Eating A Reuben Amidst A Crowd Of Clintonites
huffingtonpost.com — When is a Reuben sandwich not just a Reuben sandwich? When one eats it amidst a denizen of rabidly committed, frequently vitriolic, and unapologetically devoted Hillary Clinton supporters.

- whataboutdave, on 06/01/2008, -9/+50Quit blaming people like this on GOP turncoats. These are Hillary's supporters showing their true colors.
- mikelieman, on 06/01/2008, -2/+2That's where you're wrong.
Hillary Clinton HAS NO SUPPORTERS.
I know *I* ain't the reason she's a Senator from New York.
NEW YORK??? That's when I knew they weren't even counting the votes...- danomagnum, on 06/02/2008, -0/+2I think you underestimate the number of dumbasses in this world.
- mikelieman, on 06/01/2008, -2/+2That's where you're wrong.
- oxdeltaxo, on 06/01/2008, -13/+9My feeling from the start was that Clinton herself was hired by the republicans just to give them a better chance at winning by making the democrats look bad.
- luet, on 06/01/2008, -8/+14NO! Stop thinking like that! This is exactly what McCain WANTS to happen to the democratic party! Obama, the democratic nominee (don't pretend like he's not going to get it...) wants to UNITE the democratic party (and the republican party but that's another issue). This is SEPARATING it. The more seperated the dem. party gets, the more democrats will move to McCain's side. Unite the party!
- jerbaker, on 06/01/2008, -4/+17I don't want these people in the Democratic Party. I don't care if that costs an election. My principles mean more to me than winning an election. I personally am not willing to suspend my beliefs in the interest of winning an election. The nasty, bigoted, loud-mouthed Hillary supporters are not welcome as far as I'm concerned. They have ALWAYS been a problem for the Democratic Party and anything that can be done to get rid of them is a plus in my eyes. My principles come before my desire to win, and that's why I'm different than they are.
- RamsesII, on 06/01/2008, -1/+9Amen brother. That's what this election is about to me, the changing of the guard and hopefully the death of all that 60's division and hatred that's made politics nasty for the last 40 years. Times are changing. Evolve or die.
- skaldicpoet9, on 06/01/2008, -0/+8And the whole "my party" thing is what is causing all of this dissension in our political parties. Why is it blue vs. red, it's like the two political parties are in some sort of gang feud all the time. This exactly what is driving this country apart. To unite a country it takes everyone, even the crazy people.
- scott88008, on 06/01/2008, -0/+6It seems like the two party system is a contrived dichotomy to trick people into thinking they have a choice. No independent thinker would ever be allowed to represent either party.
- MWeather, on 06/01/2008, -0/+6"Principles mean more to me than winning an election"
Then why do you vote Democrat? Surely one of the scores of third parties more closely fits your principles. And since losing the election isn't something that will make you compromise your principles, there's no reason for you to not vote third party. - jerbaker, on 06/01/2008, -2/+2I don't "vote Democrat." I vote for whom I like. I voted for Nader the last two elections because the Democrats were engaged in a race to the right with the Republicans. I happen to agree with Obama on almost everything except illegal immigration. I'll vote for him. If it's Hillary, I'll vote for Nader again.
- MWeather, on 06/01/2008, -0/+2What about Obama more closely fits your principles than Nader? They're nothing alike.
- Gerz1219, on 06/01/2008, -1/+1We don't need them in the party. Electoral-vote.com still shows Obama winning, albeit by a slimmer majority than Hillary. Let them become Hillary Republicans. McCain is at so many disadvantages that Obama can cancel out the hysterical McCain-voting turncoats with the new voters he's bringing into the system.

