Jon Stewart reacts to press coverage of Hillary crying watch!
huffingtonpost.com — Jon Stewart reacted to the media circus surrounding Hillary's "emotional breakdown." "That's it? That's the emotional breakdown that blows the election for her? I'm glad no one here ever sees me get a flu shot,"

- hipnerd, on 01/10/2008, -0/+5Thank you, Captain Obvious.
- sanman, on 01/11/2008, -2/+5Of course she wasn't crying - she was acting.
And now her supporters are playing the gender card.
Obama hasn't played the race card. He's taken the high road.
Hillary, on the other hand... - atdrago, on 01/11/2008, -0/+4that was funny... really...

- fani, on 01/10/2008, -11/+2dugg for use of word : maudlin.
I forgot what it meant and had to look it up. Recall learning it for my GRE. - sgtpppr, on 01/10/2008, -2/+11The media spends most of their time sculpting votes these days whether it be through this story or another. Anderson Cooper spent half the show last night trying to 'explain' why all the media's polls were dead wrong in new hampshire. They had excuses that were so out in left field it was hilarious. Their biggest 'reason' was that white people claimed to want to vote for obama for pollsters, but actually voted for hillary because of hidden racism. At that point, i had to turn it. They never considered that the polls are all made up and they are a means to sculpt voting results. Many people don't have the time to research candidates or are simply too stupid to do it, so they vote for whoever seems to be a 'front runner'. Awful lot of power for the media.
- pintomp3, on 01/11/2008, -0/+3well, what they were referring is known as the bradley effect, it's not some made up phenomenon:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradley_effect
though the most common explanation given was that the last polls were taken sunday, and on monday there was coverage of her "soft moment". funny how the coverage didn't include her attacking barack in the next sentence.

- MaybellineSP, on 01/10/2008, -11/+16This is so absurd. She's not even president yet, and she's already pulling these scams. She should at least wait until she's president before she lies to America. She's going to be even worse than Bush. Lets look at some of the crap she's pulled.
1. She pretends to be emotional to show that she's human, so she can get sympathy from naive women.
2. She and two of her supporters stage a stupid and obvious sexist protest during one of her speeches to look witty, charismatic, and empowered, so naive women will look up to her.
3. She has all these ad hominem arguments about Obama, to convince the ignorant people of America that a Muslim/smoker/man/African American is incapable of being a competent president.
4. She has her people make indirect threats of a possible assassination of Obama if he were to be elected, and then condemns their actions, to make it seem as if her people had no part in it.
5. She must've had some hand in the NH vote rigging.
6. She uses her husbands reputation to get the support of the many voters who loved him as President, who assume that she'll be just like him, when in reality, her policies are most similar to Bush's than Bill Clinton's.
It just keeps on going. Tomorrow, she'll probably pull some other scam to get people to support her.- Vertex01, on 01/10/2008, -9/+6I think it's funny that 50% of the people that hate Hillary are conspiracy theorists with no actual reasons to hate her, and the other 50% just get all their information from Fox News...
- michaelb1, on 01/10/2008, -6/+2She certainly does attract the nutjobs. I don't get it. WTF did she do to them?
- elrodge, on 01/11/2008, -1/+1i think its funny that you needed a calculator to come up with fictional calculations
- biotch, on 01/10/2008, -3/+3yeah ,,, including diggers.
People on digg blew this WAY out of proportion. - hipnerd, on 01/10/2008, -5/+1The two sexist "protesters" were actually "wacky DJs" from the Toucher & Rich Show on a Boston radio station -- not affiliated with Hillary's campaign. They've done many of these type of pranks before.
There is no evidence that the NH primary was rigged, much less that Hillary had anything to do with a nefarious plot. The Diebold machines may very well be inaccurate, but lets wait for proof before making accusations.
Hillary is not my favorite candidate, (I like Kucinich) but your list of reasons shows deep bias against her.- sanman, on 01/11/2008, -2/+2If they were wacky DJs, then the press should have reported the nature of their stunt before people went to the polls. There may have been votes needlessly influenced by people being suckered into believing that Hillary was the victim of a sexist attack. Yes, I'd call that rigging or engineering a particular type of outcome.
How come there were no "wacky DJs" dressing up in white hoods and heckling Obama? Funny how all the "wackiness" seems to veer in a particular direction, to skew things towards a particular candidate. American politics is dirty, and an outsider like Obama doesn't have a chance against those "wacky" (read: dirty) stuntsmen.

