Obama: 'Be Nice to Clinton Supporters.'
blog.washingtonpost.com — At an event in the timber-country town of Roseburg, Ore., he told a boisterous crowd of about 300 supporters that a win in November would require a unified Democratic Party, adding: "That means all of you have to be nice to Clinton supporters."

- OwdenBowden, on 05/19/2008, -10/+1The reason he is tell them to be nice is because Clinton is going to the Vice Presidential nominee by Obama. Oh and by the way - they still lose to the republicans (with only one caveat: if it was a Clinton/ Obama Ticket then I could see the Democrats wining by a hair).
Fact is Obama is going to be torn a new ***** by the republicans. All his dirty laundry (including but not limited to his endorsement by HAM-ASS / his serious relationships and support by Islamic terrorist and their terrorist organization, ) will be flying out of the closet and the rest of the world will know that this guy is a Joke. - BaudiIROCZ, on 05/19/2008, -0/+6If voter turn out is any indication the GOP doesn't have a prayer in the November election. The party is failing miserably. This is coming from someone with mostly conservative principles. The republicans just dont represent what we stand for anymore. As much as I don't favor the democrats health insurance policies I think they're less harmful than preemptive wars under false pretenses of weapons that don't exist and a threat that was never real.

- barfooz, on 05/19/2008, -8/+1415 million people voted for the opposition candidate. I think it's entirely obvious that he needs their support to win. If you want to call that being a "uniter", fine, but it's what every nominee has to do.
- maj0rm0j0, on 05/20/2008, -0/+1Obama was virtually unheard of before the primaries started. The movement he has put together is of epic proportion and to get to where he is today was through unification. There is no other way to explain it. He has brought people together and that is exactly the definition of the word.
Your right it is what every nominee has to do, but he has done it better than all the others.

- JettaMan, on 05/19/2008, -22/+4Ah, Obama can do no wrong. What a dreamy world we live in. BARF! You people are suckers for an act, aren't you? He's no different than Hillary or McCain and change for him just means increasing government even more.
- sodoh, on 05/19/2008, -1/+10When you only get to vote which cat you want in, it is best to pick the one that looks the most like a mouse. Either that or it is time the mice rise up and change it.
As for Obamas comments, they are good. Compare that to when Bush came into power on the last election. I forget who in the Republican party was asked but there was a question "Now that Bush has one, do you think he has what it takes to unite the country?". The response was "Why should he? He won".
Which clearly defined what is wrong with current US administration. Can only hope whoever gets in changes that.- whereiseljefe, on 05/19/2008, -1/+3That comment is more indicative of "whats wrong with all administrations" than just this one.
- luet, on 05/19/2008, -0/+5How can you be so incredibly negative? You're just assuming he will be bad for the country because he's a politician!
- sup3rnautx, on 05/19/2008, -0/+2"increasing the government even more?"
I don't think it can get any bigger than an almost 300+ billion dollar war deficit. why is it that we all the sudden had so much money to spend on a war, while there are still families living under the poverty line and the public education system is in shambles? so, its okay for the government to get big on terror, but not on domestic issues that need answers now?
is it so unrealistic to consider that 300 billion to be spent on improving our nation (economy and the ENVIRONMENT) is a bad idea? - OwdenBowden, on 05/19/2008, -0/+1Here. Here.

Why, because I am going to be the nominee and the divisiveness is no longer needed. We need to unite NOW so that I can win whereas we were divided BEFORE so I could win.

- StarlessKnight, on 05/19/2008, -0/+20That's usually what you do with quotes, cite who said them. The "he said" is a little vague, and while the article is about Obama and that sounds like Obama it's still a good idea just to add in that little 'extra.'
- Barackalypse, on 05/19/2008, -25/+4That's odd, he seemed to like lies and fear just fine when he voted to re-authorize the Patriot Act and to build a border fence with Mexico. You're being told exactly what you want to hear from a man who has delivered you the same old big brother laws.

If he had just voted against it you might feel warm and fuzzy but the bill would have passed the Senate in its original form 99-1 and we'd all be worse off today.