- jeffinfremont, on 06/01/2008, -3/+19I'm more confident that the majority of those people outside the hotel were the same kind of attention-whoring crazies who show up outside a Michael Jackson trial. If they were true party activists, then they would be too involved registering voters and telephoning upcoming states to go stand outside a committee meeting and embarrass their candidate.
I'm an Obama supporter, and I'm glad that virtually everybody honored the official request of the campaign to stay away. They knew that the hillaryis44 crowd would do a sufficient job of shooting themselves in the foot. - kelmaster1, on 06/01/2008, -6/+12No, from the looks of it her main supporters are feminazis
- Tr3mulant, on 06/01/2008, -1/+4These people are crazy. However, there is always a small, vocal, crazy group of people advocating any cause. It only seems serious because they're so loud. I don't think anyone takes them seriously..
- cygnus2112, on 06/01/2008, -1/+2There are small, vocal, crazy groups of people advocating every candidate. Digg is populated mostly by Obama's small, vocal, crazy group who aren't taken very seriously.

You must have missed the memo.
o.o
White is the new black – that is, white women are the new black. Americans are getting sick and tire of the minority politics that are being thrown in our faces – after we spent that last 100 years passing laws to give every possible advantage to anyone who can claim non-white heritage, now we are even extending these privileges to enemy invaders – as some kind of globally unappreciated form of political penance in some vain attempt to obtain absolution from… who, exactly?
o.O
Who are we asking to forgive us, and for what? Please, tell me that we aren't so far gone that we are actually looking to our enemies for forgiveness. We provide more advantages, more benefits and do more good around the world than any other country on the planet and somehow we still feel that we can't allow people of color to succeed on their own merits. The way the liberal media and Democrats have abandoned the woman who was their presumptive nominee, less than six months ago, and turn on her like she had George W. Bush disease in the space of WTF, left the whole country struggling to stop the spinning in our collective craniums long enough figure out who we were really running against.
We always knew libtards were a bit dizzy but this is ridiculous. Even libtards don't agree with what libtards are doing and saying. It looks like the Democrats are going to self destruct.
- whataboutdave, on 06/01/2008, -9/+50Quit blaming people like this on GOP turncoats. These are Hillary's supporters showing their true colors.
- BishkekBuddy, on 06/01/2008, -12/+126This article makes me realize that most of the Clinton supporters are not really Democrats. Truly. I don't think the Democratic Party has anything to worry about because the ones chanting and shouting and passing out the obscenely false literature are indeed Republicans who have invaded in a desperate attempt to have Clinton - who they could beat easily - their opponent in the Fall. Sad, but true. I don't feel any loss now - just glad they'll finally be showing their true colors come the Fall when they're out campaigning for the losing candidate, McCain.
- jeffinfremont, on 06/01/2008, -0/+10I think you're more likely to see that galvanized 5-10% of Clinton supporters will probably just stay home. These are a bunch of people who could not bother to actively campaign for their candidate until it was clear she was losing. Why would they suddenly get active for McCain?
- danomagnum, on 06/02/2008, -0/+15-10% of Clinton supporters have been dipped in hot zinc? No wonder they're so messed up.
- rblancarte, on 06/01/2008, -0/+3The one thing that the article pointed out to me was that - if the nuclear option happened in that Hillary got the nomination via the Super Delegates (w/ Obama winning the pledged delegates), that my thinking in that Hillary would have stolen the vote and then NOT voting would be asinine. There are too many things happening that allowing a continuing republican presence in the White House would be serious trouble.
- abby11, on 06/01/2008, -11/+53This is absolutely sick and distorted thinking.I have a question for anyone, say roles were reversed. What would have happened to Obama?Ill tell you he would have been out.Therefor when anyone brings up fair, think it through .This has been nothing but fair.I am sorry people have become so phsycotic about a loss.Everyone has lost before, and if you have not it plain out sucks. So i leave you with words from Alleya(singer)If first you Dont suceed dust yourself off wait till 2012 and try AGAIN.peace among my fellow Womenista's:)
- jeffinfremont, on 06/01/2008, -1/+8I would suggest that many of these protesters become better affiliated with the rules and bylaws of the Democratic Party. If they were a little better educated about the process, then they could have had a better effect on the outcome.
- magus_melchior, on 06/01/2008, -1/+7Unfortunately, when their candidate encouraged bigotry and indignation under false pretenses, she essentially told them that reason can be chucked out the window. Even if they were better educated, I seriously doubt they would bow out, because Clinton refused to concede even when the delegate count looked really bleak.
I hope that these astroturfers really are a small but insanely vocal minority, because they are now essentially political suicide bombers. If they influence enough people they'll shatter the Democrats' chances in November, and to top it all off, they'll blame Obama. "Because Clinton didn't get to steamroll you like we wanted, it's your fault!"- Aikidi, on 06/01/2008, -0/+5exactly...everyone that says her supporters are uneducated, well,
Hillary is extremely educated, and intelligent. And she still pushed (is pushing) for seats for florida and michigan. She absolutely knows the rules, she agreed to them back in the spring, and she still campaigns for this. How can her followers believe anything different? - ChuyMatt, on 06/01/2008, -0/+4She is working for 2012. She does not care about this race anymore. She is willing to sabotage this election to "prove" her "point" that things would have been better if she were elected.
She is simply showing how selfish and power hungry she is, as anyone who has followed her career could note.
- Aikidi, on 06/01/2008, -0/+5exactly...everyone that says her supporters are uneducated, well,