- Daiken, on 01/11/2008, -0/+3I agree people are reading too much into this. Their hatred for Hilary is causing them to delude themselves into thinking this is some sign of weakness or something. She seemed honestly sincere and it's one of the few times I can say that about any politician (cept Ron Paul). Unfortunately it's not just the media attacking her, it's average haters like the ones on Digg. I saw the comments a lot of people posted and everyone is calling it a scam or something. Sheesh people, the only reason anyone notices is cause the media is putting it on the front page. If it's supposed to be a scam, then everyone who hates her is turning it into a success.
- j1ggy, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1Okay honestly, I just watched that video and that is a little emotion, yes. Which is well, normal.. But I see that as a good thing, if someone is showing emotion that shows sincerety. I'd rather see that than the ridiculous act Bush puts on, it's like he's one of Jim Henson's muppets I swear.
- sublimer, on 01/10/2008, -94/+13If I saw the video of her being "upset" without all the hype behind it, I wouldn't have thought anything about it.
That video just proves how much of a bipolar loony she is, I don't want a "sympathizer" in office, because then she'll get all mushy with Osama and Musharraf and Chavez and terrorism.
What a nut job!- norman619, on 01/10/2008, -2/+38I'm not a Clinton supporter but...

- golfguy2788, on 01/10/2008, -1/+28Guiliani sucks so hard.
- slapded, on 01/10/2008, -3/+18i still dont know how he beat paul in NH
- jjesusfreak01, on 01/10/2008, -0/+13Quite interestingly, he lost to Paul in the hand-counted vote, but won in the Diebold vote. Now, I am not claiming fraud, because you would have to do a comparison of how well Giuliani was doing in the non-Diebold precincts vs the Diebold precints before the election to get an idea of whether the Diebold results were consistent with the polling, or way off.
- Fairly, on 01/10/2008, -3/+3Giuliani not only sucks hard he sucks more than one. Way more. Giuliani goes down to the Bowery at night and blows the homeless.
- Managua8Green, on 01/10/2008, -10/+2wait... suck what? a penis? a human male penis? and if so, whose penis will receive the sucking? How do we delegate such responsibility to any human sexual organ? We are not gods here, so let us not pretend to be.

- FadieZ, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1mmm...bagel...
- astrosmash, on 01/10/2008, -5/+3What Giuliani is doing may seem stupid, but it will get him the nomination. Republicans eat that stuff up like it's candy.

Thanks.
- cusoman, on 01/11/2008, -0/+4Yo. Registered Republican here... can't stand him, would NEVER vote for him.

- sigginike90, on 01/11/2008, -6/+1If "Hahah, the end of that video" = "win". Then instead of writing win i could write: "Hahah, the end of that video". "Hahah, the end of that video" != "win".

- iPissExcellence, on 01/10/2008, -33/+8What fox news really wanted was to tell she was faking (which is obvious that she did). But that would be kinda mean even for fox, so they decided to do this tactic instead.
- SemiSarcastic, on 01/10/2008, -1/+6In a way that is true.
- 30somethinDad, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2Umm FOX is a Hillary supporter... mmmmmk?
Rupert has funneled a lot of money to her campaign. - Vertex01, on 01/10/2008, -0/+4I don't see how everyone seems to 'know' that she was faking, and it was 'sooooooo obvious.' How the hell would you all know what she's feeling?!? And at least she's upfront with her policies, unlike Huckabee and Paul (well he may be upfront but it seems like he has loads of supporters who are ignorant of them).
- ambiguus, on 01/10/2008, -23/+7Weak, didn't even show the part where she had to stop and take a pause to recompose herself. Daily show still rules though

- Wargalas, on 01/10/2008, -1/+1And the things about Democrats are complete lies? Oh that's right, it's all a "vast right wing conspiracy".
Everyone asks people to "look it up" but ignore their own failings from within their own Democratic party because it's convenient and it gives them a feeling of self importance. Save your hypocritical ***** for someone who might be dumb enough to believe it.