- OralCavity, on 05/19/2008, -0/+7Obama could talk a LOT more trash about McCain (see the hit job Bush did on McCain). He's currently just pointing out differences in their policies, neither candidate has made personal attacks on each other or each other's families. ...That is not to say that each party has been as civil, but the candidates have each tried to to keep it above that.

- goodnrg, on 05/19/2008, -36/+24"Not everyone in attendance was firmly sold on Obama...On the other hand, there were many who said they had fallen for the senator.." So the people who weren't for Obama had to be "sold" but the people supporting Obama had "fallen" for him? Makes it sound like the people who were undecided were thoughtful, discerning consumers whereas the Obama supporters were like schoolgirls who were pining over some teen idol. Another not so subtle message that Obama supporters are somehow delusional. I know this is a blog posting but so much for unbiased reporting.
- Ridgeliner7, on 05/19/2008, -9/+26Social sites like Digg, who allow Blog postings to be used as "news sources" have contributed to the decline of journalism, IMO. Judging from the submissions here on Digg, it appears we have a whole generation who doesn't know what legitimate news sources are, and so you get BS like the above, and people who cannot tell the difference in the Washington Post, and other outlets, between a reporters personal opinion and a supposedly unbiased news article. Pity.
- chicofaraby, on 05/19/2008, -5/+16I think the crap reporting by the corporate media whores like the WaPo and NYT have caused them to lose their own credibility. If they would have spent a little time investigating the ***** coming out of George Bush since 2001 they might have more credibility than bloggers.
Journalism killed itself with WMD. - commernie, on 05/19/2008, -5/+18Wrong. We can easily tell the difference between the Washington Post and "other outlets", and we consciously choose other outlets.
The corporate media has shown time and time again that they are not interested in reporting unbiased news, but rather what is in the interests of their rich owners. Clearly, those interests are not the same as ours (unless you are super rich) and, in fact, they are opposed to ours. The only logical action is to completely ignore what they have to say and to seek alternative sources of information.- JointVenture, on 05/19/2008, -8/+5You dumb *****, all you do is choose outlets that fit your agenda.
- EtherGnat, on 05/19/2008, -1/+2Thank you JointVenture for another valuable contribution to the discussion. I'm happy to see your anger management classes are going well. Lets see how well you're doing at choosing "outlets that fit your agenda". Your past few diggs have included the following sites:
http://americandigest.org/
http://newsbusters.org/
http://www.foxnews.com/
http://oldgloryradio.podbean.com/
Thank god you're not choosing biased sites like the rest of us.
- nascentia, on 05/19/2008, -2/+19I realize this is a tangent and off-topic, but sites like Digg have had nothing to do with the decline of journalism. I got my degree in journalism, and at 23, I've already covered murders and politics and personally interviewed Jeb Bush when he was still governor of FL (just so you know I know what I'm talking about.)
The decline in journalism is primarily due to three large things. One, the fact that the vast majority of all news outlets are corporate owned. This leads to conflicts between advertising and informing. It also leads owners to view news as dollar signs and a commodity to sell, rather than information to inform people with. When you have owners who care about ratings for news shows, you have a problem.
Two, the audience dictates what we get. And sadly, if you put up the most ground-breaking article on cancer research ever, and put next to it an article on Paris Hilton, guess which one will get more hits and readers, and thus, more ad dollars? So you can guess which you'll see more of. I hate to generalize, but most audiences are not very smart. We were taught to write (I went for print, BTW) at a 5th grade reading level. So audiences aren't always very educated, and they gravitate towards entertainment rather than information, which led to the ***** known as "infotainment" which is not news at all, IMO.
Third, almost every news outlet in the country is broke after 9/11. All of the papers and broadcast outlets spent a ton of money covering 9/11, and it led to huge debt. That led to staff cuts. So now we have news channels and newspapers without the necessary staff to authenticate and research stories properly, and the people who are left are the ones who've been in the business for 20+ years. And sadly, those people are the ones most caught up by the 'journalism system' and who are least likely to change anything and adapt to new mediums and audiences. This, combined with #1, means many outlets pool together, and competition is cut back.
Take where I live in Florida, for example. The Florida Times-Union is the Jacksonville area's largest newspaper, owned by Morris. Morris also owns the St. Augustine Record, and The Georgia Times-Union. These papers also affiliate and share some offices with News 4 Jax, the main TV news outlet. But these papers can't afford the staff they need, even with such large audiences. And in the case of the Record, I know for a fact that some of the editors have said, flat-out, that the Internet is a fad, so they'll ignore it and focus only on print.
THAT is why journalism in this country has gone to hell.
Sorry for the gigantic, off-topic rant here. But this is something important to me. I used to love the profession, and I did a lot of amazing things as editor of my college paper. But the industry is tarnished, and I left for good. I tried as hard as I could to get in and make a difference, but with newspapers folding left and right, there were just no jobs. I was more than qualified and even had a leg-up because my college graduates seniors in April, so I was out the door early to get a job.
And in the entire state of Florida, the WHOLE state, there were 17 openings in the entire field of journalism last year when I was looking. That includes magazine, print, broadcast, and radio.
That's why this industry has failed us.- friskekd, on 05/19/2008, -0/+2I completely agree. The job market is not much better up here in Wisconsin. I graduated last December with a degree in broadcast journalism and so far I think there has been around 10 openings in the entire state. Of those, probably less that 5 were entry level positions. I've basically given up any hope of a career in journalism. Lucky for me I hear KFC is hiring.

