Great article, and so true. Just one of the many reasons people are drawn to Obama and know he is the best choice for our next president!
- bmcrow21, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2Obama is head and shoulders above McSame.
- rdemocracy, on 07/13/2008, -0/+0I agree Obama is head and shoulders against Mcinsane.
Candor is a bi-product of living without fear, first you can be honest with your family, friends, neighbors, associates, strangers and then you can sit down with foreign leaders, listen to what they have to say, and then tell them what you will and will not do, and go on to solving the next problem. Having a conversation and being frank, open and honest does not mean that you are being an appeaser; it simply means that you are a confidant adult, who can communicate. - rdemocracy, on 07/13/2008, -0/+0I agree, Obama is head and shoulders above McCain. Candor is a biproduct of maturity; that's what America needs, a mature leader. The days of the "Maverick are over"