- Vertex01, on 01/10/2008, -4/+3There's some much irrational and blind hatred of Hillary, it's sad. She's the only candidate with enough experience to rejuvenate the nation that the republicans screwed up. (and that's based more on fact than blind hatred)
- sHockz, on 01/10/2008, -13/+132i still have yet to meet a legitimate Hillary supporter, someone I can speak with about her stances on issues.
Although, I have met 10,000 people who have no idea what Hillary stands for or her stance on anything.- rootnik, on 01/10/2008, -8/+25I really like her health care package that fines people who can not afford to pay for health care. Thats what these Americans need... even less money to spend on doctor appointments.
- vade79, on 01/10/2008, -2/+15This is what gets me, this is her only real main expereince, health care--and she failed at it. Expectedly failed, given the time and opposition, but failed none-the-less. She is polarizing to a person even like myself who has mostly democratic views on things. If democrats get her nominated they deserve the risk of losing the primaries they are opening...which would be an impressive level of ***** your party up even more, when i thought it wasn't possible. There's a choice of a fresh guy with no baggage(and better speaker) and a failed woman who acts like the neo-cons do...doesn't make sense to me why one would vote for her.
- shupy, on 01/10/2008, -5/+1Makes no sense to you because you know very little other than what you see on TV.
- vade79, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1This has little to do with what i "know" or you "know". This is public opinion of a person, and an illogical move for a democratic affiliated person to nominate when there is a more likable version without the disdain of the other. You don't seem to "know" very much if you can't see this.
- shupy, on 01/10/2008, -5/+1Makes no sense to you because you know very little other than what you see on TV.
- bowiestyle, on 01/10/2008, -5/+14Can you give a source of hillary's healthcare package that fines those who can't afford to pay for health care. I would like to look into that.
- rootnik, on 01/10/2008, -0/+15My only source is the ABC debate last weekend. Obama questioned her health care plan. Instead of denying it, she attacked his plan.
- somespecial, on 01/10/2008, -1/+1Candidates can all have healthcare packages, and other issues, they can not control, (part of politics) but they are not appointed for insurance. The states are. She is, and most candidates, are intellectually challenged when it comes to insurance.
- shupy, on 01/10/2008, -1/+1There is not proof, that is not part of the plan.
Question: if you are offered health care plans with prices based on income, and if what you pay is also tax deductible.(Note the BASED ON INCOME part) How do you propose we deal with people who refuse to take care of themselves and end up in the ER? Should we take care of them?
Now those who have little or no income fall into Medicaid, we aren't talking about the indigent or those below poverty level.
- vade79, on 01/10/2008, -2/+15This is what gets me, this is her only real main expereince, health care--and she failed at it. - vade79, on 01/10/2008, -0/+3No...I didn't, people say ***** like that, hard to take it as sarcasm...one of the few times a /sarcasm tag woulda helped :/
- Houndstooth, on 01/10/2008, -1/+8You did realize I was being sarcastic, right?
- ypSami, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2I highly recommend a "/sarcasm" at the end of any political sarcasm on Digg.
- norman619, on 01/10/2008, -3/+1535 years of experience doing what?
- Sabarok, on 01/10/2008, -8/+3Bush & Cheney have just gotten themselves 8 more years of experience. The longer they stay there, the better they get at getting what they want. All Clinton's experience has taught her is how to get votes and donations. Really, what the pundits mean when they say "experienced" and "inexperienced", is someone who is inexperienced still believes it's possible to change the system. Someone who is experienced is someone who has been broken down and learned to work the system.
- rowjimmy, on 01/10/2008, -0/+6is there a single politician who actually has a chance of winning that has even one well-defined policy on anything except retarded "divisive" issues (abortion, gay marriage, etc) that keep people jabbering about moral nonsense instead of governance?
- FadieZ, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2I think it just comes down to whoever uses the word "change" most often during the campaign.
- ypSami, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1No. Get used to it; it's not going to change.
- Navicerts, on 01/10/2008, -2/+5I work with a old lady who admitted to me she voted for Hillary. I asked her why and she said that she agreed with what she said. When i asked her specifically what she agreed with it was something along the lines of "we need change" and "i'm really worried about this country". I can't make this ***** up, that's the real reason she voted for HC. I then asked about HC policy and in return got a blank stare, followed by a "I don't think she will get us out of Iraq, but no one else will either". I TOLD this lady about Ron Paul weeks before the primary, and informed her that he would indeed get us out of Iraq and practically begged her to go online and check out some videos of RP speaking.
- michaelb1, on 01/10/2008, -1/+7if by some miracle Ron Paul was elected he would not get anything done. Just like he hasn't done anything as a congressman.
- ZPWeeks, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1Yeah. I like the guy, but if he actually got the presidency, he would just become a roadblock to progress by vetoing just about everything under the sun. I love his principles, but I think that with him as the executive branch, we'd turn into Mexico. I think he would make a MUCH better leading legislator or supreme court justice.
- michaelb1, on 01/10/2008, -1/+7if by some miracle Ron Paul was elected he would not get anything done. Just like he hasn't done anything as a congressman.
- tim710, on 01/10/2008, -1/+0I also dont know what hillary stands for, her stance on anything, or any of the things that she stands to support. Also, I don't know her stance.
you made it seem like you had 2 points, and also it was like there were multiple points made by you- shupy, on 01/10/2008, -1/+1If you don't know anything, it is because you choose not to know
- MaTT2011, on 01/10/2008, -2/+6Heres one of Hillary's retarded ideas: Government regulation of video games equal to that of tobacco/porn/booze.