- redheaded1, on 05/19/2008, -4/+107Bill Clinton himself said of the primary process: "Fall in love, then fall in line." Meaning: passionately support your candidate while the primaries are going. When it's all over, passionately support the nominee. This is simple. And right.

- romistrub, on 05/19/2008, -3/+7The really sad part is that I understand where a lot of them are coming from. Could you imagine what it would be like to be a woman seeing the possibility of a woman president? I imagine it's a very heart-stirring feeling. I know, however, that there are plenty of opportunities for a female president in the "near" future.
Coming this close will surely have ramifications for how people vote in elections to come.- lisaawesome, on 05/19/2008, -2/+24It wasn't heart-stirring for this woman. The fact that she is the former first lady would cheapen a historic moment. Does anyone think she would be running right now if she wasn't the former first lady? I think the first female president needs to be very much a self made woman or she is going to look like she road a man's coattails all the way to the White House and that is not the message the first female president should be sending.

It seems like the women who are the pioneers into a "man's world" tend to have to out man the men. Taking harder lines, and basically doing anything possible to not show weakness. I'm not sure how great that would be in our president.
That said, it has to happen sometime. - goatmasterx, on 05/19/2008, -1/+1Vote harpO 2012!
- mcquitty, on 05/19/2008, -0/+1I am not opposed to a woman being president. I would just rather have a different woman be president.
I have a strong dislike towards people over bias, this is both pro and con. Why vote for Mrs. Clinton simply because she is a woman? Why vote for Mr. Obama because he is black? Why vote for Mr. McCain simply because he is white?
Doesn't that go against Mr. King's message of judging people based upon character?

