Dennis Perrin: The Liberal's Ron Paul Problem
huffingtonpost.com — The funny thing about TNR attacking Paul for being racist is that TNR has published plenty of racist musings itself. Martin Peretz alone contributed much of this, his belief that the "primitive" Palestinians are genetically and culturally incapable of achieving peace (for which no one is to blame, added Peretz in a tender moment) merely one of many

- cashman57, on 01/15/2008, -2/+49As far as I am concerned when the president of the NAACP who knew Ron Paul for 20 years said he wasn't racist, that ended the subject.
- Midoc, on 01/15/2008, -8/+3The NAACP thinks that Bill Cosby is a racist for comments he made about black people.

- Midoc, on 01/15/2008, -12/+2You're one to talk, you spout what ever Ron Paul tells you to.
- HugoNaught, on 01/15/2008, -1/+4Maybe Bill Cosby is, but Ron Paul isn't.

- MaximusPryme, on 01/15/2008, -1/+2You can hate a collection of people you belong to. If you hate that collection of people based on race, it's called racism. A person's skin color does not determine whether or not they are racist, but thank you for your bigoted view towards people.
- yenik, on 04/30/2008, -0/+2Let's face the facts. Ron Paul is the one talking about not bombing brown nations. Who are the racists again?
- Midoc, on 01/15/2008, -8/+3The NAACP thinks that Bill Cosby is a racist for comments he made about black people.
- lethaloption, on 01/15/2008, -0/+22The claims of the NAACP don't matter - afterall Paul (like his followers) have libertarian leanings - which means that we Paulinians don't see people in terms of skin color - therefore the claims of one man who happens to be an NAACP (and coincidentially black) member are null and void. His claims in and of itself, doesn't 'prove' anything. What DOES exonerate Paul is his life as a OBGYN and a Congressional Legislator - he's provided the most color blind business ethics and congressional votes - makes the others look like the 'race card' players that they are.

- erinzdad, on 01/15/2008, -0/+19TNR calling Ron Paul racist ?!?! What a joke. That's the absolute over-the-top height of hypocrisy !!!
- DoktorJeep, on 01/15/2008, -0/+6Ron Paul does not eat black babies! He's too racist for that, remember?
:-P
Sure while the neocons hold the current role of Scourge of the Earth, we have not forgotten how bad the Fabian Socialists are, and will do battle with them as well.
Whether the jackboots are sent by bible-thumping fascists or tree-hugging socialists, the resistance will be the same.
And after the jackboots, those who sent them will be sought after... - HugoNaught, on 01/15/2008, -0/+10This whole witch hunt is bogus. I guess we're supposed to be concerned with the potential for some secret racial preference that is so closeted we have never seen the man speak or act with that persuasion. Yet at the same time we aren't to notice the overt human rights and Constitutional transgressions that have become policy by our government. These are crazy times.
- rxbudian, on 01/16/2008, -0/+6I wonder if any of you actually read the article. The core subject is not about Ron Paul labeled as a racist, but about why his ideas are causing trouble for the liberals. On that subject, isn't it strange that there are more Democrats and Liberals voting for him than Republicans and Conservatives. see Vote By Party ID at http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results ...
- susanFL, on 01/16/2008, -1/+7Everyone is talking about Race, look at what Obama and Clinton is doing, doesn't the American voters out there see what's going on, also everyone should see the church that Obama belongs to check it out, www.tucc.org/about.htm
You never hear Ron Paul talking about another candidate except for when they say something about what his views are. All of the debates have been a joke, all of the candidates are unprofessional and think it's a joke when they are debating about this country to laugh and make comments they all try to be comedians (like President Bush) don't they all realize how important it is to the President of the United States. Ron Paul is the only one who gets down to business about this country. Bill O'reilly from CNN should have the guts and the expertise to invite Ron Paul on his show but none of the Media wants to promate Ron Paul because they are all controlled by Big Government. Do the American Voters realize that HUGE corporations would not make the money they are making if Ron Paul was elected. everything in this country is bought and sold, Look at how much money we owe China and what we have sold to them. The (China)naval military is larger then ours now, do the American people realize this or better yet do the American people know why this is? It really gets me sick to my stomach to sit back and think about what this Country will be like 30 years from now if Ron Paul isn't voted in as the President of the United States. This country needs BIG change and Ron is the only candidate who knows what needs to be done to accomplish this task.
The Iraq war, I wish the American people could look at only the ending date on the contracts our great Governement has with all the private companies who are over there making big money, that is when the war will end and only then. Sorry about being so negative I'm usually not like that, but I will continue to support Ron Paul he is the hope we all have for change.. Thanks- dnd1985, on 01/16/2008, -0/+1word.
- maxtangent, on 01/16/2008, -0/+3I, for one, am glad they picked this blatantly transparent smear tactic. Afterall, if they didn't use this one, it would just be a different one.
Notice that the same people claiming Ron Paul is a racist are the same ones who claim that anyone opposed to the Zionist philosophy is also anti-Semitic. - mysticpain, on 01/16/2008, -0/+4That is correct about Cosby ... its all about power.
http://ronpaulvids.wordpress.com/ - LittleFlower3, on 02/05/2008, -0/+2Ron Paul is Awesome! This smear campaign against him comes from the other candidates feeling threatened by him because he has a real shot at becoming president.