Doesn't this just illustrate an immense amount of stupidity on this candidates part? the answer is yes. - shupy, on 01/10/2008, -11/+5I don't believe you have met or spoken to 10,000 people. Second: Hillary's main positions are-- Pass the Employee Free Choice Act so that unions can organize for fair wages and safe working conditions. Appoint a trade enforcement officer within the office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) The Bush administration has not enforced our trade agreements. Expand the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program to cover service workers. Today, workers who produce a service rather than a product are ineligible for TAA. That’s everyone from call-center operators to help desk personnel and technical support. TAA wills also cover all workers whose plants have moved abroad. Workers are currently ineligible for if their plants relocated to countries with which we have not signed free trade or trade preferences agreements. This means that when plants shift from America to low-wage countries like India and China, laid-off workers are ineligible for TAA for job training. She will increase tax credit on COBRA payments to 90% from the current 65%. And for laid-off workers without access to COBRA, she will allow them to use the HCTC to buy into the Federal Employees Health Benefit Plan (FEHBP). Level the playing field when it comes to taxing the income earned in investment partnerships. Right now, Wall Street investment managers making $50 million a year are taxed at a rate of 15% on their earned income – while someone making $50,000 a year pays 25%. Hillary's first official actions would be to convene the Joint Chiefs of Staff, her Secretary of Defense, and her National Security Council. She would direct them to draw up a clear, viable plan to bring our troops home starting with the first 60 days of her Administration. She would also direct the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs to prepare a comprehensive plan to provide quality health care and benefits to every service member -- including every member of the National Guard and Reserves -- and their families. Create a $50 billion Strategic Energy Fund, paid for in part by oil companies, to fund investments in alternative energy. The SEF will finance one-third of the $150 billon ten-year investment in a new energy future contained in this plan Enact a new GI Bill of Rights for the 21st century that will resurrect the spirit of the original 1944 GI Bill and offer service members, veterans and their families with expanded education, housing and entrepreneurial benefits. Her plan will guarantee equal access for all components of the Armed Forces - Active, Guard and Reserve - that have deployed overseas in support of a combat operation since September 11 or served two years of active duty since September 11. Hillary has pushed for a more robust response to the violence in Darfur since May 2004. She has raised the issue with the Bush administration and pushed for more resources for peacekeeping efforts. Strengthen equal pay laws and end pay disparities between men and women. She introduced the Paycheck Fairness Act to strengthen the penalties associated with wage discrimination, to ensure that the federal government sets a higher standard, and to increase oversight of employers. She championed the Prevention First Act, which expands access to family planning services for low-income women, requires health insurance companies to cover contraception, and provides a dedicated funding stream for age-appropriate, medically accurate, comprehensive sex education. She helped pass the Family and Medical Leave Act and helped found the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancies, which established and achieved a goal of reducing teen pregnancies by one-third between 1996 and 2005. (Under the Bush “abstinence” education initiative, teen pregnancies are on the rise for the first time in a decade.) Hillary’s 10-point plan to restore Americans' confidence in their government: -Banning Cabinet officials from lobbying -Strengthening whistleblower protections. -Ending abuse of no-bid government contracts and posting all contracts online. -Cutting 500,000 government contractors. -Restoring the Office of Technology Assessment. -Publishing budgets for every government agency. -Implementing Results America Initiative to track government effectiveness. -Tracking and eliminating corporate welfare. She has introduced the Count Every Vote Act to avoid repeating the problems of the past and ensure the integrity of our elections. Her bill: -Provides a paper trail for every vote cast. -Designates Election Day as a national holiday. -Allows same-day registration. -Makes sure that impartial officials administer our elections. -Allows the attorney general to bring suit against anyone using deceptive practices (like distributing flyers with incorrect information about voter eligibility) to keep voters from voting. That should help you out of your hole of ignorance.