- livegreenordie, on 06/01/2008, -4/+44 I thought a fist fight was coming! It looked like some of the antics at the British Parliment. He has a long road ahead but remember when he wasn't a front runner? Obama predicted this would happen (increased attacks). Fox is already spinning and upping the propaganda ante. We just need to focus on keeping a clean campaign going and not worry about what the spinners are doing. It is all about the issues and while they are wasting their time trying to make him look bad, we will be promoting the policies that matter to us the most. Iraq, environment, election fraud, get out the vote, not falling into the trap of negativity~
- jeffinfremont, on 06/01/2008, -0/+5Keep in mind that McCain's dirty laundry has yet to be aired...and he's got a lot to account for.
- magus_melchior, on 06/01/2008, -1/+1@livegreenordie: Um, not to discourage sound advice, but shouldn't that comment be best posted on one of the forums over on Obama's site?
- queotic, on 06/01/2008, -4/+117Obama is an "inadequate black male," huh? Only running because Hillary is a white female? That's what it all comes down to? How sad - another Geraldine Ferraro who believes Barack is an inferior Affirmative Action candidate.
- brstilson, on 06/01/2008, -1/+34It's wrong to be sexist, but okay to be racist.
- jerbaker, on 06/01/2008, -0/+8I wonder what minority women think about that? Oh yeah, they voted for Obama. I, for one, am glad to purge this cancerous faction of the party. Leave the uneducated white vote for the Republicans. They can have it.
- MasterLevi, on 06/01/2008, -0/+2Now you're getting the hang of it.
- jeffinfremont, on 06/01/2008, -1/+9That lady obviously has a lot of personal issues to sort out. She could use a good therapist.
- rblancarte, on 06/01/2008, -0/+3Yea, that part of her rant was just crazy. She makes it out that Obama only ran because he was on the "Beat Hillary" ticket.
The fact is, both sides of this campaign have a lot of screwballs that only will vote for their candidate. For a time I had this mentality with Obama over Clinton, but I have since realized that either candidate is a hell of a lot better than McCain, even if I don't agree with Hillary's message (or certainly her tactics). - MasterLevi, on 06/01/2008, -2/+2Obama is the one who needs to be on the ticket this coming November. Kick that stupid bitch's ass and then clean up that pile of ***** McCain and throw it out where it belongs.
- orangedude, on 06/02/2008, -0/+3Hillary Clinton, are you prepared to reject and denounce the hateful and racist comments of Harriet Christian?