While I am a strong Obama supporter, ANY democrat would be vast improvement on the republican regime. Now more than ever we need a unified democratic party, not a party divided so sharply and maliciously. They will come around in due time. When it comes down to a choice between McCain and Obama, anyone who previously supported Hillary would be a fool to vote for McCain as he is so far divorced from Hillary's vision. - ADVIZR, on 05/19/2008, -1/+10The hatred on that forum is really sickening. These aren't the liberals/democrats I've ever known. It's truly sad.
It's like entering a neocon forum where they're plotting and scheming, using erroneous points and flat-out lies to push their agenda. It's *one of the very things* that totally turned me off from the Clinton campaign; yet they just don't see what they've become.
Every true liberal I know can objectively see the good in both candidates, not putting blinders on, and is eager to get rid of the neocons. Obama will be a wonderful leader and a positive example for millions around the world. Liberals, independents, and even some republicans who respect Obama... should all be happy for the future of the US when Obama is President.- ZeRux, on 05/19/2008, -5/+2As if some of the christian or republican bashing comments on digg or dailykos are any batter.
- Blankcheque, on 05/19/2008, -2/+2What exactly is a "true liberal"?
You just lived up to the term the radical right refer to as "liberal elitism". Talking down to people because you feel like your voice is founded more in reason and intellectual truth.
Maybe next time you want to rub some salve on the wounds of the Clinton supporters you might want to try it with out the masingil laden tone in your responses.
The fact that Obama has to come out and say "we have to play nice in the playground." is ironic to me at least. His whole campaign is around avoiding the smear campaign.
Yet all his supporters do is take the bait from Hillary Clintons incendiary and misleading campaigns.
Bah, I don't ***** know why I'm bothering...
You people don't want a dirty campaign?
Then don't bite in to the negativity when you see one against your chosen representative. And choose your candidates based on facts.
So play nice in the sandbox, not just when your guy wants to win, just recognize that when you're saying you support a candidate, you are an ambassador for that candidate.- EtherGnat, on 05/19/2008, -1/+1I agree with most of what you said, but I'm so sick of the term 'liberal elitism' being thrown around. The attitude is certainly not limited to liberals (read Digg comments or listen to conservative talk radio) and it usually has more to do with people be immature assholes than it does with elitism.
Liberal elitism is another example of the word games that Republicans are so good at playing, along with appeaser, flip-flopper, etc.. - Blankcheque, on 05/19/2008, -2/+1And yet, I just pointed out a superb example of what liberal elitism is.
Whether you find it distasteful or not, it's a fact that it's in the lexicon of part of the traditional "red stater". And it just continues to be a wedge that drives us further from being Obama's stump speech of being the "United States, not red states and blue states." - EtherGnat, on 05/19/2008, -0/+2As I mentioned I wasn't attacking your thoughts, just the term. While there might be times when "liberal elitism" applies just as the term "conservative elitism" could legitimately be applied, the term is bastardized and overused.
Do you have a good education? Ah, you must be part of the liberal elite.
Did you value the opinion of experts on the topic? More liberal elitism!
Do you not talk at a third grade level? Obviously you're an elitist.
Are your opinions complex and difficult to describe? F#$%in' liberal elite!
It's a calculated tactic by Republicans, and who do you think all the talk of "elitists" is designed to play well with? If you answer that question honestly I think you'll realize who the true elitists are. - ADVIZR, on 05/20/2008, -0/+3So now I'm part of the "liberal elite." Being part of this liberal elite, I sure must stand out like a city slicker next to outback buckaroos like Clinton and McCain.
Your response is quite typical. It's humorous at best. It completely fails to address the overwhelming degree to which many Clinton supporters on that forum are using neocon standards: disregard for truth and fellow human beings.
I, in no way, think they represent all Clinton supporters. I've met some Clinton voters who are also pleased to vote for Obama when it comes down to it. They are not putting blinders on, nor convincing themselves that Obama is bad. But, then again, I suppose I hang out with the "liberal elite": diverse people from all walks of life who are educated and have compassion. And, by "education," I don't necessarily mean schooling. One's background doesn't matter or dictate one's intelligence or understanding. I'm referring to "common sense."
To answer your question, a true liberal, to me, is someone who believes in a balance of freedom, liberty, and the social power of government with solid limitations (e.g. checks & balances). It's a bit like libertarianism is toward freedom ("you're free to do what you will") but with more compassion toward fellow humans, animals, and the environment. Liberalism, however, realizes that the government can be more active in the betterment of society, while still obstructing individual liberties as little as possible. It's a balance. You could probably sum it up as believing in the words "compassion", "civil rights", "progress", "freedom", "social", "giving", "law", "standards", "openness", and, "common sense".
- EtherGnat, on 05/19/2008, -1/+1I agree with most of what you said, but I'm so sick of the term 'liberal elitism' being thrown around. - thepoliticalcat, on 05/19/2008, -14/+32How many of them are Republican trolls paid to infiltrate blogs and fora to keep this mythical battle alive in the hope of winning John McLame the White House?
- theculchie1, on 05/19/2008, -1/+2I doubt its many. As we have seen with Ron Paul a strong internet campaign doesn't translate into votes. As we also see from digg Obama's demographic, primarily younger and educated, dominates stories here.
Unfortunately if history has shown us anything young voters are the least likely to vote. Its the 40 pluses that will decide the election. - mcquitty, on 05/19/2008, -0/+1Yes, your title of John McLame just shows your immature nature. Assume much? It must be a conspiracy? Are the Mr. Ron Paul advocates shills as well?
What's with all the childish name calling here? As much as you would protest someone calling Mr. Obama any name, including his middle name, you make quick judgements about people who would follow Mr. McCain and call him childish names.
- theculchie1, on 05/19/2008, -1/+2I doubt its many. As we have seen with Ron Paul a strong internet campaign doesn't translate into votes. As we also see from digg Obama's demographic, primarily younger and educated, dominates stories here.
- knickboy87, on 05/19/2008, -3/+10If we're going to be "post-partisan," he's completely right, we need them-- both for the election and to show how this sort of politics is possible.