The SEF will finance one-third of the $150 billon ten-year investment in a new energy future contained in this plan
Enact a new GI Bill of Rights for the 21st century that will resurrect the spirit of the original 1944 GI Bill and offer service members, veterans and their families with expanded education, housing and entrepreneurial benefits. Her plan will guarantee equal access for all components of the Armed Forces - Active, Guard and Reserve - that have deployed overseas in support of a combat operation since September 11 or served two years of active duty since September 11.

Shift the course 2 degrees to the left bosun, but steady as she goes.
If you squint you can see the puppet strings. kinda looks like bush in a wig don't you think?
Seriously, America has two major problems that will result in its economic demise sometime this century.
Number 1 is that 2/3 of the budget is spent on the military. A defense force may be nessecary, but its certainly not twice as important as everything else in the country put together.
Number 2 is that all income tax is spent paying off the federal reserve. How is any country ment to survive if it can't even spend its own tax dollars?
Those two issues are absolutely critical to the long term survival of america, and yet the entire race seems to be focused on moral and circumstancial issues.
America is on its last legs people, the military contractors and banks have got their fangs in and they are bleeding the country dry. If something isn't done YESTERDAY, then the whole country is headed for the most devastating economic and social collapse seen in its history. and when america falls, the rest of the free world will fall too.
Freedom is thrown around far too liberally in politics today. But True freedom, freedom from harsh oppression and indentured servitude, is on the line here. In america and the rest of the world. History is afoot, and if you think a revised trade agreement, increased airport security or a public holiday are good enough reasons to elect someone, then... in the truest sense of every word.
God Help Us All.

It takes it from the personal perspective but then goes from there. His next book, A New Earth, continues on that thread too. I think things are going to get a lot worse before they get better and that is how the universe creates and destroys things over and over. The old must die for the new to arrive. And so our global human insanity must die. What rises from the ashes will be something to see.
The worse things get now, the closer the end is in sight and the closer the New will arrive.