- morninglorii, on 06/01/2008, -0/+2Seeing things like this makes me ashamed to be a girl. I do believe that, at times, Hillary was treated unfairly by the media, but I also believe Obama was (Wright and the bitter comments), and women like this who refuse to see both sides of it are being nothing but ignorant.
I also understand the emotions behind it (I would love to see a woman president), but being fanatical and about it damages women as a group. Biology should play no role in the choice for president, and this blind fanaticism for Hillary is as wrong as the sexism against her.

- sulthernao, on 06/01/2008, -0/+14Yep. They can't even elect Bill Clinton so what the hell is the point of that comparison?
- ByteGuerilla, on 06/01/2008, -0/+23I liked this one the best. "[Obama] is a socialist! You know what the Nazi Party was before it was the Nazi Party? It was the Socialist Party." Way to miss the point, Captain Myopia.
- magus_melchior, on 06/01/2008, -0/+9The irony, of course, is that Clinton essentially has her most ardent followers in as much of a frenzy without reason or logic as Hitler had his.
- DephexTwin, on 06/01/2008, -0/+9The other irony was that the Nazi party's socialist aspects were only around BEFORE Hitler came in, took over the party, and made it into a party about expansion, racial purity, and anti-semitism. Once that change happened, the party was *persecuting* socialists.
(This isn't even getting into the fact that most Europeans would double over with laughter at the idea of Obama or any mainstream American politician being a socialist.)- Aikidi, on 06/01/2008, -3/+1a socialist setting records for raising money
- ByteGuerilla, on 06/12/2008, -0/+1The irony I was going for was the reason that the National Socialists called themselves that was to capture the worker's vote. Even under Hitler it was the National German Worker's Party, as it was before. No totalitarianism could come to power unless it is empowered by the proletariat, or the result of overwhelming invasion. Once the power was secured, socialism was persecuted, as you say.
One of the reasons Hitler had the leaders of the Sturm Abteilung executed before he remodelled the SA as the SS (Schutz Staffel) was because the SA's leaders were socialists, believed Hitler's misguiding socialist rhetoric, and became socialist mouthpieces for their subordinates. Hitler needed to keep his secret police nationalist, so that they would perform the role he needed them to (Lenin called them 'special bodies of armed men': the well-trained, pledged militarists who would be the violent arm with which the submission of the people would be assured).
- adeadwaffle, on 06/01/2008, -0/+2and her policies seem more socialist than Obama's policies.

- FatLoser, on 06/01/2008, -36/+8Buried for Huffington Post. IMHO once a single website gets XX front pages it should be banned from submission. If anybody wants to find out what Politico or Huffington Post have to say about something, they should visit the respective website.

- Zarokima, on 06/01/2008, -4/+12Ban it just because it's popular? That makes perfect sense!
- dexter411, on 06/01/2008, -3/+1Ban it because it's a partisan, non-informative Obama masturbate-a-thon. It's like "Oh man, another great Keith-O commentary!" hitting the front page again.
- dinot, on 06/01/2008, -1/+3An article reporting on the madness of those Clinton supporters is now considered an Obama masturbate-a-thon? That would be true only if there were Obama supporters there acting equally as rowdy. But by all accounts, it was just the Clinton supporters.
I guess you would be happier to not see anything that makes your chosen candidate look bad. There's a word for that. It's called bias. - dexter411, on 06/02/2008, -0/+1To be clear, the only person I like less than Obama is Clinton. Irregardless, it really makes Digg look stupid for there to be three Huffington Post articles making it to the front page everyday (low-quality writing notwithstanding).
- dinot, on 06/01/2008, -1/+3An article reporting on the madness of those Clinton supporters is now considered an Obama masturbate-a-thon? That would be true only if there were Obama supporters there acting equally as rowdy. But by all accounts, it was just the Clinton supporters.