- moonlessrat, on 05/19/2008, -1/+4A quick look at your history shows a host of comments referencing Obama and Sharia law. Suggesting he is a Muslim is misleading, a blatant lie and slanderous. You sir are a tool.

- lickmylovepump, on 05/19/2008, -80/+9Obama is going to be a great Anti-Christ. Everyone already loves him, so when he gets Israel to sign a seven year peace agreement between them and their neighbors, don't say you weren't warned. Blind people don't walk down a different sidewalk and therefore fall into the same hole.
- StarlessKnight, on 05/19/2008, -1/+20Didn't Jesus tell people to stop obsessing over when the End Times would come? There are more important things to do besides point and go "that's the final nail in the coffin for Humanity!" We're not dead, yet.
- KaiSe7eN, on 05/19/2008, -3/+12The anit-christ will be more charismatic and more brilliant than Obama. The anti-christ will capture the heart and minds of everyone. Don't be so naive and coo-coo. Are you retarded?

Yet, I see so much name calling here. If you call Mr. Obama any name, instant bury. If you call Mr. McCain any name, insta-digg.
The rhetoric and hatred for anything not Pro Mr. Obama is stifling.
What ever happened to reasonable discourse? A discussion of policies rather than the childish nature of name calling? Can someone not discuss something about Mr. Obama that might be negative without being called a racist, fascist, redneck?
Why not be inspired to be like Mr. Obama rather than bash those who are not for him?- maj0rm0j0, on 05/20/2008, -2/+1What your seeing is a model that shows how badly people in this country want change.

Perhaps the nation would be better off if we elected a president with high moral standards and a proven track record of passing good legislation and making a difference in the world. Then the hateful comments towards anyone that does not see things the same as Obama furthers that feeling. McCain 08, I don't want to be associated with you Obama supporters and your beliefs in a divided society no matter how much you want my vote. Spend 10:1 come November if you want, but my vote is not for sale. You can't buy the White House even if you believe you can. What you've said to this point can't be erased with a simple speech!

- PussySnatcher, on 05/19/2008, -5/+18Wow, OK. So you base your political opinions and choice on what people on Digg do to annoy you? So people that annoy you on Digg make you like Obama less? Pfft! You sir shouldn't be voting at all... If you can not make an informed decision about the direction and future of this country based on issues then you should just stay home and just watch TV and don't even vote. Seriously, leave it to the rest of us. See, I like to think about the future that my kids, grandkids and other future kids and grandkids will have 20, 50, 100 years down the line and not concentrate on the stupid "American Presidential Idol" crap that is run by the media now a days. This country is getting flushed down the proverbial ***** pipe faster than I take a ***** in the aforementioned pipe, and people like you aren't helping.
Oh and by the way... You keep believing your vote is not for sale (sucker.) Come November your vote will have been bought and paid for in some way, shape, or form whether you like to admit it or not. Can't buy The White House... Pfft! What a fool... WTF you think happened in 2000, and 2004? You think all that voter rigging, vote purging and voter suppression was just magic? Thats hard work, connections and lots of money my friend. Get a clue. They didn't just buy it... They charged it to your and my credit; ***** ingenious!