- mondokoosh737, on 01/11/2008, -1/+1Down here in Texas it's the opposite. Just saying the name "Hillary" causes everyone to explode into a violent rage, stuff like "I'm going to move out of the country if she gets elected" and "She needs to go die". Most of them don't hate democrats, they just hate her. Then I ask if they even know what any of her positions are, and they have no idea, they just randomly hate her. I'm not a Hillary supporter, but you have to have at least one reason for hating a candidate.
- jjmckay, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1Maybe its precisely because they don't know her positions that they dislike her. She comes across to me as paternal in a motherly way and I find that rather repugnant from a politician. Ron Paul, however, has a clear and concise stance on the issues and is humble and respectful. What has Hillary done for America? Ron Paul stands against our runaway, rampant federal excess and waste. Hillary stands for what? Liberalism? That's not enough for me.
She seems to be a granstanding attention whore with ambitions for power. That sounds like any power hungry psycho leader over the long course of history including GW Bush.

- steveran, on 01/10/2008, -66/+4How will we be judged by other nations of the world for:
1. Spending $1,000,000,000,000 to get rid of Sadam HUSSEIN
2. Spending another $2,000,000,000 to put Barak HUSSEIN in our highest office?
Remember, according to Islam law, if the father is Muslim, then the son is Muslim.
And in the eyes of Muslims worldwide, Barak Hussein IS a Muslim despite what ordinary people in this country believe.
Our country is in the midst of major economic decline right now, one that is only partly reflected in the state of the current recession. This is a dangerous trend that is already having negative impact on the allocation and distribution of investment money, a critical resource that fuels our scientific and technology progress, the lifeblood of our nation.
Do you really want to give our economic engine to someone who has never been responsible for more than 50 employees and has never been responsible for more than $10 million?
Would it not be wiser to support the only administration that has given our great nation the ONLY NATIONAL BUDGET SURPLUS in the last 40 years, and the largest one in history. Note that the Clintons are also responsible for the LONGEST peace time economic expansion in US history.
http://clinton4.nara.gov/textonly/WH/Work/040299.h ...
All smack talk aside, you cannot ignore the real possibility that we will be made the laughing stock of the world. The economic troubles we face, coupled with the all-time-low in the eyes of our global peers and competitors, we have no room for games. Barak wants to play fair? He wants to change the party system? He wants to invite scrutiny? Then he should start by making his own change: put his real middle name in all media references, just like Hillary Rodham Clinton does.
I do not want to see us go backwards, economically, scientifically, technologically, or as a humanitarian nation.
You decide.

Say that about hillary, because the record books and donation paper trail say the opposite. - terminal157, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2If any country or individual judges us based on the coincidence of a surname and a middle name being the same, they are unbearably stupid and should be diligently ignored by anyone with half a brain.
- homerang, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2"...you cannot ignore the real possibility that we will be made the laughing stock of the world."
I'm sorry, but aren't we already? - lougoose, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1Has no one noticed this is the 3rd or 4th time Steve has posted the EXACT same comment on many different articles?
- Haecceity, on 01/11/2008, -0/+3This guy has posted the exact same comment on nine occasions so far. I don't even think he's a Hillary supporter -- just a troll.
- PhairOh, on 01/10/2008, -3/+16Does anyone have a link to the full video from that question and answer session? Supposedly, the full video shows Hilary badmouthing Obama about 30 seconds later and when the full video was viewed by focus groups, they had an entirely different opinion of the situation. I'd be interested in seeing the full video, myself.
- tjanssen85, on 01/10/2008, -0/+8If McCain drives the Straight Talk Express, why doesn't Guliani drive a 9/11 fire truck?
- Double0Doug, on 01/10/2008, -0/+10Because the NYFD won't give him a ride?
- buddypriefert, on 01/10/2008, -6/+2YEP - and the part that they show is NOT where she is doing the crying (about 15 seconds later).
- michaelb1, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2False
- bizchris, on 01/10/2008, -0/+1I don't, but I did see it at the time - that's exactly how it went.
- tjanssen85, on 01/10/2008, -0/+8If McCain drives the Straight Talk Express, why doesn't Guliani drive a 9/11 fire truck?
- teejaay, on 01/10/2008, -2/+22Thats exactly what I thought when I saw the headline that she had broke down and cried. I felt the same way as John here after seeing it had been blown way out of proportion.
- buddypriefert, on 01/10/2008, -10/+2No, the clip that John shows is NOT where she breaks down. Total loss of credibility on Johns/CC part.
- teejaay, on 01/10/2008, -0/+6Still there's no big tears like what was implied by all the headlines.
- biotch, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2that was as bad as it got though.
- buddypriefert, on 01/10/2008, -10/+2No, the clip that John shows is NOT where she breaks down. Total loss of credibility on Johns/CC part.
- bubbles19518, on 01/10/2008, -26/+7Why can't a women be president?
...We'd have a nuclear war (or in this case, an invasion of a country) once a month.- Double0Doug, on 01/10/2008, -0/+4HA HA HA... Shut up!
- terminal157, on 01/10/2008, -0/+1I'm as sexist as the next guy, but no, we wouldn't. A woman could make a fine President. Hillary wouldn't, but a woman theoretically could.
- scroobyrooberoo, on 01/10/2008, -19/+2Actually, if you look at all the things Jon Stewart says about Hillary, he has a very very negative attitude towards her generally. He also loves Barack Obama. This is why I stopped watching the Daily Show. Its not so much poking fun at politics and news anymore, it's more about Jon espousing his viewpoints, like hahaha..., Bill O, Lou Dobbs and the like.
- davesawyer, on 01/10/2008, -1/+85Dugg for the absolutely outrageous comment by Giuliani at the end

