John McCain's Identity Crisis
politicususa.com — In two weeks John McCain shifted from the belief that the government should not provide bailouts to anyone to now saying that more money should be spent to help struggling homeowners. It is well known that McCain doesn ’t know much about the economy, but he seems caught between his maverick image and courting the base of the Republican Party.

- jforjools, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1Plus I think McCain's "HOME" plan sucks (although it's better than his previous plan of "nothing".) Interestingly, he's giving a 'big govt' solution...requiring applications to be created and processed. The real intersting thing is how the nasty subprime lenders get let off the hook, as the govt will now assume the risk of these refinanced loans. Under the Dem plan, bankruptcy courts are used (in place of applications being processed by a whole new slew of people) and the crappy lenders still have to keep their loans (but for the actual martket value of the home.)
Yes, it sounds like McCain's plan--besides being slapped together quick when his first 'plan' was so poorly received--is also designed to benefit big business. - jboitnott, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1As usual you point me to an excellent article that helps me continue to form my political views. Thanks cap.