- GroundhogBoy, on 06/01/2008, -3/+102Does anyone else think that these women are doing a complete disservice to their gender at this point? So much for breaking through the glass ceiling. More like making it double paned.
- NotedFuturist, on 06/01/2008, -3/+1Women are as women do.
- msjentay, on 06/01/2008, -3/+106Hillary is to blame for planting this sexist argument into their heads; it was a false argument that she used solely for her own benefit. She planted the idea that "gender-bias is the reason I'm not winning" into a few empty heads and they'll spew it all the way to the general election. The irony here is that a president Obama is more likely to have their best interests in mind while a President H.Clinton would be consumed with back room deals and manipulating the political landscape for her own benefit. She should really be ashamed for enraging people with a false argument but what can you expect from a woman who let it slip that she was waiting for her opponent to be killed so she could step in. Luckily for us, Pelosi is one woman who's got Hillary's number.
- actorboy, on 06/01/2008, -0/+17Wish I could +10 you.

- breakerbum, on 06/02/2008, -0/+1msjentay is a ma'am
- SkittlesUSA, on 06/01/2008, -10/+2So she planted the "gender-bias is the reason I'm not winning." Again, the hypocriticalness on Digg. Every time Clinton wins a state all you guys talk about is how white and racist everybody in that state is, so that's why she won.
There was a whole front page article on it talking about how West Virginia is racist and that's why Clinton won.
It seems to me you guys plant the "race-bias is the reason Obama has lost some states."- DephexTwin, on 06/01/2008, -0/+4So why did she win overwhelmingly there and not in other places? Because West Virginia is just so non-sexist compared to the rest of the US?
- kyyled, on 06/01/2008, -0/+1"Again the hypocritcalness on Digg."
Yeesh. Again with the notsogoodatenglish-ness on Digg.
Oh, and by the way, West Virginia is a time machine to 1947.