- j.carcinogen, on 01/10/2008, -9/+4They didnt show the part where she started to cry. They obviously like Clinton.
- buddypriefert, on 01/10/2008, -6/+1THANK YOU! So blantantly cut the part where she really was breaking down. Shows how people only want to show/see what's on their agenda. They have a point to prove and manipulate cuts to prove it.
- LordKaT, on 01/10/2008, -1/+2Uh, have you left our lil blue planet, sir? It's a comedy show. Comedy is 90% situation, and when the situation doesn't exist, you create it.
- Lavarock, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2Yeah, but still. They unfortunately have credibility, even though they have said in the distant past that it's fake, people don't realize the extent to which it is fake.
- jjesusfreak01, on 01/10/2008, -0/+1Its not their fault that they have credibility.
- altinnovation, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2Actually I watched the full and I didn't see no crying.
- lintmonkey, on 01/10/2008, -2/+2So you saw crying, then.
- michaelb1, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2perhaps you could post a link to the video where she cries. Didn't think so.
- deflective, on 01/10/2008, -0/+4you didn't show it either
- j.carcinogen, on 01/10/2008, -0/+1Here you go ***** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhFxE6QJWjE
And yes its as fake as she is.- PoeticExplosion, on 01/10/2008, -0/+5Nice move, calling your opponents assholes. That always shows that you're right!
I've watched the clip a couple times. I don't think any part of it is significantly more emotional than the part Jon Stewart showed, so which part are you talking about?- j.carcinogen, on 01/10/2008, -0/+1I admit I shouldn't have called him an *****. I just said that in haste because I was upset that someone assumed I have to show proof of something that they should already know if they didn't get their news from Comedy Central. BTW I don't think of him as an opponent, I don't even know what he stands for or anything.
I apologize deflective. - deflective, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2glad i kept reading. flame off.
we could use more of this kind of courage in internet forums.
yes, i've seen the whole clip. no, i still don't see it. if this is crying then apparently i'm a guy that cries at movies.
- j.carcinogen, on 01/10/2008, -0/+1I admit I shouldn't have called him an *****. This is supposedly the whole clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhFxE6QJWjE
She is pretty much at the same emotional level the whole clip, so what part do you call "crying"? And if it's before or after that clip, give us a link.
- buddypriefert, on 01/10/2008, -6/+1THANK YOU! So blantantly cut the part where she really was breaking down. Shows how people only want to show/see what's on their agenda. They have a point to prove and manipulate cuts to prove it.
- itchcity, on 01/10/2008, -10/+3the Daily Show would be 100 times more watchable if the audience would shut the ***** up so Stewart could have some room to come off less smug and annoying
- innocentsinner, on 01/10/2008, -1/+2digg me down
- terminal157, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2Stewart has actually said he wishes his studio audience was more diverse, and that he doesn't like how disrespectful they can be of some of his conservative guests. You can see him get annoyed with the audience during interviews pretty frequently, especially when they boo someone down from making their point, though he's always careful not to offend.
- nova9, on 01/10/2008, -11/+7She showed a human side to the public hardly sees or notices. She was portrated being too effeicent/calculating before. It's all good.
- senatorpjt, on 01/10/2008, -1/+6Yes, her calculated effort to appear human was efficient.
- TomJohn, on 01/10/2008, -0/+3Hillary proved she's a lousy enough actor to qualify for the White House.
- ZenMojo, on 01/10/2008, -10/+5I felt sympathetic to Hillary. Then I realized she's a hawkish fiscal conservative and I rolled my eyes and moved on.
- JuCee, on 01/10/2008, -1/+4Hawkish, sure, but she's not a fiscal conservative. That's not at all true.
- terminal157, on 01/10/2008, -0/+3I didn't feel sympathetic. Millions of people who aren't in the position financially and socially to run for President have tougher times than that every day just trying to afford the rent. Where's the public sympathy for them? Hillary can go back to her mansion and cry into her piles of money.
- milican, on 01/10/2008, -0/+3Yeah, dude because hawkish fiscal conservatives want to enact government healthcare and give away $5,000 to each baby born. If she was a fiscal conservative I would consider voting for her. Maybe some fiscal conservative out there could help us figure out how to pay for our social security when the ***** hits the fan in less than 10-years. I can think of only one Presidential candidate that would do this and it ain't Hillary.