Looks like wood burning and stoves are gonna make a comeback.
Also the rollback to 55mph speed limits.. wow, I already drive a hybrid, so I go for driver effect, but wow, these kids now days, driving their cars on the highway at 55mph. OMG, a lot of this stuff will certainly be entertaining to watch. I imagine a lot of that stuff will be automated. I wonder if the enforcement is going to have the effect of slowing people down, or if it is going to be used to remove drivers licenses?
Hey at least when bottled water is made illegal (lol) the local governments will get pressure to make the tap water taste better.
Just imagine all the possibilities for government regulation now with the Internet, that were not possible in the 70's.
So much of the Obama thing just makes no sense... Here they are railing against this stuff day after day, but then a guy comes along and says, Hey!!! Government mandated energy conservation measures!!! And they all go nuts like he is a rock star or something.
ROFL.- mcquitty, on 05/19/2008, -0/+2At times, I just think it is entitlement mentality. Look at all the love for DeCSS. The hatred for the DMCA. The love for Linux. The hatred of Microsoft. DeCSS makes movies free, because movies should be "Free as in beer".
The same government that gives you the DMCA, Katrina, stolen votes and stolen elections, and government corruption and/or waste from the middle manager on up is going to save this country with healthcare, more government programs, and a heavier fist.
They talk about fascism, but they ask the state for more. More government handouts, more government intervention and more government regulation. "Please Uncle Sam, can I have more?"
The protest is about war and corruption. Yet the Democrats they love have been at the heart of the system longer than I have been around. Good luck on a message of change when the goal is status quo. Don't believe me? I ask you to show me one thing that Mr. Obama has changed in the DNC.
Here's what I see... I see name calling. That's mature discourse right there.

- Barackalypse, on 05/19/2008, -11/+5So Obama thinks other countries opinions on my car and house temperature ought to somehow impact how I live my life? They damn well better say "OK". I know he is a member on the Council on Foreign Relations and all, and thus a globalist at heart, but to actually say something like that and still enjoy legitimacy as a candidate is disgusting. I guess somewhere along the way he lost sight of what "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" meant.
- Kas70, on 05/19/2008, -1/+1I guess you won't accept that you do not live in a bubble. Like it or not, you are part of a global community and what we do affects others and all of our actions will affect whether there is a world at all for your great-grandchildren. I think that trumps your belief that a hot house and a gas guzzling car falls into your "rights" to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". Adapt or get out of the way.
- warlokaz2004, on 05/19/2008, -4/+20Hey, I'm a republican and I HATE Jimmy Carter .. but I'll tell you this, for the past five years we've NEEDED some Jimmy Carter style leadership...I'm not saying B.S. like the 'Malaise' speech, but at least things like telling us to cut back on our Automobile use, and to hold off on the thermostat...that type of thing. Instead we've had a Texas oilman in the white house as Oil prices have spiked saying "Let the market run its course" -- well the market is running out of control, all while we've been told to keep driving our SUV's and not to worry....if we'd been told from that start of the Iraq war to conserve, we might have been able to plan a little more and not get raped at the gas pump.

- 335io07, on 05/19/2008, -3/+7I think it was a smart move in his part. His ultimate goal is to win the presidency of the United States. He needs all the votes he can get to defeat McCain. - Trails123, on 05/19/2008, -10/+3I'm reminded of a Wizard of Oz song:
Ding Dong! The Witch is dead. Which old Witch? The Wicked Witch!
Ding Dong! The Wicked Witch is dead.