- SheilaNoya, on 06/01/2008, -4/+90If I was a Hillary supporter, I think I'd be more embarrassed than mad, after watching how Hillary's crowd acted during the meeting.
Who would possibly want to be associated with that low class group, or the type of idiotic behavior they displayed? There's a huge difference between being energized supporters, and acting like total assholes. Their dumb stunts and divisive behavior is exactly what the Republicans wanted to happen so everyone could see it on live T.V.
Hillary helped stir up this hatred and division. She had better get her ass busy trying to fix it now. If not, her political future in the Democratic party is OVER.- brstilson, on 06/01/2008, -2/+5I'm willing to bet that some of the really loud ones were actually Republican operatives.
- Vironex, on 06/01/2008, -0/+1That's a little too clever.
- brstilson, on 06/01/2008, -2/+5I'm willing to bet that some of the really loud ones were actually Republican operatives.
- dn11, on 06/01/2008, -3/+41So disturbing to see how much race plays into all of this. If Hillary was being beat by a white man would they be so desperate to tear him down? I can just imagine how offended and disappointed Obama's white mother would be if she had lived to see these disgusting examples of racism and pseudo-feminism gone wrong. She is of the same generation, or older than many of these "older white woman voters" yet she seems to have been more evolved than them some 40+ years ago.
- carpespasm, on 06/01/2008, -0/+9actually if obama were white then there would likely be even more claims of sexism in the vote since there wouldn't be the issue of race to have to worry about. They could milk it dry without worrying about being seen as sexist or racist since obviously a man can't be discriminated against, especially not a white man. Everyone should be viewed (not just counted) as equal to everyone else. Anything less had better have good scientific evidence to back up it's *****.
- dn11, on 06/01/2008, -0/+5I'm not sure about that. If they were running against a Biden or a John Edwards at this point, they would have a hard time with that whole "electability" (that despite Obama being ahead of Hillary in every national poll) and "affirmative action" argument they keep trying to use. Some of these woman clearly aren't ready to see a black man become president before a white woman
- SpikeLee, on 06/01/2008, -6/+27I really was upset at the stupidity displayed and ignorance of the people tearing Obama at the bylaws committee. But I think Digg is not shining example either. Comments like Hitlery or 'that bitch' were always low and disrespectful and I wouldn't be surprised if a Hillary-supporter the likes of what we saw on Saturday excuse themselves over comments like the ones here.
- dn11, on 06/01/2008, -0/+12Yeah, that's true, but I know this - having been to some Obama events, I have yet to see any truly mean spirited anti Hillary propaganda being spewed - and it is actually surprising and uplifting just how positive people usually are. On the internet I see all the bad mouthing of Hillary, but since when is the internet a fair representation of rational and well thought out commentary? I've often suspected that conservatives troll forums posing as Hillary supporters using hate speech against Obama, and I wouldn't be surprised if they do the same against Hillary. But these people in DC are using the worst lies and fear mongering against Obama out in the open and apparently aren't ashamed to have their names and faces attached to it. It makes me sad.
- macweirdo42, on 06/01/2008, -0/+8Nutjobs come from all over. I think we tend to not notice the ones on our side, whereas we tend to focus on the ones from the other side. I mean, I don't really need to go hear pro-Obama rhetoric, because I already support Obama. This causes me to miss out on part of the conversation. On the other hand, I go looking for pro-Hillary rhetoric, because I want to understand the arguments from the other side, and as it turns out, it's the nuts who are the most vocal.
This year is an interesting year for the Dems, because I don't think there's been an in-party conflict like this in a good while, so we're just not used to seeing other Dems foaming at the mouth and screaming like lunatics. - magus_melchior, on 06/01/2008, -0/+1It's been said before, the sense of anonymity emboldens the griefer.
Those who post such bigotry like "Hitlery" may also be Limbaugh/Rove Republicans, who are willing to do nearly everything if means discrediting, insulting, and dismantling the Democrats. They don't realize (or care) that there's an autocracy in the making in the White House, courtesy of the most powerful Republicans in office there.
- joeomar, on 06/01/2008, -4/+21I use to love Hillary Clinton, but with all these haters, I am a happy camper to be part of HOPE. Barack Obama's mother and grandparents would be so proud of him, what a loving and educated man, a proud American.
- soulkitchen, on 06/01/2008, -3/+13About this video, I'm sure the Hillary hold-outs are thinking "You're NOT helping"
- Aikidi, on 06/01/2008, -0/+2dugg and agreed. There are still a (hoping majority) of hillary supporters that arent crazy, and will vote for obama when hillary officially loses. They just don't yell about it, and don't make news. They aren't all morons.
- oldcrows40, on 06/01/2008, -13/+6See this is why women shouldn't have gotten the vote.
Way to go guys.- theaceoffire, on 06/01/2008, -1/+4This has nothing to do with gender, this has everything to do with greed and an over-developed sense of self worth.
Clinton feels she deserves this, and will not stop until she gets it. If she has to lie, cheat, or stab an opponent that is fine.- UltraDavid, on 06/02/2008, -0/+1That's true for Clinton herself, but for her supporters like the women in this article and video, it has everything to do with gender. What an ugly take on feminism.
- absurdist, on 06/01/2008, -0/+3Damn, I know. Giving women the vote, giving coloreds driver's licenses... the whole country's gone to hell in a handbasket.
Now get the hell off my lawn.

- smacksaw, on 06/01/2008, -2/+13I'm sure it makes people feel more secure to suppose that these sorts of people are Republicans posing as Democrats, but the reality is that they are a mirror image reflection of Hillary.
Then again, Hillary's not much of a Democrat, so there you go.- atomicrobot, on 06/01/2008, -1/+4This is all Hillary's fault. She's the worst kind of politician.
- theWrkncacnter, on 06/02/2008, -0/+1I find this kind of odd -- she and Obama stand pretty near on most issues. Unless you mean she doesn't believe in democracy? I'm not following...
- vinnyvenus, on 06/01/2008, -8/+6Obama needs to seriously unite the Democratic party otherwise he is in for a big November surprise.
- jerbaker, on 06/01/2008, -1/+4He has. I think it's not clicking with these psychotic racists that they're really not welcome in the party and nobody is going to waste any time trying to please them.
- paigeinphilly, on 06/01/2008, -1/+3He is trying...he asked us not to protest..he not only preaches "no drama" he walks the walk.
So he is trying...and adding Hill to the ticket is NOT the answer. (if you were going that route...if not?..good.)
Obama/Webb 08 - krazikamikaze, on 06/01/2008, -1/+3It's hard when your supposed ally worked so hard to divide the party, but I have no doubt he will be able to unite 99% of the party.

