McCain: I will win Iraq, kill bin Laden
timesonline.co.uk — John McCain declared yesterday that within four years of being elected president he would have won the Iraq war, killed or captured Osama bin Laden, halted the nuclear ambitions of Iran and North Korea and introduced British-style Prime Minister’s Questions in Congress.

- chaimtom, on 05/16/2008, -6/+7This speech is possibly the best Political Suicide Note since Michael Foot's Opus. Amnesty, power sharing, Global Warming, hug a Polar bear etc. Why is he running as a Republican? The Dems would love an old white war hero. Apres moi le deluge. The ' fatal conceit ' of the man.
- Krisgi, on 05/16/2008, -7/+7He just needs a little assistance in this suicide. Shall we help in with our votes?
- victorypup, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1No, if he picks Hillary as his running mate, the Clintons are esperts on suicide.
- davidmesaaz, on 05/16/2008, -4/+11Lets not lose focus on what John McCain wants to do not he guarantees to do. Every administration has had members of the opposing party. Reagan had Democrat Jeane Kirkpatrick his ambassador to the UN and other Reagan Democrats.
To me I find its hard to fault McCain for pushing for more transparency and accountability in government. - Qong, on 05/16/2008, -3/+6He did make a lot of predictions, which surely wasn't a smart thing to do. But there is a lot in the speech that I agree with completely.
I also agree with David: I don't see how we can fault him for trying to bring the government and the people together, and forcing our government to stand accountable for its actions. That seems like something that everyone can want and agree with, whether you're a Democrat or a Republican. - AlwaysAwake, on 05/16/2008, -7/+7My,my. The Tooth Fairy sure has been busy !! Has he visited your house too ? And they all lived happily ever after. Daddy's going to take us all home, boys and girls. Oh please Daddy, tell us another one !!!
- bitfreak, on 05/16/2008, -8/+6No, McSame, you won't. You'll huff, and you'll puff, but in the end you'll do jack *****.
- Todash19, on 05/16/2008, -2/+3Dumb couldn't catch him. Whats makes dumber think he can?
Hot air. - avengingturnip, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1And why didn't he apply for the "War Czar" position when they were looking for someone? It would have been one heck of a resume builder knowing he was planning on running for president.
- gypsi, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1yeah, bin laden. remember him?
- rexblade, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1This is what they call a "campaign promise", most of these assholes know damn well Osama is dead. But do you think they are going to tell us? In fact theres a good chance he was dead before we even went into Iraq in 2003 when there wasnt even Al-CIA-DUH in Iraq in 2003....."Que the next mysterious and threatening audio tape please."
- elleigh2, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1There are so many things that really tee me off about McCain, but what can we expect? The democrats and MSM picked him, not the conservatives. There was no true conservative leader, so we are just screwed! Holding my nose and voting for him, because the alternative is just too too scary. BHO is and inexperienced socialist!
- victorypup, on 05/17/2008, -1/+1McAmnesty may prove as Bush has, 'not to be the lesser of evils'. You folks holding your nose to vote for the MSM pick , just go ahead and delude yourself. I have a good idea it's not going to matter who you vote for, this election is bought and paid for, and nothing anybody does short of revolution is going to change it.
- billtorpey, on 05/18/2008, -1/+1
Tell me what I have to say to win the election.