Some people just don't know when to face reality. Clinton supporters should be very happy that the nominee (Obama) is a great candidate. I can't wait till this process if finally over and people stop being in denial, so we can get on with booting the neocons as far away from the government as possible.- Ridgeliner7, on 05/19/2008, -2/+3Some would say the neoliberals are just as bad, eh?
- Kautylia, on 05/19/2008, -1/+2McCain represents some democrats better than Obama does. Unfortunately, that's just the way it is. The scene might change come November, but in all honestly, Obama thus far has not lived up to his name of a uniter.
- ohplease, on 05/19/2008, -12/+4Clinton quoted as saying "***** THING SUCKS"
- Dorepoll, on 05/19/2008, -0/+2How crowded is that bandwagon you have hopped on?
- AsylumAleikum, on 05/19/2008, -12/+5LOL. Instead of begging Clinton supporters for votes, Snobama is patronizing them.
- winampman2, on 05/19/2008, -5/+12Its up to the Clinton supporters to join with Obama in November. If they don't, and McCain ends up as president, I'm going to give up on democracy in this country.
- thanakar, on 05/19/2008, -2/+8This country has never been a democracy.
- nightchaser, on 05/19/2008, -9/+9Hilary is setting herself up for 2012. She will make a big public show of "helping" Obama, but her hard core supporters will be working behind the scenes to elect McCain. She knows that 4 years of McCain will be a disaster, and in 2012, she'll say "If the nomination had not been stolen from me in 08, we would not have had 4 more years of Bush's third term. Now, you have to elect ME!"
- franklymister, on 05/19/2008, -0/+5Regular voters (not political junkies) don't remember nominating contests, and wouldn't respond to a claim like that. There are plenty of Americans who have no idea who the vice president is, and who can't even name any of the losing candidates in recent general elections.
- exomni, on 05/19/2008, -1/+1Just like Kerry and Gore, right?

- rawg, on 05/19/2008, -5/+14FTA: "Michelle Obama introduced her husband at the event, in the wood-paneled University Club of Portland, and she expressed some surprise at where the two have found themselves after 15 months of campaigning. "So here we are," she said. "Probably not where we were supposed to be, ever. No one put their money on Barack Obama."
At which point, a woman in the crowd shouted, "I did!"
"And look what you've done," Michelle Obama smiled."
Nice riff!!! She's going to be a great first lady. - junkwheel, on 05/19/2008, -3/+14"We can no longer afford to build ourselves up by digging someone else down." ---Barack Obama

- papipablo, on 05/19/2008, -5/+7You wouldn't trip a blind person, so don't make fun of Clintonites.
- luckyguy2000, on 05/19/2008, -12/+2who else read "osama" at first?
- huggybarrel, on 05/19/2008, -2/+1only the racists i think.
- luckyguy2000, on 05/20/2008, -0/+1lol, i did not intend to make a political statement with the post :-) its just what i read at first. im pro obama btw.
- jdevine420, on 05/19/2008, -9/+4its going to be so funny when he become president and then ruins the country even more.
- darylyounge, on 05/19/2008, -8/+3 Americans, like Canadians, fail to recognize that neither the republicans or democrats are truly interested in what matters to ordinary citizens, yet we continue to vote for them.
And no I am not a Socialist or a Communist
To say Obama is a uniter is like saying ***** doesn't stink. - jbenson2, on 05/19/2008, -8/+2The O-man wants to play nice with everyone, including terrorists.
Obama makes Jimmy Carter look tough.
Is he aware that Iran is killing American soldiers and Marines?
Does Obama know anything about the mullahs and their record of terror and their ambitions for the region?
Obama expects people to take his support for Israel's security seriously, and then declares that Iran isn't a serious threat?- Hetman, on 05/19/2008, -2/+2Please tell me explain to me why Iran is a serious threat? And it is about time we let Isreal defend itself.
- jbenson2, on 05/19/2008, -1/+1Have you heard of nuclear suitcase bombs?
Have you heard about Iran supporting terrorist organizations?
Israel is an ally. She will certainly defend herself. And the USA will help.
- jbenson2, on 05/19/2008, -1/+1Have you heard of nuclear suitcase bombs?

- Hetman, on 05/19/2008, -9/+3Because Obama supporters are sheep. and if they do not have direction they would blindly walk off the nearest clifrf.
- bdette, on 05/19/2008, -4/+12The man has class and dignity....that's why I'm going to vote for him.