- DephexTwin, on 06/01/2008, -1/+2The thing is that these people whining about Michigan and Florida and "count ALL the votes in full" are ignoring two HUGE things. Thing 1 is that counting them in full is AGAINST the rules, which Hillary agreed to. Thing 2 is that counting them in totally the way that Hillary wants WILL NOT CHANGE THE OUTCOME.

- UltraDavid, on 06/02/2008, -0/+4The reuben is the royal product of King Corned Beef of Meats and its Bread Queen Jewish Rye. It is the tasty master of all sandwiches.
- theWrkncacnter, on 06/02/2008, -0/+2I read all the way through the comments section with the specific purpose of digging this comment up. This article had nothing to do with reuben eating! We were all gravely deceived!
- blarch, on 06/01/2008, -1/+10the nazis were not socialists, they were social-democrats, altho an oxymoron, they wanted everyone's vote, Germanic unification. i strongly urge everyone to research Germany of 1910-1945. hitler's campaign for office was the first to send out spam snail-mail. the supporters paid for the excessive advertising that they had to deal with
- Fafnir43, on 06/01/2008, -3/+3Frankly, I think it's funnier that they're comparing Obama to the Nazis when Clinton has such similar policies (including a far /more/ socialist health care plan)...
- jerbaker, on 06/01/2008, -0/+5The Nazis weren't socialists at all. You'll notice that Hitler hated the Soviets because they were and even Churchill stated that he'd rather Britain become Nazi than socialist.
Socialism was a very popular cause in the 30's due to the Depression. Just because Hitler decided to hijack the word for political gain doesn't mean he was a socialist.- blarch, on 06/01/2008, -0/+1yes, i worded it incorrectly. i meant what you said, that they were campaigning AS soc-dem. the history is a more interesting story than any movies being released. i'm glad Obama/Clinton/mccain are compared to nazis, i find them to be similar to their times....rejecting the endorsement of fiery pastors only after they're attacked by the media. i've heard obama tug at hearts with a story about his grandmother living in poverty in africa. he isn't doing anything about it, like spending his own money to move her into his mansion. you see how much he cares about his relatives. he's constantly attacking his 10th/11th cousins Bush and Cheney which I would applaud him for if i didn't think it was a political stunt. obama could mobilize millions to impeach bush/cheney if he wanted to. http://www.nypost.com/seven/10172007/news/regional ... . obama rises above instead of rising with, least worst of the 3 elite-selected candidates
- SkittlesUSA, on 06/01/2008, -4/+2Well Obama's health care plan is even worse... it isn't a mandate. So basically, people won't have to pay for health care until they need it. This will also raise premiums for the responsible people who DO pay for health care.
Imagine not having to pay care insurance until you get into an accident, this is basically Obama's health care plan.
Clinton's health care plan is socialist and Obama's is just a pathetic attempt at socialism.
- jerbaker, on 06/01/2008, -0/+5The Nazis weren't socialists at all. You'll notice that Hitler hated the Soviets because they were and even Churchill stated that he'd rather Britain become Nazi than socialist.

- yoshi8710, on 06/01/2008, -0/+2this article may not show what the majority of clinton supporters are like, but it does show that clinton attracts the most fuc*ing crazy people in america. That should tell you something about her, obama doesn't attract nearly as many crazy people as clinton does.