The whole clip for those interested.- bruce86, on 01/10/2008, -1/+1can you give a time in the video where the tears are falling?
- kurtergad87, on 01/10/2008, -0/+5Apart from her voice cracking up once in the middle of the video, there is no 'emotional breakdown' in my opinion. She sounds passionate, but that's to be expected. The only thing it shows is she isn't a robot, but neither is Bush.
Of course she believes at some level that what she is doing is right. Otherwise imagine how it would feel to be nothing but a shell for lobbyist interest. You'd have no real power and be ridiculed by the press; for what? Nothing someone else couldn't do.
Either a person such as Hillary and the other candidates believe that the money from (and thus dependence on) lobbyist groups are right and just, or they believe that some issue, any issue, can justify having to compromise with your ideals with everything else.- FadieZ, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2Or she could just be faking the whole ***** thing. Meh, depends on how you look at it.
- feckineejit, on 01/10/2008, -0/+31man I'm so 9/11 about this video, on the one hand I'm 9/11 but then I think I could easily 9/11 until at least 9:11.
- uberchaoslord, on 01/10/2008, -4/+15Wow I used to think lawyers were the worst form of human life, but now I'm starting to think its the newsmedia. That was a slight upturn of emotion on her part, and they're blowing it out of proportion. Glad I'm not american and dont have to deal with that crap. Canada's voting is easy: if you live in the east, you vote liberal, if you live in the west you vote conservative, if you live in quebec you vote bloc quebecois. makes our lives easy!
- Linegod, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2Or, you vote NDP. Or you vote Green Party. Or you vote for an Independent. And on and on.

He wasn't saying it blew her election, he was saying that the analysts, elsewhere, suggesting it blew her election were morons.- charlie55, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1the media didnt suggest that. in fact the stories i read suggested the crying humanized her and helped her out.
- linsaui, on 01/11/2008, -0/+3Also, the Daily show tapes at like 5 o'clock in the evening, so there's a pretty good chance that he had no idea that Hillary did well and was more making a comment about the way the news was covering it prematurely. Just a thought.
Even if that is not the case and it was taped after the results were in... I'm not sure how you could call him 'smug' when clearly it was not a reaction to Hillary, but to the reporters who were declaring that this little display of emotion would ruin things for her. Pretty sure Jon just analyzed the situation better than you.