- radiopayola, on 06/01/2008, -0/+4I think it's implied that the reader is intelligent enough to draw their own conclusions about what type of people these are...just as you did.
- krazikamikaze, on 06/01/2008, -1/+5What does it say about your critical reading ability that you didn't do the 5 minutes of investigation in these comments or on the internet it would have taken to find out these people actually exist, used to be Democrats, and now see themselves as a third party of Hillary supporters because "the Democrats betrayed [them]"?
As simply unbelievable as it is, this is not a Republican conspiracy.
- DangerCollie, on 06/01/2008, -1/+8What's more interesting to me was the New Republic handing out brochures that accuse Obama of being a murder. Republicans will either have to cut off the militant members of their party or risk being dragged down by them. There are some signs of hope:
http://www.excons.org/
The Fox News chant indicates to me who the provocateurs may be. In the sewage pond of politics those people are the sludge at the bottom. The rancor, hatred, and vitriol are just getting out of hand. This isn't merely a spirited campaign, this is poison.
The Clintons are only demonstrating how arrogant and disconnected they've become and they're validating everything the right has been saying about them for years. Hillary has almost guaranteed that Obama couldn't pick her as a running mate even if he wanted to. The Republicans would make her the campaign, she'd be an anchor on the ticket and a thorn in his side. Pathetic. What a poor example to be set by a former president. The only good thing I can say about Bill Clinton today is that he was still better than Bush, but every time he opens his mouth he's narrowing that gap. - Cattywampus, on 06/01/2008, -9/+3Who cares? The gist of this "article" seems to be: Clinton and Obama supporters disagree strongly on the rules and insulted one another. This piece sheds no light on the rules, the process, the election, or anything else.
Buried for being much more inane and irrelevant than most HuffPo pieces (which is saying a lot),
It's too bad Digg seems to have become the official recycling center for almost every piece of crap that appears on HuffPo. - Tssst, on 06/01/2008, -2/+17Sorry, I'm a bit confused here. Which campaign is a cult?

- teddtech, on 06/01/2008, -1/+1I didn't come to dislike Obama until Digg became the Anti-Hillary/Pro-Obama cult. Digg is what made me choose sides...
- josereyes0, on 06/01/2008, -0/+2Overall I think it's quite foolish to base your opinion of a candidate on what a common set of people believe. I will agree with you that anything anti-Hillary gets exaggerated on Digg, and some people take that personally. You need to look at things not based upon what influence you've had but with what you agree with. There's little reason to actually choose between Obama and Clinton, their policies are almost identical, the reasons are in the way they handle themselves and the public and their personal experience. If you value the experience that Clinton gained in the 8 years her husband was president, then great, she's your best bet and I respect that. If there are other specific reasons regarding her that made you choose her then great. What I will never respect is someone claiming their decision for who to or not like as the President of the United States to be based upon a group of people's collective opinion. People should never sway you one way or another, you need to make up your own mind based upon the facts that you see yourself.

Comparing socialists to Nazis is something Freepers like to do, which leads me to think these people aren't who they say they are. - footfwd, on 06/01/2008, -0/+5I live in Canada and we still have a lot of socialist concepts, free health care, publicly owned power etc... And i can say that without a doubt we are the farthest things from nazi's. The nazi socialist argument is so stupid, he was a dictator it was a dictatorship. Sweden, Denmark, Norway, etc are very socialist, free education, free social assistance, France has free day care. Trust me that's a much better world than the U.S model.
- solid12345, on 06/01/2008, -1/+1Who said socialism cannot be a dictatorship?
By all accounts the USSR was socialist, the economy was planned, the state owned the factories and all healthcare, housing, and education were provided by the government but it was still a dictatorship.
The problem is leftists have this delusion that socialism is "true" freedom and democracy but it can be bad or good, likewise capitalism can exist in either a dictatorship or a democracy, it is an economic system not an ideology.
- solid12345, on 06/01/2008, -1/+1Who said socialism cannot be a dictatorship?
